We dined in at the location right off Paris Rd. and happened to meet the owner while there. We loved their story and combine that with really good food and a nice vibe, this place is a winner. Hubby loved the brisket and thought the rib tips were good. We had the sauce on the side and I enjoyed the flavor! The green beans were a little unusual in that they had a spicy finish, but I liked that. Hubby thought the beans were good and I liked the Mac n cheese. Hubby enjoyed the sweet potatoes and thought they were sweet, but not too sweet. I love the fact that they have a full bar! They do not list their sides on the board, so we didn't realize that there are options we couldn't see. Next time, I'd ask to see what all my choices are before ordering. read more

Big Daddy's BBQ - Full bar! - Barbeque Near Me - Columbia, Missouri

Our first visit while in Columbia, other tellers gave good reviews. My husband ordered the rib tips dinner with greens and baked beans I had the 1/4 chicken with greens and potato salad. The staff is friendly and the service fast. We ate there. Tables and booths set up with plenty of room. My husband really enjoyed his meal no complaints. And the chicken was very good tender juicy and smoked to the bone in a good way mild smoked flavor seasoned well. I could have eaten more. The greens were good as well. I prefer my potato salad with a little more down home flavor but it was good as well. My compliments to the chef read more

I've had a lot of hohum BBQ. This place has it goin on! We had rib tips, a single sample rib, chicken quarter, friend okra and green beans. It was all flavorful and done just right. And the ladies behind the counter were so nice. There was blues on the speakers. Can't ask for more than that. SLAP YO MAMA GOOD. read more

Some of the best Homestyle BBQ any where around. The brisket melts in your mouth the Mac& cheese is smoothie and creamy. The fries and fried ocre were just right, crispy on the outside without being over missy in the middle. As always the staff is amazing and the Signature BBQ SAUCE IS SWEET AND SPICY but not overbearing. The overall design and ambiance with the music playing in the background added to the charm and the restaurant and restrooms were very clean. GREAT JOB!!! read more

Big Daddy's BBQ - Pulled pork with green beans and mac&cheeze. Bbq brisket with fries and fried ocre - Barbeque Near Me - Columbia, Missouri

I've wanted to try Big Daddy's BBQ for years. It's supposed to be one of the best BBQ restaurants in Missouri When we travel cross country, we always stop at the Garth Nature Area - there's great walking trails and a dog park, and Big Daddys is just a few blocks away. Somehow, I'm always in Columbia on Sunday or Monday when Big Daddys is closed, but this time, I made sure to be there on a Wednesday. I'm so glad we stopped in. I had chicken, which was good. Hubby had brisket, which was amazing. As soon as I saw the smoke-ring on the brisket, I knew he had won the day. For sides, we had baked beans and greens beans. Given the way the green beans were handled, slightly spicy, I would definitely try the collard greens next time. The staff was so friendly and one of the girls was singing songs as she was cleaning. It was a fun atmosphere. read more

The food was hands down out of this world! Soooo good! It's a walk up, quick-style service where we ordered and then sat down to eat. We split two full slabs of ribs amongst 5 of us. Beans, Mac and cheese and baked beans were mouthwatering good. Hubs had pork steak and son had pulled pork nachos - everything was amazing and service was awesome! read more

Got the ribs and brisket plate. The ribs were pretty good. The brisket was dry and tasted like roast. Think we just caught them on a bad day with this. BBQ sauce made it better. All sides were very good. Only one BBQ sauce available but we both liked it. Overall 3.5 stars. read more

Stopped by Big Daddy's on the way back East. On the reverse trip, we sampled some Kansas City BBQ, so we were interested to see what Columbia had to offer. I personally like a spicier BBQ (over, say, a vinegar or sugar BBQ), so this was a little sweet for my taste. That said, the meat was amazing! The brisket melted in your mouth and the ribs had a nice smoky flavor and had some meat on the bone. The fries had a great taste, and the mac and cheese was fine! Despite a decent lunchtime line, things moved quickly. Definitely no complaints! read more

I stopped in while traveling through Columbia. The place is an old fast food joint and works well. I got the rib sandwich. It was supposed to be three bones, but the gave me 4. The lady said I looked like I needed 4. Ribs were good, but a little soft for my taste. I like some mouth feel on my ribs. Personal preference! read more

Visiting family and they suggested this place. BBQ meats with some soul food Good food and fast service. Husband and I both like Southern soul food so he had the fried okra and I had greens and yams. Greens were a little wet and maybe too vinegary. Meats and sauces were good too. They served everything sandwich style with buns. I could see that with sandwiches on menu but dinner meals and ribs on a sandwich? Maybe toast or cornbread on side would be better read more

The food is very good and the staff is very professional and polite. I wish I could eat there more often. read more

The food Absolutely delicious!! I have not tasted any restaurant that comes close to how good the food is; only down fall has been the male cashier. I thought it was odd that I was charged a few dollars more for my son's kids meal than advertised. I brought it up to the cashier, and he just said due to inflation food cost more & prices were higher. I told him I understood that, but you can only charge what the price is stated. He didn't agree. Long story short , talked to the manager come to find out she was the owner and she was very nice read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would! We just ate at the Paris Rd. location & we have found our go-to BBQ place in Columbia! I had the pulled pork sandwich with bbq beans & my wife had the brisket sandwich with cabbage & the entire time we were eating we couldn't stop smiling! The cabbage side was AMAZING! It was buttery with a taste of bacon. The beans were sweet & smokey. Both the pork & the brisket was awesome! If you want great bbq, go to Big Daddy's! We saw the trailer. It would be nice to see you guys at the Mid- Missouri Pride Fest September 24th & 25th @ Rose Music Hall. They have a page set up with a phone number where you can call for info. read more

This is the BBQ I've been looking for my whole life! Down in the boondocks of Southern Maryland there's a BBQ culture and it is THIS style BBQ. I cannot find any other place in the region that sells KC BBQ, especially in Virginia, where I now live. Everything is Carolina BBQ and I cannot stand it. This was amazing, and the cole slaw just made it perfect! If you're passing through, and you love BBQ, you're doing yourself a great disservice by not coming here! read more

First time in MO. On way from KC to STL. Found this place on yelp. Did not disappoint. Owner (Lloyd Henry) introduced himself to myself and 2 boys. Shared stories of the area and his past with us. Big Daddy's BBQ - Brisket, mac n cheese, green beans and strawberry cake - Barbeque Near Me - Columbia, Missouri

Driving though town and found this place. Was glad we decided to check it out. Friendly service. Delicious brisket. Added the fried okra and baked beans. Excellent choice. Don't pass it up. read more

This place has the best bbq, not just in Columbia, not just in Boone County, but in all of Mid-Missouri. I'm willing to stake out a claim and say that. The restaurant itself is very humble looking, workers serving meat buffet style behind glass with an old looking coke machine just out of sight. The floors are old tile and there's wood paneling and it's very very tight! Definitely nothing fancy, but that's because these people are focused on BBQ AND NOTHING ELSE! The homemade Big Daddy's bbq sauce is sweet without being goopy or thick and smokey without tasting like somebody had an accident at the liquid smoke factory. I order something that some folks call a "horseshoe" but I've never referred to it that way and it isn't on the menu. But it's Big Daddy's pulled pork nachos on a bed of fries instead of chips, with no beans. I wish I had a picture but it never lasts long enough for that. Also did I mention it's reasonably priced? Also did I mention its black owned? Also did I mention they serve drinks too? Only hang up is they aren't open more days a week. read more

Big Daddy's BBQ - Bbq - Barbeque Near Me - Columbia, Missouri

We had been to Big Daddys barbecue on the Business Loop a couple years ago and I wasn't overly impressed. We decided to give it another shot at this new location. I called ahead and ordered a brisket dinner with two sides. When I went to pick it up about 15 minutes later, they had not made it and it was busy so I stood there and waited while about 10 people went in front of me not a huge deal when I got up to pay it was $20 and I thought "wow they raised their prices!". I took it home and opened it and it was a sandwich, so I had a brisket sandwich, beans and coleslaw and a soda for $20. I checked their menu online and it turns out I was completely overcharged. The food was decent, but they need to get their act together. read more

Holy cow. Tiger'd again... why are there so many in this league?? I digress... because my mind was blown today ! Did you realize you can sweat from more meats than just steak? This old Paisan only dealt in beef, but pork is alive! Ribs, ribs and more ribs. And where else? BIG DADDY'S. I thought I was big daddy but apparently not but that's ok now that I know ribs and bbq sauce exist. Banana pudding to boot? Holy cow! Brought a little milk home for my kitties at the hotel, no slips - towels everywhere- but got me a good old sweat on like always... maybe I'm passed my prime (rib)? read more

Ribs were fall off the bone. The Brisket was good but kinda small portions. I thought the sides could be a little bigger but overall still 5 star . I will be back read more

Great soul food and fantastic deserts at great prices served by really nice people!!!

I had eaten Big Daddy's food as part of a company event. Delicious! Today we tried their restaurant on Paris Rd, have to say we were severely disappointed. My husband does not like pork, but most BBQ places have other options. I really wanted brisket, but the person in front of me got the pulled pork nachos, looked so good. My husband ordered the brisket, they were out, ordered the pulled chicken, out. So against his better judgement got the nachos. For 2 pulled pork nachos and 2 drinks was $34. My first bite was good, their slaw is very good, the pulled pork was ok, but I got no sauce. My husband got ready to eat his and had no meat at all on his plate, but got sauce. I went back through the line to get his pork. I tried his pork to see how it tasted with sauce, didn't like it as well. He was very disappointed. He did not eat even a quarter of his meal. I did not finish my meal either. We left, came home and he ate cold pizza from the night before. Unfortunately we will not be coming back. I gave them 2 stars as the staff preparing our food was nice. read more

Today was a beautiful day to eat on a patio. We arrived at about 2 and there was a line to order. That is now you know this food is going to be great! We both ordered the smoked wings. It didn't take long to get our order. We opened it up and the smoked wings were huge! Man oh man, they were delicious. Juicy and full of smoked flavor. We had the fries and potato salad, both were wonderful. I had the homemade lemonade and that was delicious as well. There is no inside seating, it's patio only. I highly recommend eating here, the food was wonderful. read more
