Let's face it fresh fish and seafood is getting more and more expensive. Recently a friend and I ventured into Bicoastal Seafoods in Edmonton. We were pleasantly surprised. This is a privately owned seafood wholesale company which sells seafood as well as frozen and fresh rock fish that gets flown in on Mondays (salmon) and Thursdays (rock fish). You can call in for your order ahead of time and they will call you back when it arrives. The best part is that you don't need to buy large quantities. I bought 4 fresh grey trouts for $13.00.
We were impressed by the selection in the odourless showroom. The company sells a large assortment of frozen and fresh seafood as well. They offer so much variety everything from tiger shrimps in different sizes, to lobster tails, gamberi, escargots, squid as well as sashimi and a sushi selection. They also carry a large selection of frozen fish from different parts of the world. The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. My friend and I bought an order of fresh walleye and the front desk clerk was able to split the order in two separate orders. We found their prices to be very competitive but the selection so much better. On their website the company states it sells over 200 varieties of fish and seafood products. I will definitely return to this store. read more
