Rapid cycling was recommended by a friend to clean up my road bike, the service team was honest about what they thought the bike really needed, but they also worked with the budget that I could afford to do at the time to work on my bike. It was a simple replacement of an old chain, but they also do a general check to make sure the bike is safe. Took it out for a little spin and the bike rode better than before. On the 15th of November of 2022, I came into Rapid Cycling for an inner-tube replacement, having suffered two flat tires (one of which was a valve stem issue) and only having one spare, on my visit bike ride to St. George. Brad expeditiously replaced the flat tire for me and I purchased some extra snacks (Skratch Labs) to fuel my ride back from which I started. Staff was friendly, very helpful and I took notice of the well stocked bikes and accessories. If I resided in this area, I would definitely return to Rapid Cycling for future purchases. I highly recommend rapid cycling. I am a mature woman. I Don't know a ton about maintaining and fixing my bike. I have been in three times now... Every time they have given me excellent, prompt service and fair prices. I have tried other bike shops in Salt Lake Valley, and Saint George. This review is regarding an online purchase on Pinkbike of a mountain bike so it may or may not have a reflection on the brick & mortar store(s). I found a bike that I liked on Pinkbike and after some emails back and forth with "Jordan" (?) I decided to pull the trigger on it. The emails with Jordan (I'm assuming it was him the entire time) were mostly responsive. The last email I sent asked for their PayPal email so I could send the payment. Once I had that I sent the full payment. So this whole buying a bike online thing is based on trust. The seller is hopefully accurate in their description of what they are selling. The buyer sends the complete payment trusting what they received is what they thought they were getting. In one email I asked Jordan if he was affiliated with a bike shop (no mention of that in the ad). He said he was. So I sent the payment on Saturday. Radio silence the rest of Saturday, all day Sunday and it wasn't until midday on Monday that I finally called the number in the ad which turned out to Rapid. After being passed around I finally got confirmation that they had seen my PayPal payment and would box up the bike that day. I received an email saying they missed UPS that day but it would go out the next day. A label was created at 3:30 on Monday. Fair enough. Tuesday came and went and no notice from UPS. So I just called this morning (Weds) and spoke to someone about the bike. Apparently the person in charge of shipping dropped the ball yesterday and the bike sat there losing another day. I figured that if I bought this bike on a Saturday it would arrive before the following Saturday as it's going from UT to CO. My bad. I get it, it's a First World issue. My chich is if you offer great service in your retail store be consistent and offer that same great service if you're playing the online game. I feel like this transaction was an afterthought for Rapid. A $2500 + $87 shipping afterthought. Caveat Emptor Ok I would like to add a postscript here. The bike arrived today (Friday - miracles still happen) and was packaged exceptionally well and was exactly as advertised. I am very very happy both with the bike and that it got here before the weekend. I would amend my 1 Star review to 4 Stars if I could but I still feel like better and more prompt communication would alleviate any doubts about an online purchase (not initially knowing that it was coming from a reputable bike shop). Again, I'm sure this has no bearing on the service of Rapid Cyclings brick & mortar stores. Time to go shred! read more

I only had a bike shipped here to start a tour but Jordan and his staff were super helpful. They even adjusted my brakes at no charge. I had to take a look at the other shops in town and RC impressed me the most with their selection and helpfulness. They also were less expensive than the other big shop for a bike assembly. *Insert angelic praise* That is what I heard when I walked into Rapid Cycling, after having spent some time at another local bike shop. I confessed to Nick that I'm not cardio-inclined and a total newbie to cycling. He listened to my ridiculous story and needs, and kindly offered suggestions and talked through some concerns of mine. I felt ZERO pressure. At the other shop-that-shall-not-be-named (I'm not badmouthing, just didn't love the experience there), I felt pressure and like I would spend much more than I had budgeted for. You know, the kind of crazy shopping spree that leaves you homeless and so guilty that you're burying yourself in mounds of Taco Bell. Nick and Colton were FANTASTIC! This is the best shop in St. George. They get things done quickly and do a good job. The staff is knowledgeable and it's rare that I ever have to wait for someone to help me when I walk in. In town from Salt Lake and my front brakes broke (Guide R on a Stump Jumper). Rapid cycling was the only shop in town that had warranty replacements in stock and could fix them them on the spot (and is authorized to fix them). Guide R has known issues and they are currently (Feb 2018) replacing them for free. Other shops wanted 2-3 days to fix them. Totally saved my St George trip!! Thank you! read more

I've given this shop several chances, but at this point I'll never give them my business again and encourage anyone to spend their money elsewhere. Rapid's service department is the epitome of what's been wrong with the bicycle industry for decades: Their mechanics are rude, degrading to cycling novices and treat women in particular like they're idiots. Go spend your money at one of the other local bike shops. It's not surprising that even during the COVID bike boom Rapid had to close their other location. If local bike shops like this are ever going to compete with online sellers they need to step it up. read more

Okay this is the first bike shop that actually listens to women. I bought my first hardtail there and the guys just listen to you. The Bluff street mess kept me away for awhile but I plan on coming back. Ultimately I wanted a Juliana and had to go to Red Rock to get it. Did not enjoy the experience with them either. I come to St. George twice a year to ride. My freehub broke and I needed my bike repaired asap. I worked with the bike mechanic to figure out a plan on Saturday and they were going to overnight the part and have me back up and running on Tuesday. On Monday at 3:00 they called to let me know they were not able to order the part and since it didn't make there weekly order it would be a week before it arrived. I was so disappointed because I had made it clear I was here to ride for a week and was willing to pay the overnight if they bought the part direct from the company. So I went home and overnighted the part myself and had someone else do the work. I though these guys were professionals and understood when someone is visiting to bike the local area time is of the essence. I thought they could handle it, obviously I was wrong. We reached our hotel at 3:00pm and unpacked our bikes in preparation for the 6 day tour starting at 6:30 am the next day. Low and behold Delta had broken my bike in transit for the second time. I made a reservation with them (and paid in advance) for a road bike over a month in advance of my week long biking vacation in St. George. When I arrived at the shop they did not have a bike that would work for me, and did nothing to help me out. Luckily another shop in town had something that worked with no advance reservation.
