The best part is how clean the park is kept. I've never seen trash lying around, and people have always been respectful during my visits with my son. The parking lot is a decent size too. My only complaint is the bathroom. It's pretty smelly and almost never has toilet paper. I'd advise anyone coming here to use the restroom beforehand, or at the very least bring your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer.

I appreciate that the water fountain is clean and in working condition also that they have a doggie bowl for our family pets. That was well thought out Also it is kind of handicap accessible for kids that need extra assistance. They have ramps onto equipment and they have a rocking type ride that a child who was there in a chair was able to enjoy. It would be great if a swing for them could be added idk how but something that can lock in a chair and let them also enjoy that. Rosamond Summit is the peak of the second-highest elevation in Rosamond (the highest elevation in…read moreRosamond is Willow Springs Butte). Rosamond is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California. According to the USPS, portions of Rosamond also include Tropico Village and Willow Springs. Rosamond is the Westernmost valley of the Mojave Desert. The elevation at Rosamond Summit is approximately 3,091 feet according to the USGS. The elevation gain required to reach the summit ranges between 580 feet to 710 feet from the nearest paved roads, and is dependent on the initial entry point chosen for this hike. Reaching this summit requires a low-level hike, typically referred to as a class 1 hike by hikers. This summit is easily reachable within one half an hour for most skill levels starting from the nearest paved road. The majority of this hike is taken by following dirt pathways, but occasionally the pathway requires travel in gravel-covered rocks. Since I would classify this as a class 1 hike, travel to the summit does not require your hands for climbing or any other rock-climbing gear. Hiking to this summit is enjoyable, and is generally easy for a novice hiker that is physically fit and able. This hike is an excellent way to get a little exercise followed by the rewarding 360 degree view at the top. Although reaching the summit only takes about a half an hour, my suggestion would be to budget an hour and a half for the entire round trip so you can enjoy some rewarding time at the top. As with any hike, it is important to be aware of safety considerations. For me, this always includes telling someone where I am going, going during safe weather conditions, going during daylight hours, and bringing the appropriate supplies. At a bare minimum, your supplies should include water, a fully charged cellphone, ID, keys, sunglasses, and at least one good walking stick. Other items may be beneficial during hot days, such as a good hat and sun block, but be extra careful on hot days since it is easy to get heat exhaustion in the desert. A good walking stick is a must, and can serve multiple purposes, not only for increased balance and stability along the gravel-covered rocks, but also for additional protection. On rare occasions I have seen coyotes along this hike, and this can be a little scary and unexpected. Other animals seen may include various birds, gophers, rabbits, and snakes. For me, my walking stick is also beneficial during my return, after my legs are more tired and it is too easy to gain unwanted speed while descending. In short, this is a relatively easy hike, but one must still take the appropriate safety precautions. As one would expect, this hike is within desert terrain, so your view is mostly of tumbleweeds, dirt, gravel and rocks. Although this may sound boring to some, the scenery is rather beautiful to me. The view at the top is breathtaking, and your efforts are rewarded with clear visibility for several miles, all the way to the horizon.

Here's a breakdown of this rating, which is primarily based on my experience with the "Ironbirds" team, which is just one team within the entire league: - Team volunteer dedication: 5 stars - Team volunteer enthusiasm: 5 stars - Team volunteer friendliness: 5 stars - Team volunteer safety: 5 stars - Team volunteer game knowledge: 5 stars - Team volunteer encouragement: 5 stars - Team parent friendliness: 5 stars - Other team parents: 4 stars - Overall league organization: 4 stars - League field maintenance: 2 stars - Overall value: 5 stars From the breakdown of this review one can quickly see how my rating could change from year to year since this overall rating is greatly dependent on the volunteers that are leading our team. This year we were really impressed with the volunteers that ran the "Ironbirds" team, which were about a half dozen folks. Our team consisted of young boys and girls, which are all around 5 to 7 years old. Our volunteers obviously had their hands full since organization of kids this age can easily turn into "herding cats." Despite the potential challenges, our team volunteers were really amazing. They always showed-up to team games and practices, exhibiting their enthusiasm and dedication toward meeting their commitments and leaving all the kids with a positive experience. They always showed friendliness and encouragement to all the young kids, guiding them on the best strategies for a successful and honest game with their teammates, along with fostering a good-sportsmanship mentality. The volunteers also continuously showed their attention to safety, making sure the kids did not get too rowdy or play inappropriately with the bats or other equipment, and they made sure that all the players drank plenty of water. If there was anything that really stands out as needing improvement it would be the fields. They are just OK, but they could really use far more attention. Now in all fairness, I understand that this is the desert and that the state of California has a water shortage, but a good portion of the grass at the fields here is dying, especially depending on the field that you are playing on. There is also a terrible problem with gophers, which should be controlled. This is a safety concern, primary since all of the holes and mounds could easily cause someone to twist their ankle. These are two things that need improvement, but their contribution to this overall rating is minimal compared to the high ratings elsewhere. In summary, our experience with the Rosamond Little League this year was worthy of a 5-star rating, primarily due to the positive experience from within one of the many teams of this league. Our experiences in previous years have varied, but have been mostly positive overall. If you have kids interested in little league, I highly encourage you to explore this league as an option.

Rosamond Park was such a cheerful and family friendly place to visit. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly with people of all ages enjoying the day. Teenagers would love how easygoing and social it feels because it is a place where you can play talk and enjoy the outdoors. The service from park staff was minimal but everything was clean and organized. The value was great because it is free and full of things to do. The quality of the sports courts and playgrounds was solid and everything felt safe. The selection of activities was perfect for teens with sports open fields and places to relax. I only visited once before writing this review but it felt like a great place for teenagers. Teenagers would love it because it is fun social and easygoing.

Saw people taking dance lessons in the community center. There were plenty of picnic tables with grills and trash can. Overall, appears to be a very active, clean park in Quartz Hill.
