What a difference a year makes…read more I was here a year ago and was happy to learn they've stayed consistent with their service as well as their food offerings. They've been like this since I began coming through 5 or so years ago which is why I keep coming back. Consistency is always key! So when I returned one year later, I expected the same. However, I was met with a bit of disappointment. Party of 8, we were seated immediately. I was surprised it isn't more crowded especially when it's supposed to be a lunch rush hour. Big Bro and I kinda had an idea what we wanted but we skimmed through the menu anyway - just in case. We were bummed they no longer have the tuyonesca, but we understand menus change a lot. But we were happy to learn they still have the ATM pizza! Added my usual squid ink pasta. Curious about the pesto marinara pasta as well as the fish and chips. (I know that sounds like a lot for two people, but we shared this with the rest of our party. And I just really wanted a taste.) The squid ink pasta was still on point! Check! PASTA BOLOGNESE: This is actually Hubbers' plate. No disappointment here. Has a slight kick which added to the dish's character. I liked it. FISH AND CHIPS: This would have been great if they didn't use old oil. That aroma was unmistakable and that kinda took away the dish's main essence. Batter was thin and crispy and the fish was soft and flaky. The seasoning was on point as well. If it didn't have that old oil smell, this would have been perfect. PESTO MARINARA PASTA: Okay, so Big Bro and I ordered this because how would they mix pesto AND marinara sauce at the same time? Welp... that's exactly what happened here. The marinara sauce was more a base, topped with pesto pasta. I liked it more than I thought I would. The pasta was cooked al dente and the bread was a good pairing. ATM PIZZA: The pièce de resistance, the one thing Big Bro and I were looking forward to. (Before I move on, I asked our server if we have the option of getting this thin crust - she said they don't offer it that way. No worries.) Anyway. Big Bro and I each got a slice and I immediately knew it was off before I even took a bite. First, the crust was so thick, it barely cooked through, so the toppings under all that cheese also barely cooked through. Second, the mushroom and tomato flavors and aroma were abundant. I gave it a few more little bites looking for the anchovy part of this pizza, and guess what: it's missing. It was disappointing enough to ask the server if she could ask the chef about it. She came back saying the anchovy has been mixed in the sauce. That was a challenge to believe as well because neither one of us got even the tiniest hint that there was anchovy in this pizza. VERDICT: I had to plow through my slice. Big Bro barely finished his. It really was a let down. FOOD: 3.5. Saving grace here is the squid ink pasta. SERVICE: 4.5. Out server was patient with us. Service with a smile is always a plus! VALUE: 3. Barely worth it, PARKING: Private lot. Street parking also available. OVERALL: 3.5. A slight demotion. I had recently bought anchovy flakes, so an idea came to mind: bring home the pizza, top it with anchovy flakes, warm it up using the air fryer and cross fingers. It ended up tasting much like the way we had it at Mrs. Bakers on our first run. At least the rest of the leftover pizza didn't go to waste. But I'm not counting them out just yet. So long as they're around, I'll keep coming back. I just hope the disappointment ends here...

Fellow Yelper Ed V. was kind enough to contact me to let him know should I find myself in the city…read moreof Bayombong again - he had a few suggestions as to where to find some good eats. It wasn't too long after that when I did, in fact, find myself around the area. Per his suggestion, Bacolod Grill was one of the must try's, so after running a few morning errands, my party of 6 found themselves in hunger pangs. Bacolod Grill it is. It isn't one of those big restaurant types, they can probably seat about 30 people at most. We came through during the beginning of their lunch hour, so getting seated wasn't an issue. Ordering was simple and easy - you do it at walk in and they'll deliver everything to your table. As Ed suggested, we went for the chicken inasal as well as the pork chop. We also went for the sinigang maya-maya, couple of orders of gizzards, three orders of chicken skin, couple of orders of salmon and last but not least, a couple orders of tuna belly. (Our eyes were clearly hungrier than our stomachs.) Other than the soup (understandably), everything was MADE TO ORDER grilled. Off the bat, they told us the tuna belly would require a bit more time - no problem. And in no time at all, everything came through all at the same time. GRILLED VEGGIES: A must have. It's a great sidekick to all the dishes. CHICKEN INASAL: It is NOTHING like that popular Mang Inasal everyone has gone cuckoo over. It has the basic essence of what inasal is supposed to taste like, but the flavor on the ones they had here is slightly elevated. I can't put my finger on what it is, really, but personally, I like it better here. On top of that, the chicken is also slightly bigger and much juicier. PORK CHOP: The sides were a bit tough, but I gotta say, they were seasoned well. That didn't deter us from eating it since the flavor was still YUM. SINIGANG MAYA-MAYA: This was a great starter. Perfect level of tang, fresh vegetables and they didn't skimp on the fish. Great for cold or rainy weather. GIZZARDS: It was the exact texture and flavor Big Bro and I were after. We consumed pretty much most of it. Delish. CHICKEN SKIN: So, it's not JUST chicken skin. There's also meat on it. The sauce they doused it with upped the flavor a bit. Cooked tender and juicy, this is a must have. SALMON: Now, it's known grilling salmon can be a challenge, but they've perfected it here. Served flaky and juicy with the perfect char on the skin. This didn't last too long on our table. TUNA BELLY: This was worth the wait (although we didn't have to wait long at all.) The seasoning was perfect. The texture was perfect. Like the salmon, it was flaky and juicy at the same time with the perfect amount of char. All I'm saying is: GET THIS. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 5. (There was always someone available when needed and we were checked on to make sure we had everything we needed.) VALUE: 5. (You get a bang for your buck.) PARKING: A couple of spaces up front, otherwise, street. OVERALL: 5. The place was full and poppin' by the time we were halfway our meals. They are very VERY popular. FUN FACT: They deliver. And shout out to Irmin - thanks for being so kind and welcoming! We all enjoyed our visit! What an amazing array of food they offer! They are definitely on my radar and it's definitely a go-to on my next visit. (Thanks for the amazing tip, Ed! Will spread the word!)

It's a hidden gem - and I mean that literally. If you drive too fast, you will absolutely miss it. It's in a very unassuming location, but I'll say it's a great find! Late lunch, we were seated immediately. I was pleasantly surprised at how big this place is! (Seriously, its outside appearance made me assume it's small - can accommodate up to ten, maybe. But nope - they might be able to fit three times as much.) QR code menus - a first for me in the Philippines - so I thought that was cool. Our hunger helped with decision making. WINTERMELON MILK TEA: Excellent! It's the exact taste I'm used to! (Back story: I ordered this at Chow King onto far from here - it was horrible!) So we're off to a good start! KARE KARENG GULAY: This was to satisfy my curiosity: vegetarian-ish Kare Kare? Yes, please! Veggies were fresh, but it's all about the peanut sauce which was perfect! Side of a sautéed shrimp paste made it even bette. I'd be happy with just this and a bowl of rice. YUM! BUNDLE C: Comes with rice, blanched vegetables and your choice of three main dishes. We went for the liempo, daing na bangus and Buffalo chicken. My eyes popped when it was delivered: holy [bleep!!!], that's a lot of food. I know it says it's for 4-5 people, but this is more for up to 6-8, if portioned right. Liempo was grilled to order (perfect char and seasoning), fish was fried to order (generous with three pieces) as with the wings (perfect amount of sauce - it didn't take away the main essence of the fried chicken.) They timed it all so perfect that when that tray of goodness came out, everything was hot. All of them were YUM!!! We all walked out happy, and on the drive home, that's when I realized they forgot to serve us the balanced veggies. But honestly, we enjoyed what we had that we didn't even miss it. FOOD: 5. Loved everything. SERVICE: 4.75. Would have been perfect if not for the missing balanced vegetables with the bundle, otherwise, staff were friendly and available when needed. The call button on the tables were pretty handy! VALUE: 5. Quantity + quality + bargain pricing = excellent eats! PARKING: a couple of really small spots up front but you're better off parking on the street. Be mindful of blocking local residents' driveways, though. OVERALL: 4.75. Feel like eating just like the locals (with your hands)? They provide gloves. FUN FACT: Their TGIF stands for "Taste Goodness In Food." Clever! There will be a repeat visit on my next visit! I'm gonna bet they'll earn that 5th star then.

For a first time visit, the dining experience wasn't to our expectations or we came at a bad time. When we arrived, there was no one to seat us in the main dining area, so we just stood there and waited. It was not busy, only one table with a few people was occupied. We saw employees in the back gathered together just talking. They looked at us, but kept talking for awhile until, finally, a guy helped us. He wasn't welcoming or offered any assistance. We had to ask questions. Right away, we got bad vibes here, and said the hype on this place is very misleading. Anyway, we ordered fried crispy bangus, steamed rice, chop suey and buko pandan. The bangus wasn't as crispy and the chop suey had too much cornstarch in it that made the sauce too thick - gross. Only positive is the nice parking attendant who guided us parking the car and holding an umbrella above my head from the heat and extreme sun. This place is a big NO for us. The place wasn't hard to find and the gardens are nice. They had a large snake, I think a boa or python in a cage for those who want to be amused.

Disappointing Experience - Would Not Recommend…read more This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I've had. The fried rice tasted like leftover food from a previous event--cold, clumpy, and unappetizing. The crispy crab was overly salty, the pinakbet was watery and lacked flavor, and to top it off, the buko juice was warm. Service was equally disappointing; we waited over an hour for our food, and the staff seemed indifferent. Overall, a complete letdown. I won't be coming back. Waist of my ti.e and Money From Kate, NYC i should give a zero star
