One was returned to the kitchen to be heated up. There was a chicken dip that really didn't hit the spot, and the tortilla chips that came with it seem to be past their prime. As for the fried mushrooms. I found them pretty much ordinary. A nice surprise were the brussels sprouts with balsamic and goat cheese. Really really good. Overall, I would give the food about a 3 1/2 stars at the service five stars so what averages out around four stars. Like I said it looks like a nice place to hang around and have a couple of beverages and a little something to eat.

I spent most of the meal wondering if the "Broke" part referred to the stove. When we arrived, there was only one other family in the restaurant, so naturally we expected a reasonable wait. Instead, we had enough time to watch the tides change, discuss our retirement plans, and nearly raise the children to adulthood before the entrees arrived. One of the first things we noticed was that it wasn't busy at all -- which honestly shocked us (in the best way). Back in California, every Habit location always seemed packed at all hours of the day, so this felt like a treat. I ordered the Teriyaki Char with crispy green beans, and my husband got the Double Char meal with fries. Somehow, the food tasted even better than what we remember from California! My burger was cooked to a perfect medium -- which is rare to find at a fast-casual spot -- and it made such a difference. Everything was hot, fresh, and flavorful. We also had the pleasure of chatting with the manager, Danielle, who was incredibly friendly -- and funny enough, she's originally from California too! Small world!
