If you are looking for a great smokehouse in the region, Big Bone is the place to go. They have a wide assortment of smoked meat, including beef, pork, chicken, wings, sausage, etc. We liked their food so much that we had them cater our wedding. All our guests raved about how good the food was. One couple even had them cater their own celebration the next summer.

My Elvis platter ... ribs, wings, pulled pork, fries, and the sides. This was about 2/3 of my platter.

Have to give huge COVD-19 kudos to Big Bone in Keswick. There are enough great reviews on the award winning quality of Big Bone BBQ so I won't recreate what has already been written with the exception of - same great quality! Covid style, Big Bone has gone all our. Their restaurant is closed to the public to help reduce exposure of covid to keep the staff and the customers safe. All orders are delivered curb side -- call in your order, and you food and contact free debit is brought with arms reach of your car. I think I am going to miss this curb side service when covid is over. Keep up the great job BBB.

My friends and I came on a Wednesday afternoon around 2 pm. It was empty, save for a few folks coming in for take-out. Service was great, the servers and everybody behind the counter were very friendly and kind. Ribs: 4/5. They weren't fall off the bone tender but they were tasty and importantly... Very hot! Right off the oven. Wings: 4. 5/5. Good wings, tasty sauce. Sides: 3.5/5. Coleslaw was decent. Nothing special, nothing bad. Beans aren't my thing, but again they were average. Fries tasted like Costco fries. But they were served hot. Massive portion of food! So even though the food tasted only average for me, the food was made fresh and served very hot. And the portions were huge! Very happy with the meal and would come back.

This was the first time I ate in at Big Bone, usually we just grab take out and head home. The staff were very friendly and the food came out quickly even though it was a busy long weekend, with many takeout orders. I really like that they have a built in paper towel station at each table it's so convenient when eating their wicked wings. The garlic bread was awesome and always, the same goes for their fries and wings.

A nice drive away from Toronto yet still close to amenities, this place is a must stop! We ordered 1/2 pound of brisket and pulled pork and ribs. Everything is melt in your mouth and full of delicious smoked flavour. It's basically another level! The ribs have this caramelized outside and smoked tender inside. Thick and juicy! I've been to the location in Markham and it was good, but this location is bomb!!!! You definitely have to go get some of this BBQ! Staff is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is lazy and relaxed, like I'm down south without a care or worry. If only the outside temperature would match!

My parents tried this for the first time a few weeks ago, so when I visited them for Father's Day weekend, we decided to grab some take-out from there. When they went on their own (dine in), they got the Big Bone Combo ($21.95) which comes with 1/2 a rack of ribs, 1 lb of wings, a lot of battered french fries, 2 small slices of cornbread, 1 small serving of baked beans, and 1 small serving of coleslaw. They said the service was quick and pleasant. It was more than enough food for the two of them (and my dad eats more than the average person) so they took a lot of it home to eat later. This time, we got the exact same thing but for the three of us, and the portion was just right to split among 3. There were 7 large ribs, 10 wings, and enough fries where each person got quite a lot. The tiny portions of beans and coleslaw don't really divide out well (they are definitely single-serving portions) but otherwise, it worked well for each person to get quite a large plate of food. In terms of taste, it was all quite good. My mom can't tolerate spicy and doesn't really like flavoured wings, so we got the 'original smoked wings' variety, which were fine, but I'd have preferred one of their flavoured variations such as dry cajun, honey mustard, or hot creamy parm. The ribs were nice and saucy and had a decent amount of meat on the bone. The fries were really nice, and while I barely got any coleslaw, it was creamy and rich. After tax, that works out to about $8 a person if you divide it by 3, and so I'd say it's worth it if you get it to go (eating in, you have to add beverages, tip, etc). If you like baked beans or coleslaw, I suggest paying 1 or 2 bucks more and getting a few more of those as sides, so each person has a full side. I would return -- maybe to try their burgers or their other kinds of wings. I took a picture of their menu. I assume the pricing and availability varies by location, so assume it only applies to the Keswick location.

Beef brisket sandwich (only 9.95!)

I think the food is pretty decent, but i should of asked for different sauces. The brisket sandwich was good but the sauce they mixed in it was way too sweet as well as the smoked wing sauce. So if you like some spice or saltiness, then get them to coat it in something else. The lemon pepper wings were really bland but cooked well, didnt taste lemon or pepper. Maybe a lemon slice would be a good adding. Service was really good and everyone was friendly, will try again soon the location in my area and switch up the sauces option.

Pulled pork plate. Portions are very big. Leftovers for sure.

This would probably have been a 5 star rating if there wasn't just a slight smacking of "Canadian-ness" to some of the items. From my experience Canadian's have no clue what good BBQ is and thankfully this place is owned by 2 Americans. Seems like Canada has fallen in love with shitty microwave style pulled pork and you can find it almost anywhere these days *cough*cough* The Smokery in Stouffville *cough*cough*. Had the beef brisket sandwich, which I believe said comes sliced but what I got was pretty much pulled and then sauced. Would have liked to be able to choose the amount of sauce I wanted (BBQ purists will tell you that BBQ should be served without sauce allowing the diner to apply the amount they deem appropriate). A little too much sauce for me but the flavor were pretty much bang on. French fries were the battered kind, which aren't my favorite either but pretty damn good none the less. Beans tasted essentially like out of a can, but I didn't mind so much. The portions here are really big. Ate the whole sandwich which was probably over 1LB. But couldn't finish the mountain of fries I got. All in all, I'd say this is pretty much as good as casual BBQ will ever be in Canada. You can get way way way better BBQ from the back of a truck in Austin, TX, but for the great white north, this is great. If you have a hankoring for BBQ, anyone of the Big Bone locations has you covered. If you live around Stouffville area and are considering The Smokery in town, TRUST ME, save your money and make the 20min drive up to Keswick or Newmarket for Big Bone. Night and day difference in quality and about half the price. One quick side note, my good buddy had his engagement party catered by Big Bone and it was epic. Great stuff.
