We went into this restaurant in a Friday night for dinner. The place was busy and we sat down. We were told that the computer system was down so it would take a while to get our order. I ordered fish and chips. The fish stayed under a heat lamp too long and it was very dry and extra crispy. The fries were also under a heat lamp too long. This could've been a very good Restaurant, but I have no intention of ever eating here again. read more

I'm really sorry to have to write this but this is not my first experience and I know others have had the exact same problem. I went in last night after calling 7 times with no answer. I assumed they were busy so I went in and waited. When I got there they had 8 tables and 5 were already eating. I stood behind a few people paying who waited for 5 minutes once I got there. After they paid the waitress looked at me and turned around and walked away. I waited for 10 more minutes and no one even looked in my direction. they were not busy enough or short staffed enough to ignore anyone without even saying " give me a minute". I ended up leaving and eating somewhere else, where 2 people who were waiting behind me at Big Juds showed up shortly after, so clearly I wasn't the only one having issues. I am a local and have had issues getting served there for the last year now and I'm not the only one. I understand that they get busy with tourists but maybe they should remember who supports them when the tourists go home. I know I won't be coming back along with a lot of other people. read more

You want an amazing double bacon bleu burger? Here's your answer. It's been fun to see this initial restaurant tucked away in the potato fields in Archer Idaho population 100. Had my picture on the wall for eating the big jud. That was decades ago now. This location has grown over time also and there are now locations in Boise and meridian. Really a fun place to eat and I challenge you to eat the big jud read more

Big Juds - Bacon blue - Burgers Near Me - Ashton, Idaho

Busy location since it is close to Yellowstone. It's attached to part of the gas station on the corner. Staff is friendly and it is casual and clean. Like the other locations, you get huge portions and the prices are reasonable for what you get. read more

I had a veggie patty it was amazing, staff was very friendly. Customer Service was one point I will return in the near future.

VERY POOR customer service. Waited an hour for our food. It was obvious they forgot our order. Will not return.

Without question my favorite burger joint in the country.... my friends tease me because I go to Yellowstone during a Big Juds trip not the other way around!!! read more

Best burger in the area! You can tell the meat is quality, the bun is yummy, and it's cooked perfect! I love that they have FRESH hand cut fries and we loved the malt we got. Definitely worth the stop behind the gas station! The waitress also provided great service and was very attentive. read more

Stopped at the Ashton location. Burger is good, and quite filling even for a single patty. Ambiance casual with nice service. Was not impressed with the fries or tater tots. The sweet potato fries are decent. Fry sauce to my surprise is served in Idaho. They have a Man vs Food 2 lb burger challenge if you're into that. Overall would stop here again but wouldn't go out of my way for this burger joint. read more

We came in on a Saturday evening and ordered a 1 pound hamburger with fries. We asked if we could get a side of onion rings and the waitress said yes, but it would be $3.00 more. Our food was extremely late as people who came after us were getting their food before we were! We had to ask our waitress for our drinks and when our food would be coming. We were told that it would be another twenty minutes! We finally got the food but we had ordered drinks without ice, and they all came with ice! Instead of charging $3.00 for the onion rings we were charged $7.99 and they refused to change it! Very bad service when they were late in getting us our food and wrong drinks and we still had to ask when our waffle cones (2) would be coming! I doubt that we will ever come back! We don't recommend that anyone else come either! The waitress was a young blonde wearing a black shirt. When we paid our bill we told her that she could keep the change as her tip! About 68 cents! S. Extremely poor customer service. Waited in line for 10 minutes, when we tried to get our name on a list, e we got asked to move out of the way. We then waited another 10 or so minutes. While we waited 2 large groups were seated, because they would clean larger tables. They would not clean small tables, so that we could be seated. It was at that point in time that we decided to just leave and not eat at your establishment. You so under staffed, no one to buss tables, several of your waitstaff were on their phones, playing with their hair, talking with others and not paying attention to their customers. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

Food is very yummy. But be prepared for a wait. Finally got a table and ordered our food. They did mess up pretty much everything about our burger. Requested no mayonnaise and to swap out the cheese with pepper jack, neither happened. But it still is pretty darn good. Waitress was amazing, as she had her hands full with an amazing crowd and seem to be understaffed. She still had such a wonderful personality and so friendly despite the overwhelming crowd. read more

As always food was excellent however they need to do a deep deep clean of everything. I was very disappointed of how dirty it was. Tables were sticky, chairs were full of old crumps, the floors and wall have visible food stains everywhere. As I mention prior the food was outstanding. Still one of the best burger I have ever had. Same with the ice cream in their waffle cones, absolute delicious. Service was excellent as well. Our waitress was beyond nice and food was served quickly. read more

It's a great place to stop for lunch and get burgers and fries. Behind the gas station.

Great food after a long day at Yellowstone. Service was super friendly with a casual ambiance. Loved that they had gluten free buns for the hamburgers. A favorite of people so expect long lines read more

food was fantastic! we had a big party and the staff was friendly and fast! We will be back!

Update: we tried it again yesterday. They were swamped, but the staff was amazing, as was the food!

Food is ok but really disappointing that 5 waitresses are gabbing at the counter and nobody is cleaning and the place is filthy beginning with the doors you walk in, tables, floors, etc. Unfortunately it's our last time eating here. read more

One of our fav stops on our way to and from Montana and Island Park. Makes for a quick stop and good eating. We always enjoy their burgers and fries. Service is good, prices are reasonable, and portions are great. Today we had the Hawaiian burger with tater gems. First time trying the gems instead of the fries. We like the fries better. They have yummy fry sauce too! read more

We stopped by here because we were hungry and needed gas. I really did not expect much because it was behind a gas station and I didn't know the Bug Jud story. This place was pretty damn good. I own and operate a burger stand in California and let me tell you, Big Juds has some good burgers. I got the blue burger and it was amazing. The onion rings were really good and the fries were cooked perfectly. read more

Big time highway diner vibes that'll get ya feeling right after a long trip or in our case, a savory hike. Aesthetically, it feels like what you would expect in Idaho and could have been used in the movie napoleon dynamite, or dumb and dumber. Survey says, EITHER DO THE BIG JUDS CHALLENGE OR DONT COME. That's the consensus, the food is good but nothing to write home about unless you complete the 2lb burger. Regular fries would not win a single award. The sweet potato fries are better but only if you douse em in fry sauce. Solid establishment, service was sauce. The bathrooms are well used and it shows read more

We plan road trips around coming to Big Jud's. My husband and I split the Big Jud burger with half fries and half onion rings for our order. We couldn't finish it between the two of us. The service is always good. read more

They have a great selection of burgers and their fry sauce is really good. I have eaten the Big Jud 1 lbs burger before and I think the burger is 50% bun. I peeled off the parameter of bun that extended out from the burger and was able to finish it with ease. The size of this burger is the only thing special about it. If you are planning on eating here only once I would recommend trying some of their more unique burgers instead. Minus one due to the out dated feel of the booths, chairs, and kitchen. I feel it could use a remodel, but if you like that feel of a small town local place, this place is the place. read more

We waited for 45 minutes after ordering, watched it go to another table, where it sat for 20 minutes. The waitress then picked up the food and tried to serve that same burger to us (after pretending it came from the kitchen). With no shame or apology. We just left. If that is their health practices I don't feel comfortable eating there. read more

Great place for lunch after fishing in Idaho. Good food, friendly staff and decent prices. The French fries here are really good.

Popping into Big Jud's was a completely random experience... we had just visited the Upper and Lower Mesa Falls (highly recommend, by the way), and we were headed back to Mack's Inn (Island Park). We were getting hungry, plus the kids had to use the lavatory (OK, it was me. My bladder was about to pop and I was looking for a Coke because we'd been up since 4:30am!) Originally, we thought we'd just pick up some food and take it back to the camp ground, but once it started raining and I got a look at some of the burgers they were serving, after a quick adult huddle we decided it would be better if we just stayed there (and let them clean up after the kids... :-) Anyway, I asked the nearest cheerful looking waitress (Karisa!) if I could see what the "One Pound Burger" looked like... and when she showed me I got a little weak in the knees. That thing is HUGE... and the yummy looking bun covering up the fresh ingredients made it look too good to pass up. Now, keep in mind when I say HUGE, I'm not talking about a Big Mac, Whopper, or 6 Dollar burger huge... I'm talking about Shaquille Oneil huge. I mean this burger covers an entire dinner plate and sits 2-3 inches high, piled with fresh beef, lettuce, onions, pickles, and of course the special sauce it weighs in at nearly 3 full pounds of yumminess! Karisa was a doll, and really treated us well the entire time, overlooking the fact we were all stinky and dirty from the day's activities, and she also didn't bat an eye when we sort of just sat ourselves down on the biggest table they had (with 5 adults, and 3 boys, we needed the space!) We're really glad we stopped and ate with Big Jud's crew. Everyone, and I mean everyone was cheerful and treated us with kindness and a smile. The food came out pretty quick, and Karisa was even thoughtful enough to guide us through the various options we had in bundling our orders into a meal-deal, that included the fries or tots, and ice-cream for two. It ended up costing us about $45 total, and that included two of the 1 pound burgers (which fed the crew of 8), tots, fries, and ice cream at the end. And in case you're thinking the giant burger was a novelty... it absolutely was not. It was delicious and reminded us very much of the simple yet good burgers you get at In-&-Out. Simple, fresh ingredients, properly (perfectly) cooked burgers with a hint of char, and all the yummy fixins piled under a really good (locally sourced?) bun. After the bad experiences we had in West Yellowstone (Every place we ate there was vastly overpriced, and mediocre-to-terrible food) Big Jud's was a diamond in the rough, and a fantastic break from the crappy service and food we'd been eating in West Yellowstone for 3 days. It's WELL worth the 30 minute drive. We might actually go all the way back up there from Arizona, just to get one of those amazing burgers, and to pay Karisa the sweet heart, a visit! read more

Great food! Would've gotten 5 stars if the floor wasn't covered with na-kind, straws etc.

Went here and we had ordered our burgers and steak fingers and we requested honey mustard for dipping sauce (which we have ordered and received many times) the waitress said they dont have that. So we told her to go check and if they didn't cancel our order and she ignored that and put out order in without verifying that with us first. Instead of helping us she was only interested in standing around and talking with the other waitresses. The service was very poor and I recommend not coming here. I won't be coming back ever again and I do come here once or twice a month. read more
