We have been all over the world, and been to some rough and rowdy places. You could hear music from a guitar from the street. We usually avoid places like that but we thought we would give it a try. We went here on advice from friends. There were 6 of us two guys and 4 women. Despite some of the negative reviews comparing this place to "McDonalds" that was not our experience. We did not sit at the bar but the staff was very accommodating to ensures the all of us where seated together Our bartender, I think her name was Amanda was very friendly and amazing keeping up with all of our party. She was even able to provide drinks, knowing exactly what our party was ordering even with a vague description. If you are looking for a place to drop in and have good burger. I had the Big Jimmy Burger, which consist of lettuce, tomato, onion, the "special house sauce". My wife had the spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings. The chicken was cooked just right, while being juice with a hint of crispy to it.The Spicy Chicken was phenomenal. Onions rings were firm and not slimy as other places, the breading stayed on when biting in to it. They actually bring you a bottle of ketchup instead of small packets or little cups. The food is reasonably prices and was of good portions.Amazing cocktails and sumptuous food offerings combine to create a experiences like no other place in Nashville. The Music here is diverse and usually offers something for everyone. I think the group we saw as (Callum Wade) but not sure. What was meant to be a short stop turned in to several hours. Waiting for our table next door at Stillery we stopped in to grab a drink at Big Jimmys. There was an acoustic guitar singer playing that was really good in how she covered her songs. The place only had a few people inside so we were able to grab a table easily. We ordered drinks and our table got an order of loaded fries. There was a little miscommunication and we got plain fries first but it all worked out. The loaded fries were delicious with macaroni and cheese, a special sauce, sliced steak and mushrooms. Overall a nice spot to grab a drink and snack for a more laid back type of music vibe vs. the loud full band on Broadway. read more

Big jimmy's is a American food/bar establishment located right in the heart of downtown nashville Tennessee popular strip of honky tonks, bars and eateries. My buddy and I was in town for an event at Nissan stadium on a Saturday night and was looking to grab a bite to eat for supper before our event. Every place in the immediate area was insanely crowded with longer waits. This newer establishment we was able to grab a spot and get some food much quicker. You walk to the bar and order the food and receive a number and seat yourself at first available seating. The food menu is much more limited than the drink menu. Pretty much strictly hamburgers. I personally went with the Daddy burger with bacon. Sides are À la carte and cost per siding added. So this needed up being a $20 burger after extras and tip. My buddy went with the Spicy chicken sandwich and a Mille lite. The burger was on the smallish side for the price but it did have a very good flavor and they processed the food rather quickly. My buddy enjoyed his spicy chicken sandwich but said it didn't exactly wow him. Overall the place has a nice atmosphere and worked well for what we both needed. The pricing was borderline ridiculous but which is this places only downfall that we experienced. read more

The live music is very good and I loved it because we were able to have casual conversation at the bar while listening to music. They offered military discount and the bartender was very attentive. I went into town today for some business and had the family with me. We had a coupon for Big Jimmy's and decided to give it a try. What a waste. Save your money. There so much better food downtown than this. Bowling alley burgers. This is the best way I can describe them. I would have enjoyed McDonald better (I LOATHE McDonald's). This is only getting 2 stars because the pepper Jack Mac and cheese was the only good food. This is one of those bars downtown that only survive because of everyplace else down there is packed. So they get the overflow. (I made the mistake of going there on purpose) Staci wasn't friendly, at all. It seemed when we arrived we interrupted whatever she was doing and it didn't make her happy. Barely a "Hello, how can I help you" . No one else was in the restaurant. I should have left right then. All over the tiny restaurant was tiny little signs saying "no table service, order at bar". 4 Burgers (one of them free actually because I had the coupon), 2 orders of onion rings, one curly fry and pepper Jack Mac and cheese. 2 cokes and beer .... ONE HUNDRED AND TWO DOLLARS! To top it, Staci decided to add herself a whopping 20% tip and she did NOTHING. We had to retrieve our food and drinks from the bar. For a 20% tip you'd think she'd bring her ass out from behind the bar and deliver the food. She didn't bother checking on us or asking if we needed anything else. And why should she, she gave herself a tip anyway. I can see why she's on day service in a busy tourist town. No one wants to deal with someone like her in the evening when people actually patron the bar. read more

This is a cute little place on 2nd street off the main tourist attractions on Broadway. We saw three different women over the course of two nights and all were wonderful musicians. It's much more intimate and less congested than what you'll find on Broadway. I highly recommend the chicken sandwich! read more

NYE and we made a dinner reservation but that restaurant (Nashville Underground) SCREWED us so we were hangry and it's busy everywhere but we stumbled in on Big Jimmy's. They saved our NYE! Casey and Jax are amazing. And the guys who cooked our food, also amazing: We were at a ton of bars today on Broadway and all of the staff were rude and miserable to be working on NYE (get it... but at $15 per drink...I don't get it). Just opened, so some of the pics on Google might not be this place. We are really glad we found this spot. When I first came to Nashville, this was where my favorite sushi bar was. Big Jimmy's focuses on burgers and flatbread pizzas. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings and my buddy got the pepperoni flatbread and the Mac and Cheese. The chicken was a good size perfectly cooked so it was juicy and crispy. Onion rings were spot on and they actually had ketchup bottles instead of a little ramekin of ketchup. The pizza look great and I got to try the Mac and it was amazing. Our bartender Cody was amazing and made some white something shots went down easy. Tyler was on stage playing some great songs where you could enjoy it and still have a conversation. There does not seem to be a place for a hostess, so it seems to be first come, first serve. read more

I came to Big Jimmy's last night for the first time. I believe my bartenders name was Jax. He was very friendly and worked hard for us in the beginning. We were ready to leave and needed to close our tab. We  each waved at him a couple of times and he said he would be with us in a moment. At few more minutes passed and I noticed that he was taking care of everybody around us. We sat there for about 20 more minutes. My friend raises her hand and he instantly snaps at her. "I told you I'd be with you in a f€©king moment." My friend asked him why he had been ignoring us and again he instantly snapped at her. "Don't ask me anything you stupid bitch! Both of you get the f^§k out of here!". I told him that we were sorry to have upset him and we would leave immediately after closing out or tab. I told him the name on the tab. He came back and asked me the name on the tab a couple of more times. Then finally came back to say there was no tab under the name given. I said that we definitely had a tab open. He starts screaming at us again. We head to the door. He leaves the bar and follows us and screaming at us the whole way to the front door.  We didn't scream at him. We weren't rude to him at all. We simply wanted to close our tab and leave. He screamed and insulted us both for no reason. It was very upsetting. read more

This spot must be newer, but if you're down near broadway and it's crowded everywhere you go, make a stop at Big J's. This was a FANTASTIC Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, small stage with live music, a ton of TVs for catching the game and super chill vibe. They've got a really straight up menu, burgers looked amazing too, you order at the bar (bartender was super friendly and helpful) and then just grab an open table or high-top or sit at the bar. Their cocktail list looked really good, I got a lemonade one and it was great and wish I had time to try more and prices were reasonable. I really should have taken a picture, but my buddy and I just scarfed it down so fast I didn't have time. It's not a massive space so keep that in mind, but I won't be surprised if I come back in 6 months and this place is packed. read more

A few friends and I were looking for a place to cool off after walking in Nashville's Pride parade and the super friendly bartender, Brandon, welcomed us in even though it was a few minutes before their doors opened.
