i cannot recommend Big John's enough. until this year, we always bought our tree from them. we only didn't this year because my toddler wanted a "white" (aka, flocked) tree. Big John's selection always includes a variety of sizes & types making it easy to find one that speaks to you. the tree stands always look magical with the addition of the lights & it's so fun meandering through the lines of pretty trees. every team member is kind & helpful. they'll attach your tree stand & load the tree for you (which is amazing). plus, they'll take your family picture if you want! they also offer a variety of wreaths and garlands which look gorgeous. prices are a bit higher since this is a small business, but i'll happily pay a little more knowing that. read more

We went to the Vinings location to pick our tree this year. I'll start by saying that the tree is gorgeous! Its tall, full and smells amazing!!! We only went this year because it was convenient and they deliver. My only issue is that the price for the tree snd delivery was way more than it should have been. I only paid it for convenience. The delivery was nice and the guys who worked there explained the different trees. read more

2nd year in a row! I was SURE we were just going to get a regular ole' tree from like Home Depot since it's just cheap and easy, but Big Johns is just up the road from us and looked so charming we thought we'd "just look". Famous last words! Again the sales person helping us was super knowledgeable and under that big tent of wonder we found the most perfect tree specimen in all the land. It honestly looks like it came out of a catalog with its even branches and dark waxy green needles. Best of all, it was about the same price as the big stores. Terrible ripoff. A few years ago, I purchased an overpriced Christmas tree at Big Johns, thinking that I was nice to support a local business. This local business turned out to be a total ripoff. On Christmas Day, bugs were crawling out of it and hatching from inside. I ended up having to drag it to the curb on Christmas Day. Price for 6-7ft tree was $120+. She basically laughed when I told her I paid $60 last year. Trees that were shorter than my wife were going for $70. I could not believe it. We genuinely wanted to support a smaller business but good lord not when the trees aren't all that spectacular and everything is marked up 80-100%. Went up the street to Home Depot. Friendly service. Helped me pick out a Tree. Trimmed it the way I wanted it. $60 for a 7ft beautiful tree. Rip off, go elsewhere. Trees come from across the country (Oregon for example) and they are still over $200 for a 7 footer (ridiculous). The pricing is so inconsistent there is zero credibility. For example, a 7-8' Fraser Fir for $200-$250 (not including stand) but the 5' equivalent is $90. Absurd, especially when the trees show signs of death already on the limbs. The worst part is that half the trees aren't even priced, the manager comes and looks at the tree and 'assigns' a price, then they do not budge on the price at all and are not friendly about it. Even the other Big John locations have fresher trees for lower prices. There are too many options for trees in Atlanta to settle for this place. read more

So I didn't actually go to this location, but their locations can change yearly based on businesses that have come and gone, and now that I've given business to more than one location, I figured I would just review the company. This is the fifth year that I've bought my tree from Big John's. I keep going back because they're conveniently located, their people are very friendly and helpful, and the products last and last and last. The wreaths that I've gotten have stayed fresh well into January. Plus if you bring (or buy) your stand, they'll put it on for you so you don't have to worry about leveling it yourself! In my experience, the trees are about $10/ft, but there's a coupon on the website. And since this is their 60th anniversary year, you get a free tree ornament with tree purchase. read more

I have been buying from Big John's for 5 years. Use the online coupon and pay cash and you come out way ahead than either Lowes or Home Depot. The quality of the tree is way better and the service is way superior. I really like the attmosphere espically this year at the Lindberg location. There was Hot Apple Cider, the usual music a bigger parking area and the young guy that waited on me 1. installed the tree stand 2. put it on top of my car with extra care, platic sheet protectant and he even put a piece of cardboard over my window to keep the tree stand from coming down over my window. 3. We have purchased Christmas trees from this place for the past fifteen years. I had a health issue and arranged for a delivery w/ lights. Despite call after call, they left us high and dry. I will never buy a tree from them again. John the manager at the main location and Diego the delivery guy are full of mistruths. I love love love Big John's! This was my first time at Big John's and I could not be more happy about my perfect Christmas Tree as well as the impeccable customer service. To be quite honest, I always feel a little bit of anxiety walking onto Christmas Tree lots since I am pretty clueless to the different kinds of trees out there... (they carry over 10 different species!) As soon as I stepped onto the lot, however, any speck of anxiety I had was alleviated by the awesome Big John's crew who helped me every step of the way. From picking out the perfect tree, to the netting and picking the right tree stand, and even loading it right on my car. They even helped me pick out ornaments for my new tree! Way over priced. $170 for a tree that was narrow and maybe 5'5". The trees don't look any better than the Home Depot ones.

I know this review won't matter as they are a longtime seasonal tradition. That said short sweet and simple they managed to have me in a total panic about a placed order this year. The person in charge of the order had the audacity to not own the issue and went a step further in telling me it wouldn't upset them if I went elsewhere to seek the product. As a commercial client, she overcharged me all the extras and dismissed my discount. So to put it in perspective, if you don't care about customer service and loyalty then this is your tree lot. However, I am confident Loews or Hd would treat you better than their team. read more

The tree at North Atlanta High School is a beautiful Douglas fir! I was part of the committee that organized getting the tree. The customer service was great: coordination of delivery was simple, it was delivered on time and on the stand as promised, we received maintenance instructions, and the delivery team was pleasant and professional. "Streets of Buckhead" pricing for Christmas trees! If you are not sensitive to how much you are paying for Christmas trees and you don't mind being insulted when you question the prices, go for it. Otherwise I would look elsewhere. Not sure it makes sense to get $10 off when the price you are paying is $50-$100 over what you can get at other stores. omg!!!! i recently moved to ga from sc about a year ago. with just me and my 11 year old i was unsure on where to find a tree and how was i going to get it on my car and home?? big john did it all!!! i sooo love them and on top of all that they replaced my tree due to it drying out and personally delivered it to my home... for free!!! everyone that works there was soooo nice!!! sooo happy and just ugh idk just felt so good buying a tree from them. i will continue to use big johns for years to come and recommend them to any and everybody!! oh and they give out little souvenirs, we got a coffee cup with their name on it!! winning!! merry christmas you guys!!! you all rock!!!!! read more

Big John's is been supplying my company with trees for my clients for years they may be a little more pricier but at the end of the day you get what you pay for and there a small local company the same as mine small businesses make the world move and helps to keep the local economy going I seen a few reviews below about how they went to Lowe's or Home Depot Those are big box stores they buy cheaper product and sell it cheaper you should never compare one company with another company you don't know what they pay for their stuff and the labor that they have to pay for and I'm sure that Big Johns is paying their people a livable wage I remember growing up in my grandmother and mother's flower shop everybody in town would come down for the wreaths and Christmas trees then a big box store moved in it destroyed your company and now when I go home all the small companies over there it's a ghost Town. This is why I love big johns my trees last for my clients to the end of the year I never have to worry about them drying out. read more

These are not the same trees you find at big box hardware stores. The trees here are fresher and were usually cut from the US very recently. Therefore they last longer. In the past I have recycled my tree because it was the new year and my tree was still fresh and green. read more
