Go to Morgan Hill for an FSC test. Not Stevens Creek.

I was denied taking the FSC test because of the lack of "manpower" in the store. Keep in mind my friend and I went in and there were two managers and 2-3 employees who weren't busy. The test takes about 10-15 minutes to administer and isn't that much of a hassle. However we were denied the test by the taller older manager just to then be told that he would administer the test if I bought a firearm right after. Excuse me but what type of backwards logic is that? You don't have the manpower to administer a small test, but you the manpower to sell a firearm that takes around an hour or so?? We decided to head to Morgan hill instead but before that he said that we had to be 21 years and over to take that test, and that wouldn't have been an issue but he said it in a condescending tone that was uncalled for. (I'm 22 years old and also if someone was looking to take the FSC test then they'd know the requirements to do so) I don't know his name but he's the lengthier, older manager and if you see him just know that he won't be much help. I highly recommend taking the drive to Morgan hill where a nicer manager named Charles G. will take care of you and help you through and through with RESPECT.

This is my go to place when I need sporting supplies fast and at a decent price. I would give it 4 stars but most the time the help their doesn't really want to give you the time of day. If you know what you're looking for, run in and get and run out.

The customer service was horrible and the GM Erik was so rude and for no reason. We went in to buy a weight set with bench and asked for assistance when he began to shut us down and took the tags. At some point he went to the back and came back with this torn/ retapped box. When we asked for an unopened box and expressed we don't want one that's been previously owned he said "oh it's the only one left and it is just so heavy the boxes can't withstand." So we continued with the purchases even though we went against our better judgment. When we got home we opened the box only to discover it was previously used/assembled. There were damages on the parts, bags were town open, and even a zip lock with the the tiny washers and screws in it. We IMMEDIATELY took it back along with the other items we purchased. Worse experience I've ever had and would not recommend anyone coming here. Your better off just buying on Amazon. In the future Erik if you plan to resell returned items just be honest. Integrity holds more value.

Big 5 Sporting on Stevens Creek. Great staff especially Ana T.

"Best Footwear Experience--Ask for Steve!"…read more I've been to countless running and shoe stores over the years, but my experience at the Campbell Sports Basement was on an entirely different level. If you are looking for new shoes, do yourself a favor and find Steve in the footwear department. His knowledge is genuinely unmatched. He didn't just point me to the newest or most expensive model; he took the time to understand the mechanics of my feet and explain the nuances of every shoe we discussed. He even had me running down the aisles in various pairs to ensure the fit and feel were perfect. It was easily the best customer service I've ever had, better than some shoe speciality shop! To top it off, I found out about their "Love Your Purchase" return policy. It's a total game-changer--knowing I can actually test these out and bring them back if they don't work for my feet gives me so much peace of mind. Between Steve's expertise and the store's return policy, I won't be going anywhere else for my gear.

Posting this as a cautionary tale for anyone buying shoes at Dick's Sporting Goods - Sunnyvale…read more This would have been a one star rating if not for Xavier in Footwear. Excellent service and attitude. I bought a pair of On Cloud shoes and within 5 days realized they were too big. The issue only showed up in real-world use: when walking downhill my foot slid forward into the toe box. That's not something you reliably catch by taking a few steps indoors. I went back to do a simple exchange (not a refund). The shoes were clean and in excellent condition. The only visible difference was very slight yellowing on the outsole contact pads -- noticeable under their bright store lighting but not dirty, or damaged. At first I was told the exchange would be fine. After further inspection, they reversed course and said the shoes were not "resaleable" due to wear. I spoke with multiple people (each initially identifying themselves as "the manager" before clarifying their role), and after a lot of back and forth the best options offered were: * 15% off a replacement pair, or * $60 store credit as a "no receipt return" value (they said this reflects the lowest recent selling price and excludes clearance). I ultimately took the $60 credit because my time is worth something and I needed the correct size. But the key takeaway is this: If you buy shoes here, assume you cannot test them outdoors -- even briefly -- without risking being denied an exchange. The 90-day return policy sounds generous, but in practice footwear appears to need to look completely unworn to qualify. I'm sharing this so others don't make the same assumption I did.

I scheduled online to complete the ppwk to pick up a firearm for Wednesday, April 29th @ 9:00am. I know that getting there early on the weekdays is the key to not having to wait in line. I got there about 9:02am. I told the gentleman, a middle-aged Latino man with a gray beard and mustache, at the gun counter that I had a 9:00am appointment. He told me that he wasn't ready and was still setting up and to join the queue by registering at the kiosk. I registered at the kiosk and got a text from Bass Pro at 9:35am that my 9:00am appointment had been cancelled. Now, I was number five in the queue and it was now 10:45am. I had to leave for another appointment. I was not a happy camper. Driving to my next appointment, I called for a manager. I told Marcos the situation and he would get back to me to investigate what transpired. He called and left a message. His message relayed that I didn't get there until 9:16am and that there were several customers ahead of me so my appointment could not be accepted. That was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard; someone was trying to cover their @ss or @asses. This will be my last purchase at Bass Pro stores and I will shop from an independent store where they take accountability and take care of their customers.
