My sis and I enjoying the snowballs.

The service was fast, the ice cream was good, and the people were nice. I really liked that you can really make any combination you would like. It was overwhelming at first, but the lady helped me choose by asking questions on things I liked and didn't like and was able to recommend something just for me. Will be back when I'm back in the area!

A fun take on snowballs or as I call them "snow-cones". Located on the perimeter of the lake Ella; this tasty treat is ideal on a hot day strolling around the park. There are multiple size cups available and an overwhelming number of flavors to choose from. You have the choice of traditional snowballs to decadent snowballs stuffed with ice-cream in the middle. You know I had to have decadence. The strawberry berry shortcake was de-li-cious! Although sweet, as expected, the ice-cream in the middle was a nice touch. I would definitely suggest you go try them out!

A delicious treat! Friend staff with a Small sitting area inside. Such a huge variety of flavors and options. A small is really enough for an enjoyable and filling treat.

A taste of New Orleans in Tallahassee! Growing up in Wisconsin, I only ever tried sno-cones and always felt a bit underwhelmed by the idea. This meant that when I moved to Tallahassee and saw a few snowball places scattered, I never gave them a second thought. Well, I'm glad I finally gave (real) snowballs a try and came to Big Easy Snowballs! These are nothing like the sno-cones of my childhood and have easily become my new favorite summer treat! You start with base of finely shaved ice, add in a scope of ice cream at the center, and drizzle on your favorite syrup flavors, including cream ones made with sweet and condensed milk for extra sweetness. I love the strawberry and blackberry with the ice cream center, but the more herbal flavors are probably my favorites now. Even the small I had was a bit large for me, though, so choose accordingly, but I've sure you'll love every bit!

Big Easy is the perfect spot to cool down on a hot summer day (and honestly, their snow balls are so delicious that I would eat one on a 35-degree January day)! My favorite thing about these is that you don't run out of flavor after a few bites- these are one million percent better than any stadium snow cones. I have been about three times since Memorial Day weekend and it never disappoints!

Big Easy Snowballs has something for everyone with 150 different flavors, including succulent cream flavors and sugar free varieties. The specialty of the house is a "stuffed" snowball - a regular snowball in any flavor stuffed in the middle with French Vanilla soft serve ice cream.

My youngest is a huge sno cone fan and she was in love with Big Easy Snowballs. She ordered the medium in sour lemon and raspberry and it was more than enough. I also like they offer soft serve as an alternative for my older daughter that won't eat sno cones and local, Lucky Goat, coffee. Great location on the water with lots of Poke stops by for Pokémon Go players.

Another great recommendation from our daughter for snowballs at Big Easy! Really nicely located on Lake Ella, even on the drizzly Friday we visited there was a nice family crowd. Tremendous variety of flavors here for snowballs which are New Orleans "shaved ice." You can also get your snowball stuffed with soft serve vanilla ice cream. The root beer snowball I selected was supremely delicious and so good! I also sampled both the mango, coconut snowball flavors! Wonderful as well! Worth checking out Big Easy snowballs is you're looking for a cool treat!

Great little place that adds some flair to Tallahassee's otherwise boring culinary scene. The idea of a New Orleans snowball is sort of like a snow cone but not. Don't call it a snow cone, either. The ice is a little bit finer than your regular snow cone. The flavor options here are plentiful. I was honestly sort of surprised that there were so many. I used to work at a snow cone place and I thought we had a lot of flavors, but Big Easy Snowballs really kicks it up a notch. Think s'mores snowballs, cookie dough snowballs, etc. There's a huge variety here. If you're overwhelmed or confused by the different types of snowballs and their flavors, just ask the people working there. They will gladly let you sample any flavor you want which I thought was really great since Big Easy offers so many different flavors. I got the sugar free red velvet cake but I tried the piña colada, tiger's blood (a snow cone classic) and green apple. All were really good. I felt in the mood for red velvet but the piña colada was a close runner up. The place was pretty busy when I went in and for a good reason. The snowballs are delicious and the place is located right by Lake Ella so you can sit and enjoy a cold refreshment on a warm Florida day.

I eat frozen stuff a bit too often. I have VIP buy-ten-get-one-free cards at Rita's, Juicy Green,…read moreand Yoforia in Atlanta, and I always get my freebie in less than two weeks. I frequently find myself referring to locations according to their proximity to a fro-yo or ice cream shop, and I plan my errands around nearby Yogurberry's or TCBY's. Anyways, this is at least my fifth summer vacationing in St. George Island, FL, and I've always felt like my frozen treat options here were lacking. There's Aunt Ebby's, which is somewhat similar to Bruster's, but in a more divey, beach town environment. It's popular, but I crave healthier options like fat free soft serve or sugar free italian ice after a long day on the beach. Upon arriving for this summer's adventure in St. George, my family immediately spotted a new cute wooden hut advertising shaved ice. It was about 6 p.m., and they were closed, but we vowed to stop by the next day. We did, and it was glorious. There were at least 30 flavors, and 4 were sugar free. The green apple was delicious, and service was friendly. At $4 a pop, it ain't cheap, but I'm happy to support the local small beach town businesses. We asked what time they usually close, and we were told about 4:30 or 5 p.m. every day. Based on this experience alone, my review would've had a higher rating. However, we returned the next day around 3:30, and it was closed. With parched throats, we sadly drove back to our beach house. We returned again today at 3 p.m., and it was closed... again. Every day we've been here, the weather has been perfectly hot and sunny, and plenty of people have been out and about. I don't get it. Along with shaved ice flavors like pink lemonade, root beer, watermelon, passion fruit, and tangerine, Island Ice offers hot dogs and chili dogs.... when they're actually open, of course. I like to play hard-to-get sometimes, but not when it comes to food.
