Hands down the best bagel shop in town! Everything is always fresh and delicious every time you go in! They always have an amazing assortment of homemade cream cheeses to choose from and if your not a fan of bagels they have other goodies too! The people are ALWAYS super friendly and kind. They do tend to get a little busy but they always do there absolute best to keep the lines moving so it's not a long wait time! If you look for good customer service this place has it. They care for there customers and will always go beyond standard expectations to make sure there customers are leaving happy. Great place! Went for the first time today and really enjoyed it. Got two delicious bagels with cream cheese (tomato basil and onion), and two coffees to go. The cream cheese is spot-on, very smooth and spreadable. Great selection. Quiet courteous staff. Con: No brew times on coffee. The bagels are delicious. I always order blueberry bagels and for cream cheese is either strawberry or blueberry they are my favorites . I highly recommend if you are looking for a good bagel place definitely go there. It's a quick breakfast and is cheap. Just keep in mind that they put lots of cream cheese if you don't like a lot of cream cheese just tell the girls who work there, I personally love Loya of cream cheese . It's good enough that I go regularly, but I don't love it. The staff is hit or miss. One lady (who has been there a long time) is very short, sharp, and doesn't smile. Some of the other staff is nice. Other times they seems confused. They don't dress very professionally, which isn't a big deal, but sometimes I think the younger staff pushes the limits on that. The place also doesn't have a clear line of service- where to order, where to wait for your order, where your order will come up. They run out of bagels and coffee sometimes and the sandwiches are really expensive. That said, I go at least once a month. Decent coffee, good bagels. I am so thankful there is a nice bagel shop around me (live in Hoffman Estates). Before finding this place I went to a different "bagel" shop where they gave me cream cheese in a Philadelphia cream cheese container. What!!??? If I wanted that I'd visit Mariano's and make my own bagel. Fortunately a few months later I came here. I love this place! I've only ever gotten the everything bagel and salt bagel with scallion cream cheese, but that's because those are my favorites and I like to stick to what I know. Their cream cheese is homemade and delicious (I'm actually eating one as we speak). I appreciate that they are NOT cheap with their cream cheese. I get so mad when places nickel and dime you for their food or just plain out do not give you and adequate amount. Here, I have always been given a generous amount of cream cheese and I hope they never change that!! Two other reasons I like this place is because it is kept very clean looking and the young ladies working the counter have always been super sweet! I really love this Big Apple Bagels! I love coming here for great breakfast meals. The menu here is really awesome, they are full of fresh and awesome food, and they have so huge selection to choose from. You can find so many amazing breakfast at this place that can surely satisfy your cravings and fill you up. They are the best breakfast spot in this whole area of Elgin. Their location is so near, very easy to find, and you can visit in just a few minutes from your area. You will absolutely love the place and the ambiance of it inside. It is very welcoming, relaxing, and their designs are interesting. While enjoying the food you can also enjoy the environment. We often travel over 10+ miles to enjoy Saturday breakfast here. The dinning area is always clean. The staff is always smiling and very friendly. We noticed that they have several "regulars" they know by name. We usually enjoy their iced latte's and bagel breakfast sandwiches. I decided to go here based on other reviews and I'm glad I did! I only visit in the morning after the rush (around 10am) and I haven't had a problem with long wait times or inattentive staff. I actually find the ladies working there very friendly. I go probably once a week since I discovered the place!! Love the bagels and enormous amount of cream cheese- messy but so fresh! The best bagels, made every day. Breakfast sandwiches, I get the egg and cheese on the Jalepeno bagel. YUM!! The cheesecake muffins are to die for. I buy them by the four pack. If you are a Latte lover you can name your shot. Most Latte's are a two shot but at Big Apple Bagel in Elgin you call your shot, I get three. I was just forced into another visit and was reminded that you should not go here if you like toasted bagels. I am not sure if this is on purpose or not but when you ask for a toasted bagel, they put it through the toaster. Magically it comes out lukewarm and soft! Amazing! Love the owner and her store. I also enjoy trying the daily bagel & cream cheese samples they always pair together. Seems like you can't go wrong with any of the menu choices. The staff always seems to be in good spirits and happy to help. Reasonable prices and you can always find a coupon to use. Just wish the coffee selection was managed better.
