Worst experience ever my kids are vegan . They went to a school skating event and I ordered them pretzels as a snack options when ordering I specifically said no cheese because they are vegan . They still r received cheese with the pretzels and because of it we ended up leaving the event a hour early. Long time staple of the area sits relatively untouched as I remember it as a kid. They offer it all...skate rentals, locker rentals, food, party space rentals and more. We went to open skate recently and enjoyed the DJ booth and the energy. My three young kids also skated without any issues as everyone on the floor was respectful and having fun. Good Times! The only improvement I'd like to see made is a focus on some updating and better cleanliness. read more

Your typical skating rink. Skates and laces were very old, stinky, and ripped so bring your own skates if you have some. They have a snack bar and games, but we only skated. We were there for a school event. Neon/blackout was fun, reminded me of when I was young. The workers were very helpful and friendly with the kids, and they played good music. Great Skate - Fun times! - Skating Rinks Near Me - Roseville, Michigan

I brought a group of 20 high school students during spring break on a Tuesday for open skate From 1-4 pm. The price ($5 incl skates, $4 extra for blades) was right, why not? The crowd was full of young and old, black and white, all genuinely having a good time. The staff was wonderful. The young men skating were helping little ones to their feet, and they even tightened the brakes on my 30 yr old skates. Everyone was polite and considerate of the first timers. One of my students lost her phone in the bathroom and it was quickly retrieved at the dee jay booth. The manager Beverly as well as a regular patron encouraged me to keep skatin' and personally invited me to come back for morning adult skate sessions Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 12pm. Worse management ever! The so called manager was the rudest most obnoxious person I've encountered in a while. I attempted to ask why would you allow children to stand in the cold only to be turned away and was met with instant attitude. I understand we are in a COVID restricted times but either post your stipulations on your website or building. At 6:45p security announced no ticket no entry. We had arrived at 5:30 and waited in the cold and no social distancing only to be told over an hour later no ticket no entry. When I challenged this is when I was met with a wannabe manager and a extremely ignorant female who let her title of managing a roller rink go to her head. Lesson learned and as Missy Skate manager said "go somewhere else". Trust we won't be back. read more

Great Skate is a terrible place to go or give a party. The staff are lazy have bad attitudes and very unprofessional! I booked a party their for my daughter's bday and there was no hot water or heat. The refrigerator in the party room was covered with mold and they charge $400 and failed to mention all their hidden fees. The staff didn't assist or communicate through the entire party. They also cut the lights off completely on my guest without any communication on the party ending. I will never step foot at that's nasty outdated hole in the wall. read more

We booked the place for my step-kid's 20th birthday. It started off good but the experience deteriorated. Out of 20 people 2 of her friends came in drunk and had leave. I can't control her friends and I was all for sending them home. Afterwards if somebody fell they were instantly accused of being drunk. They weren't, most have never skated before, so *SURPRISE* we had a few falls-- including me. We booked from 6 to 8 p.m. and told we could stay afterwards for open skate. At 8 p.m. we told to leave and told to wait outside and pay readmission. They later said we could stay and not pay but they had been so rude we left. Outside of the 2 drunk fools we were orderly and polite so I don't understand the hostility. Next time I'd do Dave N Busters or some other place. read more

We went in and I didn't understand the lady she literally searched my purse threw away my gum and mints she asked if I wanted to take them to the car but I didn't understand they're trying to suck all your money the lockers... it didn't work and I had to do it a second time 75 cents wasted also when I got my skates they had things on the inside that were gonna hurt so I asked for new skates they gave me new ones and basically threw them on the counter and then later after a couple hours of skating my feet started hurting so I took one off and sat on the bench things and a security guard came and told me to put it back on yet people on the skating floor were racing pasting you and hitting you and staff was doing a dance thing and the music for the most part sucked . I wish I could give this negative stars. We booked a birthday party for my daughter. It was awful. I had a room full of parents that were kicked out because they would've had to pay $7/adult just to stand inside of the birthday room. Which left me in charge of all of the kids. The kids were hungry and even though they made us go in the party room, the food wasn't ready. They handed out about four slices of pizza while everyone else ran around or stood there bored and hungry. By the time every kid was fed, they tossed some ice cream at us and told us we had 7 minutes to cut the cake and eat it. The kids had barely had a bite of cake when we were swooped out of the room because we were out of time!! Then they tried to charge me extra for my HUSBAND being in the party room to help clean up! It was unorganized and cheap! I will NEVER be back to this god awful place. read more

Okay, seriously now...it's a roller rink. The rink isn't warped. The pricing is reasonable. Every time you turn around they're offering free admission or free skate rental on their Facebook fan page. The DJ spins good music. My five year old daughter and three year old son have two questions for me on nearly a daily basis: 1. "Daaaaaaddyyyyyy...remember that really fun time we went roller skating?" 2. "Daaaaaaddyyyyyy...when are we going roller skating again? Can we go today? What about tomorrow? This weekend?" It's roller rink food - pretzels, with or without gooey nacho cheese-like product. Chips...with or without gooey nacho cheese-like product. Something that passes the basic definition of the word "pizza". So if you're one of those obnoxious, annoying hipster doofuses (doofi? doofese? whatever) that insist on judging things from some lofty cloud in the sky where you are King High God Of Food Judging...stay away. Far, far away. For me, for the children, and for every other sane, rational being on the planet. It's a roller rink. Embrace your inner child, slap on some wheels, and forget the mortgage, the car payment, the price of gas, and every other stupid thing that weighs your brain down on a daily basis... ...just feel the moderately warm, stale air as you cruise through it...and remember a simpler time of feathered hair, video game controllers with only one button, and whistle along to "Winds of Change" as you stand by the soda machine waiting for the couples skate to end, chump... ...because you haven't learned how to skate backwards yet. Great skate needs to start making their rink employees do their jobs which is to keep everyone going in the right direction and keep the kids safe instead they are doing nothing but talking to other staff and dancing with the customers. I brought my stepdaughter here for a good time. When we walked up to the cashier she was not at her post which was fine but after security got her she walked away again without saying anything. I waited a minute and then knocked on the window. I asked can she wait on us and she snapped and told me to wait a minute. When she came back I calmly told her she was rude. She started arguing with me saying she was taking care of another situation. Which was all she had to say in the first place. She got loud and slammed the gate down saying she didn't want to serve me. She was already upset to begin with and took it out on me instead of exerting good customer service and self control! Great skate!!!! Gosh I love this place. I learned how to skate here. I had SEVERAL birthday parties here. This was my childhood. I learned how to become the skater I am here!! This place is awesome! The owners are so sweet and kind. The staffing are young adults but they're kind just like the owner. This place is kid friendly. It's a good activity for kids and teens to be themselves as well as hangout in a safe environment. Fantastic place! The management is so helpful, accommodating, and they genuinely care about their customers. Bev, the manager, is the best! I rent space here weekly for fitness classes, and the facility is always clean top to bottom. I'm there during school parties and it is always a fun, calm, safe atmosphere. My children and I went for a birthday party. They had never skated before and were a little hesitant at first. Once they were on the floor skating they had a blast.... They fell a lot....and got right back up. Not once did I hear.... MOM can I have the phone. The place was very clean and the teenagers who were there, were respectful. And BEST of all.... We have been here several times and it's always really fun. The staff try really hard to make your experience an enjoyable one. They have plenty of open skate options to choose from & the prices are pretty good, depending on which day you go. There's a great snack bar with plenty of options & some arcade games as well. My kids love this place. Roller skating is dieing. I took my kids here over the summer a couple times and they had a blast once they got it down. They have classes on how to "roller skate". The instructor is awesome he must have been skating for his entire life. Not to mention this a great way for the kids to exercise and get them away from the video games. And it was really sad when I realized how old I was, when they put on the hokey pokey song and I was only one that knew how to do the dance. read more

This place is terrible I went here with a group of friends and we where harrased all day. And if you want to come here DO NOT wear saggy pants without a belt or a crop top. My shirt was fine and you couldn't see me stomach but when I sat down to eat u could see me back and the lady said I needed a jacket like the people kept coming to my group of friends harassing us and I didn't feel like we where treated right . I would suggest not going on a weekend. We went today and they had so many birthday parties you could barely move or skate. The floor was so overcrowded my 8 year old kept getting knocked down. Then, the birthday parties got to take over the floor for some games - keeping us out of the rink. Then, 18 and over only skated for a few songs. Then, only people with glow sticks. We left after 2 hours. Of which, I think we actually skated 20 minutes (if you call it that with 2 yr olds falling in front of you and aggressive skaters bumping you). disappointing! read more

We came for open skate. Was debating between two and three stars. They do have skates, and a rink, so they get some stars. And open skate, including skate rental, was $5, so that's pretty great. But other than that... The place seems kinda old. It has the usual sensory overload that old-fashioned skate places have (flashing colored lights; loud, thumping music.) But what really annoyed me was that they kicked random groups off the rink every few songs. I guess it's supposed to be more "fun" for the groups that get to stay on the rink, but it was annoying for our family. First the boys had to get off for a few minutes, then the girls, then all of us since we didn't have birthdays this season, or because we didn't purchase overpriced glow sticks from their concession. Ridiculous. They should warn you before you come in that you'll have to keep getting of the rink. Also, the lockers are 75c which is fine, but if you want to access something from the locker before you're ready to empty it out, you'll have to pay again to open and close it. Other than that, it wasn't too crowded, and the people there were considerate skaters considering that we were there with little kids who didn't know how to skate and were going really slowly. They did have inline skates available for a small additional fee. read more

The manager on 11.18.17 was amazing we didn't end up skating cause it was 15 and youger I mistakenly thought my younger kids wouldn't have a issue once.we.got there we quickly realized that my four year was not going to be able to handle it. My mistake as a parent I took full responsibility. I have a extremely shy 8 year old who has horrible anxiety and because she did so good on the first quarter in second grade I told her that I would take it her Great Skate we didn't tell them where we were going until we pulled up and she was so excited. The manager that night saw the looks of my kids faces when we said we weren't skating, and she instantly tried to make my kids feel better and not upset. She took us into her office and gave us passes to come back the next day, were it wouldn't be so crazy with older kids. There were still tears but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. If you're a parent you know the disappointment when your kids think they're going somewhere and something happens and you can't this lady I didn't get her name though instantly tried to make the situation better and as a parent nothing compares to that when it comes to good customer service. i was so shocked with the service here tonight. me & my friend came here to skate & we were stopped by the owners grandson i guess saying we can not get in because of what we were wearing. the picture below shows what i was wearing .... i was so shocked i asked questions & he continued to give an attitude saying we need to change ... as i was waking away he decieded to shout go home assholes ..... we are 19 year old girls harassed by a grown man at this establishment .... good luck read more

This place is a joke (don't go) management and security are rude and not willing to help. They have a belt policy ( boys have to we're belts which I get Totally ) My 13 yr old went there wearing the proper waist size (with adjustable built in belt) and pants around his waist like they were designed not his butt and security made him take his shoe laces out to use as a belt and then when that would not work he says that's ur problem get out of line. But he lets many people in with sagging jogging pants. Then I call management and they stated we have a belt policy I understand the policy but how about a proper wearing pants policy. I love this place but I think if parents don't play a big part in their children life they should not allow their children to be drop off for theses wonderful people to babysitt your bad butt children fighting and bullying of other people children are not excepted and police presents on a Saturday night is not normal for children that are respectable and raised so if you can't control your children keep them home on Saturday nights from 8 to 11 some of us want our children to have a safe place to have good clean wholesome fun. read more
