    Cheeseburger w/Bacon

Went to the Bierhaus for dinner, luckily we went tonight because if we had went yesterday they would have been out of pretty much everything. The smoker wasn't running tonight so what they are known for we weren't able to try. I got a Cheeseburger with Bacon and Fries. It was your typical bar burger. My sister got the Oktoberfest Sausage and enjoyed it. Will have to come back some time when the smoker is working (I assume weekends only).

This was a return visit that was much overdue. If you don't know about the Benedictine Brewery and…read moreyou love artfully hand crafted beer? You need to become acquainted. The monks of the Mount Angel Benedictine Abbey are practicing a centuries old tradition... As part of their daily observation of life, they brew beer. Let me tell you it is absolutely outstanding. The grounds are breathtaking, on a little hillside outside of Mount Angel, just under an hour south Portland. I highly recommend that you take one of the more scenic drives instead of just blasting down I-5, but you do you. It's not a restaurant per se. But there are snacks. And there is a large selection of beer. My partner and I already knew that we had no idea what we wanted because we want everything and that would make driving home extremely difficult. So we opted for the only logical choice: the sampler Their sampler boards come with either four or five slots, and they provide a 4 ounce pour into the sampler glass. We each got a five spot board, and two additional drinking glasses so that we could pour splits, and were thus able to sample 10 of the brews on tap. We also decided that snacks were in order so we got the spinach, artichoke dip, times two. You order at the counter and when your order is prepared, you are called and can pick it up. It's a very simple set up, harkening back to a simpler time in many ways. Some of the taps vary seasonally. Some of them are occasionally just out. I can't tell you what you're going to find. But I can tell you if the Hairshirt, the Half Cloak, and the Little Tyrant are on tap? You definitely want to sample those. This is not typical mid-grade Portland IPA... These are exceptional brews across a variety of styles Highly recommended! I go down every time I get a chance and suggest that you might want to consider that as well

This is a great dive bar and very much to my liking. It's been here forever, or for at least as…read morelong as I've been coming to Mt Angel. It's pretty much a locals hangout but the staff and patrons are friendly towards outsiders and even greasy Bikers like me. Good selection of beers. The menu is limited so I usually go with fish and chips or a burger. They do run specials and you can never go wrong ordering a special. There's several good saloons in Mt Angel which is not surprising. The burb is sort of the beer capitol of Oregon. 30 miles south of Portland and 20 miles north of Salem so handy enough to get to. But you are really out in the country here. Just getting here and back is a very nice ride. Well, until you hit I-5.

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience…read more I honestly don't even know how an experience this ridiculous happens. First, my party had to wait about 10 minutes just to get acknowledged by a bartender before we could even order. Once we finally got served, I ordered a beer and spent some time playing video poker, talking with people, cheering others on, and having a good time. For the record, I had TWO beers the entire time I was there. I was not drunk. I wasn't loud. I wasn't causing problems. I wasn't being disrespectful. I was actually having a genuinely good time. Then, out of nowhere, Dustin kicked me out. Apparently, because I bumped into a quarter machine, I was suddenly told that I had an "attitude" toward the poker machines. What?! I was sitting there playing, laughing, talking with people, giving people high fives, telling them good job when they won, and cheering them on even when I wasn't winning myself. I was enjoying myself and had a positive attitude the entire time. Yet somehow I was the problem. What made the situation even worse was that I wasn't even given the opportunity to properly finish up and pay my tab. I was simply told to leave and told not to come back for the rest of the week. No reasonable explanation. No conversation. Just "leave." And I did. I left without causing a scene because, unlike what I was apparently accused of, I wasn't there looking for trouble. I've been coming to Tiny's at least once a month for a beer, to gamble a little, socialize, cheer people on, and enjoy myself. I've had plenty of positive experiences with the other bartenders, which is why this interaction was so disappointing. But today was easily the absolute WORST experience I've ever had there. I genuinely wish there had actually been a legitimate reason for kicking me out. If I had been drunk, obnoxious, yelling, disrespectful, or actually causing problems, then fine--I'd understand being asked to leave. But that wasn't what happened. I had TWO beers. I was respectful. I was having fun. I was talking to people. I was cheering for other people. I was laughing and giving high fives. I wasn't causing a scene. And somehow I'm the one who gets kicked out and accused of having an "attitude." Being thrown out over something as ridiculous as apparently bumping a quarter machine, without even being given a real explanation, was incredibly frustrating and embarrassing. Dustin, you handled this terribly. You turned what should have been a normal night out into an experience that has completely changed how I feel about coming back. So, congratulations. Tiny's has officially lost a regular customer. TINYS -- NO MORE. And Dustin? You suck. Period.
