I go all the way back to old Fraser Hockey Land. This place has been part of my life for a long time. I'm writing a review on my Motor City Rockers experience. Very entertaining hockey. The team really works hard on giving a good time. I went to the in house tailgate party $2 Blue Lights and $1 hot dogs and $1 popcorn. The beer was cold, dogs were fresh and the popcorn salty. Couldn't ask for more. Parking was free the lot was in good shape. The building is older put well kept. Restrooms were clean. Every time I go in there all my great memories come to me. By the way the Rockers won.

Went to watch motor city rockers vs Columbus game. Not crowded at all and got to see the game in a front row so that was very exciting. The arena's exterior and interior needs some upgrades but it was nice size inside. My daughter 8 years old enjoyed the game as well. Today was actually a family day so there was a tiny kids zone that handing out balloon animals and such for free and which was very nice . Also it was great to see Michigan team won.

Cute little arena with friendly staff and good pricing on concessions and merchandise. We saw the Motor City Rockers hockey team. Loved the General Admission seating so we could sit right at the glass. The arena is tucked away and tricky to find. Maybe adding some signage would help direct guests. There are multiple rinks in the building and it is not obvious where to go. There were some concessions at the rink but much better food options in the lobby. We took advantage of the skate with the players and got lots of autographs. We will be back for future games!

Bruh THIS WAS SUPER FUN!!! Our rockets won!!! 5-3 first time here and I LOVVVEED THE FIGHTS!!!! Definitely the best part of the game to me. Kept us on edge! Definitely made me want to come back and see some more!!! Fun audience raffles and concessions! Lots of energy. Bring a small jacket and a buddy! They got a bar too! great experience!!

First of all - this is a hockey arena, it will be on the cooler side - dress appropriately. Watch out for the driveway, not real clear on where to turn in. Went to the concessions on the concourse and got popcorn, pretzel, and pop * $9. Excellent pricing, but except the pretzel was cold and inedible. (Concessions closed before end of game). There is a bar - but I didn't go there. There is an elevator. Seats are general admission and looks like any seat is a good seat. There is multiple security personnel present. My personal issue - many kids running all over the place and bring disruptive to other paying guests. Not only is it irresponsible, it's not safe for the kids.

    Remodeled locker room.

Good vibes, free briefs. Clean rinks. Come for the hockey, stay for the Ricardo. Great place.

Ironically it was warmer inside than it was outside the ice rink. My house districts are being held and yay they won

Last known as Maxx Play, the 90K sq. ft. facility was also the former home for a plethora of businesses that failed the test of time. From bounce castles, to paintball, to Whirlyball before it. The place was shut down in 2009's and it sat empty for a couple of years. In 2011, the new owners refurbished and renovated, and reopened as The New Rink Roller Sports Complex. Some of the original decor remained, the original entrance, the wood floor skating area, and those globe chandeliers. And with the vast space, they were able to maintain most of the original businesses. In addition to the rink, A separate section with bounce houses remained, as well as a separate section for an arcade. There was also a closed off section I wasn't quite able to see, but it looked like another rink (Roller Hockey? Private party?). And, of course, facilities for parties, complete with a snack bar. Lastly, there is a pro shop to cover all sorts of repairs and carries items for you to purchase. But the reason why I'm writing about this place is simply because it exists. With a bowling alley up the street, two trampoline parks and a rock climbing gym nearby, and a laser tag facility down the street, this rink rounds out activities nicely for the area. During the summer, they have admission specials and skate programs to help occupy our kids and getting in some physical activity to boot! 4 stars overall. For those of you wondering, I think the Paint Ball business is still there. I didn't see an entrance from the inside, so I'm assuming it's only accessible from the plaza. If you would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company.

Then, when my daughter and I went to the woman bathroom near the soccer/ hockey rink there was a man using the bathroom with the stall door open. He did not flush the toilet or wash his hands and when we told the rental manager she said " oh they do that all the time" as if it was ok and normal.

Highlights include interactive water features, food concessions, and restrooms. They're open every day from 11:00am-7:00pm. The fun fountain is available Memorial weekend thru Labor Day weekend. The splash pad/fountain becomes an ice rink in the winter months. It's a small open skate rink, no hockey, no extensive skating such as figure or speed. Mostly kids and not really worth the journey. Unless of course you love strapping the blades on for an out door effect. The lingering winter months have created the perfect atmosphere to spend quality time at the City Square Ice Rink. A positive experience for friends and family awaits you. Especially, if you enjoy the outdoor element. As close to a pond as living in the city will allow. Don't worry if you don't own ice skates, rental skates are available at the rink! General admission is $5, and skate rental is $3. UPCOMING SPECIAL DATES: on February 10th, boys skate free! On February 24th, Girls skate free! And don't forget, February 8th is glow skate from 6-10 p.m. Remember, weather permitting for ice rink hours. Call 586-574-4518 for details. 2/20

The other women in the group don't mind changing with the men but I prefer not to, so I requested a separate room (women's changing room, referee room, etc). The woman at the counter, who was less than pleasant, said she "couldn't let" me use a ref room or any other locker room in any of their FOUR rinks. She offered me a place to change with no skate mats, in the furthest rink (1) from the one we were playing on (4). This is totally unacceptable in 2025! I play in many different arenas around Detroit and Toledo, several in much less affluent cities than Troy, and they all provide me with some place to change that can accommodate my skates and is not a public restroom.

There are many reasons to like this facility, namely the large locker rooms, quality ice surfaces, and the pro-shop located in the lobby. The pro-shop is a separate business, but they have all of your equipment needs and can do a good job on your skate sharpening and repairs. There is a snack shop and plenty of vending machines, but there is no bar or alcohol sales. This rink has the full compliment of learn-to-skate, open-skate, youth hockey at all levels and mens' league. I didn't rate this 5 stars because the building is outdated and is missing a few of the modern touches of a true multi-plex. It's still a great place to play, practice or watch hockey.
