The salad had a good amount of fine bulgar, which was perfect because I don't like when tabbouleh salad is all parsley! The stew is mainly split yellow peas over rice. There is a grilled eggplant on top as garnish and it was smoky and delicious, I wanted more of that! I would suggest phoning ahead if you want to do take out. They happened to be busy on the Sunday evening that we went, so we had to wait 25 mins. for the order to be prepared. The dining room is small and cute. They have a wall of customer's comments which is fun to read. A vegan Persian restaurant is definitely a unique find in Fredericton and a nice change from other restaurants in the area!

In case you were wondering what type of food you can get at "Ethiopean", just look to the name…read more Located in the Northside Farmers' Market (open Saturday and Sunday), Ethiopean is a tiny stand offering a wonderful mix of traditional Ethiopean "stews" and other dishes including beef, chicken, lentils, kale, potatoes and green beans. A 3-combo meal comes with your choice of three of the former, plus two generous portions of injera, the spongy bread used to scoop up the wonderful stews. On this visit, I tried the beef, lentils and kale. The beef was nicely spiced with a rich red/brown sauce, the kale was nicely sauteed to remove the bitter bite and the lentils were creamy. I recommend by-passing the utensils and relying on the injera to act as your spoon. Speaking of the injera, it was soft and held together perfectly to pick up the fillings. If you are looking to try something new in the Fredericton area, make a visit to this market for some authentic Ethiopean!
