So good These are…read morenext level hot dogs. As someone who frequently consumes big dogs for next to nothing from those giant club grocery stores and thinks they are good, I've been schooled. Doggystyle offers regular sized dogs for more money but what you get is exceptional. It is the difference between cramming food down your throat vs really appreciating a good dog. Doggystyle has identified 12 regions around the US that offer their versions of hot dogs. Most of us are aware of the Chicago dog, but there are many, many more. I looked over their website before I arrived and decided on their Detroit dog and their Oklahoma dog. I encourage you to look at the great photos on their website. They all looked so appealing. You order at the counter, and they bring you your food when it's ready, in my case it was 6 or 7 minutes. What attracted me to the Oklahoma dog was the BBQ sauce on top. It was sweet with bits of bacon or pork, with cheese and grilled onions. The slightly toasted bun was perfect. So good. I picked the Detroit dog because it looked like a really good chili cheese dog with raw onions on top, and it was. It was even just a little spicy. It was another excellent choice on my part. Maybe they are all excellent choices. Love the concept, love the food.

Great wing options and we tried their cilantro garlic version--delish and different. They had about 10 wing options--wow! Some nice happy hour drink specials--including a great Old Fashioned with Forrester. Calusa IPA beer in big mug. The big hit was their special Irishman burger, really big with a tasty whiskey bacon jam and tons of arugula. A truly special burger. One super nice woman bartender/server made our drinks and brought us the tasty food. We will definitely return.

May 1, 2026 - two for dinner before a show at Florida Studio Theater…read more My first visit. An easy walk from the FST parking and the FST theater. Drinks very reasonable and decent volume/quantity/pour. A buck for my soda water with lemon..... a bargain for the driver and non-drinker! The boss got 10 wings, 1/2 parm cheese and 1/2 barbecue. The reputation is best wings in Sarasota??? She like flats only and we paid $1 for just flats. This was a very nice option as I the whole food plant based "spartan vegan" will usually cringe at leaving those drums behind or wasted??? I did try one of each though. I believe they are baked and then before serving deep fried to crisp them up and heat them. Sadly the barbecued ones where burnt (see picture) and a little too crisped. The meat and most of the wing and the flavor was pretty good. 5/10 The parm wings where actually the opposite and the meat and wing undercooked, but the deep fry dunking crisped up the skin which would have been really raw and rubbery. These were also seasoned nicely and tasty. 8/10 Both easily fantastic with attention to pre-cooking and cooking? I got the Cup o' Spuds (sweet potato) in a little basket. These were pretty deeply fried and a few blackened/burnt but were nice and hot and flavorful and couple burned gave it some character and was a big deal. The menu is very limited for whole food plant based, vegetarian, vegan, nutritarian mix and match or anything....... so went with one of the three salads. the Side Salad I got an entree size. Romaine, diced tomatoes, cucumbers and black olives and a balsamic. My server missed my point after the second ask about adding "protein". I would have LOVED to have seen some black, pinto, kidney, navy, garbanzo, or any kind of BEANS to add to this salad as a "PROTEIN" or a quinoa, or even scoop of rice or edamame or even a few chunks of toasted or grilled tofu!!!! The salad ingredients were fresh and a nice amount of each. Dressing good but I only used a little since I thought I had asked for Balsamic Vinegar (no oil) and this was a Balsamic "Dressing" with actually quite a bit of oil. Service by "Nightime Bar B" was very attentive and friendly. REALLY good! Fielded our myriad of questions and we were never wanting or waiting. We had a long discussion about the wings which is why my wife wanted to go here. Maybe I should have put this first.......but the pricing was EXTREMELY reasonable especially for Main Street and I guess technically IN Season? The drinks about $12 for a Cosmo, Tito and club $10 ? Tax, tags, tip at 20% plus and we got out under $70 for two!!! VERY nice! Good spot. We will be back!!! As we have just about completed the Mainstreet and City of Sarasota circuit these guys are in the "rotation" for a before cabaret or full production play at the FST.

The dinner menu features four salads, each priced between $17 and $19, with optional add-ons: fish for $11, avocado for $4, or grilled chicken for $6. Entrées range from a vegan beetroot risotto to a wagyu burger, priced between $19 and $28. I ordered the Baja burrito--filled with avocado, red cabbage, carrot, cashew cheese, and wrapped in a massaged collard green burrito. It was tasty, but it's definitely a dish best appreciated by vegans who truly enjoy collard greens. My husband chose the goat cheese salad, a mix of organic greens, goat cheese mousse, pickled shallots, candied pecans, preserved grapes, house-made crackers, mustard pearls, and maple vinaigrette, also $18. The goat cheese was extremely creamy and paired beautifully with the light, airy toasted pieces served alongside. It made for the perfect light entrée. For dessert, he had the pumpkin chia pudding--creamy, lightly spiced, and satisfying without being heavy--so we ended the night feeling perfectly content, not overly full. There was a gentleman playing the saxophone just outside the door, a bit hard to carry on a conversation at times but very adorable when he played happy birthday for a little boy who clapped for joy. Very heartwarming moment. Go and enjoy a very healthy dinner.

The staff is extremely attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was wonderful, I have eaten a lot of food this year but when I say the cornmeal crusted Gulf Oysters appetizer was in the top 5 of best things I have eaten this year I mean it! The perfect balance of salty and umami with grated cheese, sweet peppers on top of a crunchy base sprinkled with capers. My dinner mate and I literally could not stop audibly Mmm'ing as we ate it. The potato salad was delicious and a great accompaniment. I thoroughly enjoyed their happy hour selection as well which allowed us to try their muffuletta sandwich along with their boudin balls, two offerings we have never had before, without committing to the full size. Both were delicious and the bun on the mini Mufuletta was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside in all of the best ways (I would not be upset if they just served these buns as a side). Overall, Lucky 8 made me feel pretty Lucky to try their food. This is an awesome lunch/dinner spot in Sarasota and you definitely have to give it a try. Also if you like Abita Beer they have it on tap here! Highly recommend the TurboDog or the Pecan if you enjoy a good ale!

Serving would've been much too small for me but was fitting for her. Service was good, nice ambiance and food overall was good. Perfect place to watch a football game on a Sunday but a little small overall. I would return if I lived in this area year round.

They're conveniently located on Fruitville Rd near the Sprouts market and they're a perfect spot to stop by whether you need a quick bite or on your way to or from the beach in the area. There isn't anything I've tried here that has disappointed. Note that their hours of operation do change every so often so check on Google before visiting. I think my favorite of all the options is the Portobello mushroom melt. It does have a considerable amount of moisture from the tofu, portobello mushroom and spinach combination. I've learned it's best to have it at the restaurant and lifting the bread ever so slightly once your unwrap the sandwich so that it releases the extra heat before you enjoy it. It'll save you from a burn! I like asking for tempeh "bacon" or soy curls as add-ons depending on which item I'm ordering. Tempeh "bacon" works great on sandwiches and soy curls in the wraps. I also like their fried mushroom sandwich which is supposed to mimic a Chick-fil-A sandwich because it's satisfying but not heavy. Their brown sugar Oatmylk iced coffee was nice because it didn't taste sugary and I liked their iced tea option that was the very berry forward one. They have good sweets also like their banana chocolate chip muffin. I'm looking forward to trying their vegan tiramisu.

I was seated facing a wall so I didn't get a good long look at my surroundings but between what I did see and looking at photos posted on Yelp the theme seems to be chickens. Our server was friendly and available to answer any questions as we spent time looking over the menu. I settled on The Hitman, a double patty smashed burger with American cheese, hen sauce, fried mozzarella, Nueske's bacon, with a side of garlic parm fries. It isn't listed on the online menu but there is a note the menu changes frequently so it may not match the day's offering. Let me start by saying that two of the people at my table got salads and were disappointed that there was too much lettuce and too little other stuff. With that out of the way, let me talk about The Hitman, which I loved. What is Nueske bacon? This is a special smoked flavorful bacon made by the Nueske family. Fork & Hen uses thick cut, and there were two slices on my burger. My burger towered so high there was no hope of picking it up, so I attacked it with knife and fork. Being made with Focaccia bread certainly added to the height, but so did a thick block of mozzzrella cheese. The cheese, melted on the inside and crispy on the outside, was substantial. I would be careful biting into a hot block of melted cheese, think pizza mouth. In my photo I broke into one corner to show that is cheese, so much cheese. The burger patty part topped with American cheese was by itself great, like you might find at a home cookout or Smashburgers. Other toppings were there but for me this was meat and a lot of cheese. And as much bread as you want. I loved my surprising good cheeseburger.
