I always prefer and support local bike shops but it is hard to find one. They either charge you extreme rates or simply do a bad job. Many reasons people are buying online and doing most repairs themselves. So my experience was a good one. I was provided with good advice and let to decide for a broken spoke in the rear wheel. I went ahaed and changed all the spokes on both wheels, change the bar tape and was charged appropriately. I recommend this shop for repairs! read more

Shout out to the Bicycle Rack in Hightstown. If you're looking for a bike, they have quality, bikes at good prices with EXCELLENT customer service. With the pandemic, bikes have been hard to come by and I had been keeping an eye out for our daughter who needed a bigger one. I found the perfect bike there, at a fair price. They were willing to hold onto it for 3 months until I needed it, deliver it free of charge and adjust it to her height upon delivery. They have a warranty and tune ups that come with the bike as well. We've taken our other bikes there for tune ups in the past and they also recycle bikes. Not too much to say but I bought a new hybrid bike online and we took it to the Bicycle Rack to get assembled and they did a great job. They had the best price in the area at around $85, and when the bike came with a defective shifter and they filled out the warranty claim for me and handled getting the new shifter without me having to do anything but wait a bit longer. The bike hasn't fallen apart yet so I think they did a good job! read more

The area is so lucky to have the Rack for their bicycle needs! I have had my bike serviced there with great results. Couldn't Be Nicer, More Knowledgeable, Reliable, or Reasonable Priced. I moved to the area from North Jersey and was saddened to no longer be close to my LBS. I had a long relationship with them and trust them implicitly. The thought of finding a new LBS that I trusted with my Road Bike was tough. It's technologically advance and well equipped and not every bicycle mechanic that claims to know their stuff actually does. Van and Justin (the only 2 guys I know well) are awesome. They both know their stuff, are incredibly nice, and always welcome questions as I ask many and love to learn about servicing my bike. Couldn't recommend them more. Good place for bicycle repair. I had taken my wife 's bike to them to get some brake issue fixed and after inspection the advisor recommended a full service , indicating that the assembly wasn't done properly ( it was ordered online and DIY assembled). After the service , my wife says it's a totally different ride and doesn't look like the same bike anymore. She is extremely happy with it. Would Recommend for all kind of bike repairs. read more

This shop is great. They are very knowledgable and honest while charging less than other local shops. I needed my bicycle shipped to Los Angeles. They disassembled, packed, insured for $700, and shipped it to Cali, all for under $100! They can ship UPS right from the shop too, less errands for you to do. I also popped in once when having trouble getting my tire back on the rim. They were happy to help me right away for no charge. Highly recommend this shop to anybody in the Hightstown area. read more

My husband and I have been going to this shop for a few years now. As we get more health conscious we are find the bike riding arena to be one of our main sources of exercise. Van is the owner and he's a knowledgeable and fair guy. He won't try to nickel and dime you and will give you the most he can for your trade-in if you have one. Once you buy a bike there you are a customer for life. If you need an adjustment just stop in and he will hook you up usually right there and then. Not a bike shop to buy from or service a high end Campagnolo equiped road bike or mega buck MTB, but for everything else, very reasonable prices, professional demeanor, friendly and no non-sense kind of place. I appreciate that their strong point is selling bikes and equipment that are very good value, no cheapies nor extravagant stuff, but stuff that works. I can tell that they take pride in their work just by noticing details like brake and derailleur cables dressed nicely, even spoke tensions on wheels from their cheapest to most expensive bikes, headsets that aren't too sloppy nor too tight, etc. Even handlebars and wheels that are aligned. Better workmanship here than the popular bike shop in Mercerville. BTW, I was only buying a mirror for a MTB and their price rivalled Amazon so I decided to support this local business. read more

We've been purchasing our son's bikes at the Bicycle Rack for 10 years. When he out grows one, we trade it in and put the value towards a new bike. The bikes are so much better quality than Walmart or Target and they repair and tune up any bike we bring in. I had my husband's Cannondale mountain bike tuned up there for him for Father's Day and he was thrilled! It had been collecting dust in the shed because he knew it needed lots of work (tubes, tires, brakes, etc.) and he didn't feel like doing it. They are friendly, honest, and have always given us good advice even when they could have conned us out of our money or sold us service we didn't need. A wonderful experience. Van has been in the business for decades and knows his customers well. I have purchased starter bikes for my kids, two 29ers, a few Hybrids, and a stationary bike. (9 bikes in total.)All the bikes were used. I have owed some of the bikes for 20 years and Van and his staff have maintained them all. Most of his costumers are repeats because they are happy with the quality products and awesome service. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. The pricing is very fair on purchase and repairs. I've been going here for several years and will not go to any other bike shop. Not only is everyone knowledgeable and friendly but they don't charge you an arm and a leg for parts or service like other bike shops in the area. They also do as much as they can on trade ins to get you into a better bike and I even had one of them take the time to show me how to change a tire when I first started riding.
