We came in on a Saturday evening and ordered a 1 pound hamburger with fries. We asked if we could get a side of onion rings and the waitress said yes, but it would be $3.00 more. Our food was extremely late as people who came after us were getting their food before we were! We had to ask our waitress for our drinks and when our food would be coming. We were told that it would be another twenty minutes! We finally got the food but we had ordered drinks without ice, and they all came with ice! Instead of charging $3.00 for the onion rings we were charged $7.99 and they refused to change it! Extremely poor customer service. Waited in line for 10 minutes, when we tried to get our name on a list, e we got asked to move out of the way. We then waited another 10 or so minutes. While we waited 2 large groups were seated, because they would clean larger tables. They would not clean small tables, so that we could be seated. It was at that point in time that we decided to just leave and not eat at your establishment. You so under staffed, no one to buss tables, several of your waitstaff were on their phones, playing with their hair, talking with others and not paying attention to their customers. Food is very yummy. But be prepared for a wait. Finally got a table and ordered our food. They did mess up pretty much everything about our burger. Requested no mayonnaise and to swap out the cheese with pepper jack, neither happened. But it still is pretty darn good. As always food was excellent however they need to do a deep deep clean of everything. I was very disappointed of how dirty it was. Tables were sticky, chairs were full of old crumps, the floors and wall have visible food stains everywhere. As I mention prior the food was outstanding. Still one of the best burger I have ever had. They have a great selection of burgers and their fry sauce is really good. I have eaten the Big Jud 1 lbs burger before and I think the burger is 50% bun. I peeled off the parameter of bun that extended out from the burger and was able to finish it with ease. The size of this burger is the only thing special about it. If you are planning on eating here only once I would recommend trying some of their more unique burgers instead. Minus one due to the out dated feel of the booths, chairs, and kitchen. Went here and we had ordered our burgers and steak fingers and we requested honey mustard for dipping sauce (which we have ordered and received many times) the waitress said they dont have that. So we told her to go check and if they didn't cancel our order and she ignored that and put out order in without verifying that with us first. Instead of helping us she was only interested in standing around and talking with the other waitresses. The service was very poor and I recommend not coming here. Popping into Big Jud's was a completely random experience... we had just visited the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls (highly recommend, by the way), and we were headed back to Mack's Inn (Island Park). We were getting hungry, plus the kids had to use the lavatory (OK, it was me. My bladder was about to pop and I was looking for a Coke because we'd been up since 4:30am!) Originally, we thought we'd just pick up some food and take it back to the camp ground, but once it started raining and I got a look at some of the burgers they were serving, after a quick adult huddle we decided it would be better if we just stayed there (and let them clean up after the kids... :-) Anyway, I asked the nearest cheerful looking waitress (Karisa!) if I could see what the "One Pound Burger" looked like... and when she showed me I got a little weak in the knees. That thing is HUGE... and the yummy looking bun covering up the fresh ingredients made it look too good to pass up. Now, keep in mind when I say HUGE, I'm not talking about a Big Mac, Whopper, or 6 Dollar burger huge... I'm talking about Shaquille Oneil huge. I mean this burger covers an entire dinner plate and sits 2-3 inches high, piled with fresh beef, lettuce, onions, pickles, and of course the special sauce it weighs in at nearly 3 full pounds of yumminess! Karisa was a doll, and really treated us well the entire time, overlooking the fact we were all stinky and dirty from the day's activities, and she also didn't bat an eye when we sort of just sat ourselves down on the biggest table they had (with 5 adults, and 3 boys, we needed the space!) We're really glad we stopped and ate with Big Jud's crew. Everyone, and I mean everyone was cheerful and treated us with kindness and a smile. The food came out pretty quick, and Karisa was even thoughtful enough to guide us through the various options we had in bundling our orders into a meal-deal, that included the fries or tots, and ice-cream for two. It ended up costing us about $45 total, and that included two of the 1 pound burgers (which fed the crew of 8), tots, fries, and ice cream at the end. And in case you're thinking the giant burger was a novelty... it absolutely was not. It was delicious and reminded us very much of the simple yet good burgers you get at In-&-Out. Simple, fresh ingredients, properly (perfectly) cooked burgers with a hint of char, and all the yummy fixins piled under a really good (locally sourced?) bun. After the bad experiences we had in West Yellowstone (Every place we ate there was vastly overpriced, and mediocre-to-terrible food) Big Jud's was a diamond in the rough, and a fantastic break from the crappy service and food we'd been eating in West Yellowstone for 3 days. It's WELL worth the 30 minute drive. We might actually go all the way back up there from Arizona, just to get one of those amazing burgers, and to pay Karisa the sweet heart, a visit! read more

My first time posting a review but have eaten here off and on my entire life. Original restaurant is located in Archer and the Ashton location opened a few years later. It moved from its first locale in Ashton a while back and is now in the diner attached to a gas station. The establishment is not much to look at, and the bathroom conditions are even worse, but the Big Jud burger is legit. Buy one and split it with friends and family, and then buy a basket of fries to share as well. If you have an appetite you can try to eat one on your own and get your picture on the board and a free t-shirt. Happily did it when I was a kid but my metabolism can't keep up with it nowadays. read more

I love this place. We stop anytime we are even near. The big Juds burgers are massive and are too much for 2 people, but probably good for about 3 adults. Pretty good hamburgers! The fries are fresh cut and taste great. I've passed by this place hundreds of times and never stopped until today and I'm glad I did. As far as people saying the dining room is messy, I didn't think it was bad at all.
