We just bought the house in the late winter and he walked around the property with us and told us what kind of trees we had (to me, a tree is a tree). He explained what was going to bloom and when. We learned so much about our landscaping from him! The project involved cutting down a spruce tree that was touching a chimney (fire hazard, says homeowners insurance) and trimming a locust tree that was touching the garage roof. Thankfully he prepared me that locust tree had not been trimmed in very long time and had a lot of dead branches in it so they would wind up cutting it back by about a third. We still had not moved in yet and the crew was well into the job when I arrived the day they started the work -- and I'm so glad Gary mentioned that they would be cutting it back the locust tree so much. In hindsight, it really needed it! I saw the limbs and branches that were on the ground and they were in bad shape. The crew manager explained that the guy removed the dead stuff and cut it back off the roof and was in the process of shaping the tree so it was aesthetically pleasing. It wound up looking very good and I'm excited to see how it looks once it has leaves (should be soon as we're mid-April). The crew was in and our fairly quickly. The cleanup was amazing! You'd never know that they cut down a tree and did substantial trimming on another tree as every single twig was removed! I would definitely contact Gary again for any tree service! Thanks Gary!

They came the same day I paid, and did a terrific job considering what I'd tried to do (it was bad) and the lawn looks great. I will put up pictures when the lawn looks a little better, because I'd tried to use an electric mower that wouldn't adjust properly so some spots are awful. Anyway, great job, guys! My parents had a 70ft+ tall tree in their backyard, and the trunk was pressing into their garage…read morecausing the garage to lift and shift. I requested quotes via Yelp to remove the entire tree, INCLUDING stump and received four quotes. GTG was the second to most expensive quote, but as a real estate developer, for the risk associated with taking down such a large tree, I would not hire a company that didn't have basic credentials including license, bond, and/or insurance, and was not registered with the state of MI, and in good standing. GTG provided proof of their business insurance, is registered in good standing with MI, and has a A+ BBB rating, although not registered with the BBB. This was a complicated job: tall and wide tree stretched between my parents' yard and their neighbors, touching and shifting my parents' garage, and the 6ft chain link fence separating the yards had been consumed by the tree. Mike, the owner came out to the house for an in-person estimate, and I clearly communicated our main concern being the growing trunk. He put in writing at least three times (texts and quote) that he could remove the stump. When the day came to remove the tree, his team did that work quickly, but once they got to the stump, he said they could not do it due to risk of the chain link fence ruining their saws and stump grinder. We agreed to pay less than his quote for the work ($800), but he also said he would find someone else to do the work. Two days later he emailed a quote ($1400) that was more than what he quoted for the stump removal and said they had to come the same day (a Saturday, and I was out and about) and by another company that he did not tell me the specifics for, so I couldn't research them. Ultimately, GTG could not do the work, but Mike kept trying to tell me how difficult/complicated of a job it was... my response was, "but you knew that when you came out to see the tree before you bid the job!" Mike kept making excuses but would not accept responsibility for sending a bad quote. I think he purposefully misled us to get the work, knowing that he couldn't remove the stump. So, now I have go through finding, meeting, and vetting contractors yet again, to get the stump removed. I'm getting quotes, and one is $3000, so either Mike doesn't know to to bid work, or is dishonest. Mike is very charming, and he uses that to mislead customers. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

I had to call another arborist to come out and address his mistakes. Praying he hasn't killed my beautiful tree. It's truly devastating and heartbreaking when you pay in full only to be ignored and scared that your beautiful tree you trusted an "experienced" company to trim was so terribly hacked and just pray it won't die. They won't step up and at the very least allow me to understand what happened. Zero communication from this company. Horrible experience. Highly recommend not using this company.
