I've been buying and renting bikes from Mark and the Talbots for over 30 years. These guys know their bikes, components, and accessories.

Be sure you get your repair cost in writing. Brought them a rim with a bad hub . Got a call a couple of days later and they said they ordered the wrong hub and would order a new one . I told them no problem.Went to pick them up and they were 50 dollars more than what we were quoted. This seems to be a common practice in today's business world Thought we would give them one more chance and had our new brake lines cut and bleed. Took them in with marks on how much shorter they needed to be, from the measurement from the originals. They cut one correct and the front one was cut about 3 inches to short. Instead of calling us to recheck the length , they cut it anyway. When we got them back the mark was still on the hose, so they did not cut it in the right place. When We originally handed them two cables and were quoted 35dollars yet we were charged $60 never did they say it was $35 for each. We took the cable back in after we realized getting it home that it was too short. Everyone had an attitude trying to blame each other for the mistake. The owner finally said just go fix it with a new hose but then make it a point to say they had to use an additional $40 cable to replace the one they screwed up. I told the owner how long I had been riding bikes and my mechanical skills. I guess that simply didn't matter. I ordered 20 ft of the hose I need plus the olive and stems to do four brake lines for 15 bucks on amazon and a bleed kit with mineral oil which I didn't have at the time and I thought 35 bucks was a fair price for cutting the line with a single edge blade pushing on the olive and stem and bleed . We have been riding mountain bikes for many years and have never had such poor customer service. read more

This is a great bike shop. They have a great selection of bikes and bike parts and accessories. The service is awesome too. I was traveling from out of town and forgot my bike chain and lock. I was going to buy a new one to lock up my bike for a couple hours while I was out running. After talking to the guys at the shop, they offered to hold my bike in the back room while I was gone and saved me from having to buy an entire new lock. Thanks a ton. I took my older model Trek road bike to Bicycles Unlimited this morning with questions about possible changes to the gearing to make hills a little easier for an old geezer like me to handle. Nate took the time to completely explain my options, what the results of the changes would be and made his recommendations. He answered all my questions as we discussed the changes and the potential costs. I left the bike with him to install a new cassette and derailleur. He said he thought the bike would be ready the following day. Much to my surprise I received a call & text about 5 hours later telling me the bike was completed and ready for pick up! All of my old components where boxed up ready for me to take home along with my bike. Nate thoroughly explained all the work he had done and said if I had any questions or if the bike needed any 'tweaks' in the next 30 days to bring it back for 'no charge' adjustments! Everyone I've ever dealt with at the Bicycles Unlimited have always provided great assistance but Nate is a true STAR of customer service!!! To be fair, I'm an out-of-towner and should have asked around a bit more before even trying this place, but my experience was very, very suboptimal. I'm a professional triathlete who was in St. George for the Ironman 70.3 Pro Championship, and called this shop very far in advance asking if they would be able to get my bike "race ready," meaning an in-depth tune up to make sure the bike was in absolutely tip-top shape. I explained this to the person on the phone and was assured they could help me and understood what I was looking for (a service I've had done at MANY shops around the country without issue). What I got was a very half-assed, but VERY expensive tune up, complete with "repairs" that did not need to be made but for which I was charged, and a VERY hearty dose of rudeness/ condescension from both mechanics I dealt with. I literally put the bike in my car upon picking it up after the "tune up" and drove it to another bike shop in town to have them do the work I'd initially asked Bicycles Unlimited to do. I can understand not wanting to work on triathlon bikes-- this is clearly a mountain bike -focused store and I probably should have just cancelled my appointment upon walking in and discovering that -- but I might have hoped that they'd be honest in what they were able (or willing) to provide, and at the very least, treated a customer with politeness. This was a quite expensive mistake on my part. read more

Service Dept = Poor Service Dept. Bought my Trek Navigator, and my wife's, from this shop, a few years ago. Tried to schedule service for next month, 22 days from now, and they refused to even schedule service because they are so "backed up." When I politely questioned that position, I was given a snotty response. I will never do business with these folks again. Integrity and honesty.....I brought my old bicycle to Bicycles Unlimited after another bicycle shop failed to fix my derailleur problem. I was convinced by the other shop it could not be repaired. BU took my bike with the idea of replacing the whole derailleur system....the next day they called and said they fixed it without having to replace the system and saved me money in the process. They could have easily just replaced it and charged me. I wouldn't have known the difference. Kudos to BU!! read more

I was on a mountain bike trip visiting from out of town and after a hard day of riding I noticed the main pivot nut had come off on my Trek Remedy. Knowing it was a dealer part only (and highly unlikely to be in stock) I did a quick google search, found directions, crossed my fingers and headed to the shop to see if they could help as we had a day left in out trip. When I walked in, I was greeted politely by the woman working there and she walked me over to the service area as I explained what I needed. Nate greeted me, I told him what I needed and he went in search. They actually had several small parts for the pivot assemblies of the Trek bicycles, just not the one I needed...I thought that was going to be the end of my trip. What happened next is why this shop gets a 5 star review. Nate then proceeded to take the part off one of the bikes on the floor and sold me that part to get me back on the bike. He said it was no trouble, he'd just order the part and replace it on their bike when it came in. I took my Trek Fuel7 in to have my front shocks looked at. I took it to another bike shop and they said my shocks needed to be rebuilt. It looks like they just needed air! The guy there was very knowledgeable about my bike and filled up my front and rear shocks on the house. Highly recommend based on their knowledge and customer service!!! read more

I have had a Trek hybrid bike for about 17 years. After 15 years, I went to Bicycles Unlimited to get new tires. Prior to the new tires, I had never had a flat tire. Since the new tires, I have had five flat tires. Maybe I was just unlucky. Last week, I took my tire into their shop to have a flat repaired. I went in and no one greeted me. I waited for a few minutes and finally a young man asked what I wanted. I gave him my front wheel and he proceeded to lecture me about having the stem of the tube in straight. It was in straight before I had to walk a mile to get home with the flat. He took the wheel and said it would be tomorrow at the earliest. I thought they could do it before the end of the day but I guess they were busy - not! At no time did this young man smile. I picked up the tire the next day. By the time I got back to Mesquite, the tire was going flat. The same young man had given me the tire. Again, no greeting or smile. Today I took my flat tire to a competitor and it was repaired while I waited. Good bye Bicycles Unlimited. read more

My wife and I rented bicycles for 4 days starting Sept 19 and we could not have asked for an easier process. The staff was very helpful - adjusted the bicycles and showed me how to install the trunk mount carrier. The bikes were like new condition - Trek 7.3s.
