We stopped here on a road trip across AZ. What a gem! The hubs had "the fluffiest, perfectly scrambled eggs," with thick bacon and "the best pancake" he ever had. And trust me, he's had thousands. Our server, Selena, was attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere was rusticly charming with a pie case to drool over. I had a grilled turkey sandwich on the thickest sourdough ever. It was yum! read more

Ribs were really low quality like 2/10. Old rubbery meat and too much sauce to hide the bad taste of the meat. Baked potato brisket had too much sauce, I think the best part was the potato. The rice was also good. If you are expecting high quality or even mid quality bbq meat then dont order the bbq meat. Servers were great. read more

Even though it seems to be an old Dennys or the like we had an open mind. We got sat and placed our drink orders. Then we put our food order in. After we drank our drinks we order more. Then we got told our order had not gone in. Ok. Stuff happens. We get it. Even though a table that got sat 35 mins after us got their salad, we get it, we will get ours soon. Well what i got was greens and carrots. Ok, so not what I call a salad but I can roll with it. Then my meal comes, oh boy, i ordered pork chops with green beans and coleslaw-what I got was pork chops and no green beans, no coleslaw--they ran out. Was it because our order went in 30 mins or so late after 7 other tables that came in after us? I get it. But the kicker was they wanted us to pay the full price for everything when all I got was the pork chops?? Really. Well at least they gave us a whopping 10% off. 2.5 hours later too. Save your time and money. Go elsewhere. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had! My husband and I both ordered the sliced smoked brisket plate, which came with a soup and two sides. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The Albondigas soup was probably the best part of the meal, but the portion was extremely small and it tasted like canned soup. The mashed potatoes were completely bland, and the refried beans were watery with a strange flavor. The "hickory smoked brisket" did not look or taste smoked at all. It looked more like it had been cooked in a slow cooker. The meat was pale, lacked any smoky flavor, and tasted as if it had been cooked, frozen, and reheated. Even the BBQ sauce couldn't improve it. The food was so bad that neither of us could finish our meals. We only ate a few bites before giving up. I would not recommend eating here. read more

Saw this rated high while passing through town and tried it. It was a good experience with a local feel. The fries were really good, reminding me of my mom's fries growing up. The burger was fine although it could have been seasoned a little more. Staff were friendly and interacted well. I would return. read more

This is the place to eat. Period. I was just stopping in town for a bite on my roadtrip and was skeptical, but when I arrived it was peaceful, the lady was kind and very enjoyable AND ACTUALLY SMILES AT YOU, the food came out quick, was delicious, and they don't skimp out on protein and everything you love and want, and don't even get me started on the pie. When you eat somewhere, it's often easy to tell when something is off because it is reflected in your experience there whether it's the food, the price, the service or environment. My experience here was flawlessly amazing: quick and delicious food for a great price, amazing service, and a peaceful environment. When you eat here, you feel the care they give. It's pure love going straight down your gullet. After leaving, I told myself I had to leave a review. They deserve it. Update: 2 days later and i'm still thinking about that damn pie. Stopped here on a road trip not expecting much. Its a quaint and quiet establishment but delicious brisket. Totally recommend their brisket fries and their burgers. My burger was slightly overcooked as I ordered a medium rare but it is made up for in how juicy it was. Kind and humble staff. Their pies were heavenly! Will stop by next time I go on a road trip through the area! read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but something needs to be said about our experience. Our waitress, Stephanie, was wonderful and attentive. We had no issues with her at all. However, our experience with the food was incredibly disappointing. There were 3 of us dining. We ordered the dirty fries with brisket to start. The fries are hand cut (which is good) but they were not crisp. They were limp, and the brisket was more bbq sauce than meat. The meat was cut into tiny pieces that were mostly fat. The BBQ sauce was overly sweet and it seemed as if it was being used as filler to make it seem like there was more meat. The few pieces of meat I was able to find that weren't fat were dry. For our main courses, my husband ordered the Beef Fajita, my daughter ordered the Traditional Pan Fried Tacos (beef), and I ordered the BBQ Nachos with brisket. Had I known what the brisket was like beforehand, I would have chosen something else. The refried beans that were part of each meal were very pale and bland. According to my daughter, the tacos were ok, but the meat was dry and some of the lettuce was wilted, and definitely not worth the price. The fajitas were ok, but more veggies than meat. The nachos were mostly the disappointing refried beans, BBQ sauce, and sour cream. There was a bit of melted shredded cheese, but not nearly the amount there should be for nachos. Our ticket came to $108 ($94 before tip). This was double what this meal should have cost, especially for the quality of the food and size of the portions. I don't mind spending that much if I walk away feeling like I just had a really good meal. This time, I walked away feeling like I had been robbed and wishing we had gone to Taco Bell instead. On a side note, the paint in the pendant lamp hanging above our table was completely cracked and flaking and I was worried that it would fall onto the table andþor the food. This is definitely a health hazard. read more

Actually really good! The I got the ranch burger. It was filling and the brisket was delicious. The waiter was attentive and kept my water full. The restaurant was very clean. I was asked if I wanted soup or salad with my meal. As the price was higher than other restaurants, I assumed it came free with the meal ordered. Found out when paying bill ... no! The soup looked and tasted like it came out of a walmart can, meat sauce too. The meat sauce had way too much salt. I couldn't eat it. Bread tasted like it had been fried on a unclean grill .. all I could taste was greasy meat. Absolutely awful. I spent $30 for it and 1 beer .. went away hungry. read more

Service was top notch! Server was friendly with a good attitude. Food was not, we got the brisket very tough and fatty couldn't cut it with a knife I did not eat it, mashed potatoes and veggies were good. Iced tea was excellent served in a mason jar ( loved that) It was clean and booths were comfy. Server could only give 5% off due to no manager there. 01/05/2025 6:30pm. They have pretty tasty food, but took a long time to bring lunch for 5, mine came out on the wrong bread (I took it anyway to avoid more delays), and the BBQ does not have a pronounced smoke flavor. I had the BBQ brisket sandwich (see photo), which was modestly-sized. The dipping sauce was good and the sourdough bread was excellent. Prices were a bit high for a sandwich. I wanted this dinner to be special, as it was a send-off for a young man entering our great Army, but the restaurant made it anything but memorable. The food was tasteless: scant, dried vegetables; meat dishes served cold in the center; and a chicken parmesan missing the parmesan altogether with an underwhelming "chef byou" sauce. Even the deviled eggs ($29.00!) were a disappointment, with only a thin sliver of crab meat that a grocery store could have done better. For nearly $400 (including an automatic gratuity for 5 over $50.00), the quality was nowhere near the price. Drinks--both mocktails and adult beverages--were more like pop-style mixes than crafted selections. As for dessert, the restaurant offered only a cupped portion with one spoon, placed on a crumb-covered table left from our previous meal. That lack of care said it all. The only positives: the hostess and servers were wonderful and the restaurant itself is beautiful. But for this important evening, I wish we had gone to Olive Garden or simply cooked at home. I actually opened a can of chicken noodle soup when I got home because I left hungry. Sadly, this was a one-and-done visit. Never again if I can help it. read more

This place is a fun, nostalgic American diner. We were in for lunch on a Saturday. Not overly crowded. We were served promptly. We had a range of sandwiches and burgers and enjoyed them all. Food was ok at best. Dinner was $200+ and they didn't have all the ingredients. One burrito was $30. Bathrooms weren't super clean, small and locks barely worked. Booths were small and service was super slow as there was one server/busser for the whole restaurant. The pie (that they are supposedly known for) wasn't great and the waiter messed up our order. Service was not great, maybe we just caught them on a bad night. Waited for about 50 min for our food to come out, and it was nothing special. Two pulled pork sandwiches, two kids portions of spaghetti with barely any sauce, a baked potato with some pulled pork on it . 1.5 hours and 90 DOLLARS LATER I left this place feeling like a chump . everything was kind of slow, but the server blamed it on the "trainee chef" the fries were not my favorite kind of fries (on the bland side, skin on) but the loaded fries had a nice sauce albeit a bit salty. the ranch burger was well done by default (??) so it was pretty dry. the chicken parmesan linguine was alright, nothing special read more

You never know what you'll get at local diners, but this one hit the mark. I ordered the fish tacos (you get three small tacos, but plenty), along with what the server called "the best fries anywhere!", and fresh steamed broccoli. The server was nice, attentive, helpful with suggestions. The cozy bench seats, old-school swivel chairs at the counter, fresh pies in a case, all set the tone for a nice meal at an affordable price. The only downside of the meal was that they didn't have cocktail sauce or tartar sauce, but I made do with ranch dressing. All in all, I'd recommend to any weary (or not so weary) traveler. read more

Finally a restaurant worth eating at in Holbrook. We had breakfast, my husband had the breakfast burrito with brisket. There was house made salsa and real house cut potatoes! You almost never see house cut potatoes, the man across from us commented on how good his fry's were. I had the huevos rancheros with green chili. Our server was friendly and funny, all the while hustling. The place was clean and well cared for. read more

This was easily the best meal I had in Holbrook (out of the 4 places we went), and perhaps the best meal I've ever had on a road trip. I didn't take a picture of the menu so I forget what the prices were, but considering how much food you get I found it very reasonable. I ordered the salmon which came with a salad (I think there might have been a choice of salad or something else) and 2 sides! The red-skinned mashed potatoes were amazing, and I would highly recommend them if they are available. My boyfriend got the brisket which also came with a salad and 2 sides. We finished absolutely everything, and were so impressed. I find that often "vegetables" from random diners tend to be things like canned peas or somewhat mushy stuff, so this place really surpassed expectations with how fresh the salad was and the great vegetables of the day. If I were to redo my stay in Holbrook to visit Petrified Forest National Park, I would just go here for every meal. read more

We took my brother and wife there for dinner, and was totally disappointed. To be honest the waitress warned us that they were training new cooks so they may be a little slow. No big deal we had time. Us girls, ordered hot tea, with lemon and honey. The lemons were so dried out it looked as if they had been cut and left on the counter for weeks. Or maybe thrown away and they dug them out of the garbage. They had a dry white film in the pockets of the dried out lemon sections. So nasty I didn't even want to touch them. The guys had hamburgers, the lettuce was the same way, so dried out in spots it looked like it had been left out for a week or two. I mean this is nasty looking stuff. the lemons and lettuce were both totally toxic looking. my sister in law had the carnie asada tacos, ate half of one and that was the end of her meal. I had spaghetti which wasn't bad, really. Our meal came to almost $100, with the tip it did. New cooks had nothing to do with the quality of food, that is up to the owner or manager. We will not be going there again, ever. read more
