We are now into the making payments on our truck through the finance company that Bickmore uses. They assured that our due date would be coordinated with our pay day. We were sent the 'payment coupons' from Alliance Acceptance Corp. They were late.. payment date was for 8 days before pay date and on top of that, we were told that there was a grace period. We found out the hard way that there is not a grace period. My husband got a snotty call from Alliance Acceptance Corp and demanded a call back by the end of the day.. well, guess what.. surprise.. he has a job and he works. She was so rude I told them if they bother leaving snotty messages to not expect me to give them to my husband as he puts up with snotty and rude all day at work and I don't want him to have to deal with snotty, rude, loan sharks on top of it. Do not go through this finance company and don't believe anything these people at Bickmore tell you. I left them a message yesterday and they didn't even have the common courtesy to respond so I am just updating this review and getting ready to make my complaints to the BBB. read more

Unfortunately for myself, I purchased a car from these thieves and it hadn't even been 3 hours before I noticed there was an oil leak. I literally couldn't make it a whole day without having any issues. I even asked them if there were any problems before I purchased the car, and all they told me about were a couple of cosmetic issues. Nothing about the way it ran. I had someone look at it and the estimated $800 in repairs. I do not have a lot of money, so I can't afford to purchase a car and still have to put more money into it... at least not right away. And mind you, I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to cars, so if I'm able to spot a problem before these guys were able to than I'm worried for the rest of their customers. I called them the same day I purchased the vehicle and told them I wanted to return the car and get my money back. They told me that I purchased the car "as is" and they don't know what happens once the car leaves the lot and that the salesman probably didn't know if there were any issues. First off, rude. You're basically taking no ownership and blaming the customer. Now, if the salesman didn't know the details about the car than he has no business selling the car. Anyways... he told me he couldn't do anything and I'd have to come back the next day to speak to the manager (Brian). I came back the next day and the bullshit continued. I told them I either want my money back or to have them knock the remaining $300 balance off, which still isn't even enough for the repairs, so it's not like I was being unreasonable. They told me they couldn't do either. From that point on, I knew they were just gonna keep giving me the run around until I tired myself out. They offered to switch out the car, but there was no way I was going to continue to do business with them. Not after they lied to me about the car not having problems. They told me they could take a look at the car on Monday, but the dealership is an hour and a half round trip, so I wasn't interested. Plus, there is no guarantee the car will be fixed by them just "taking a look." I was fed up with them. I decided to just pay the $300 and count my losses. I told them I was going to give them a review, which ended up getting under Brian's skin. He said "but, we offered to take a look at it," and I said "yeah, but that doesn't mean you're gonna fix it and this will take another hour and a half out of my day, which I don't want to waste anymore time". Then he said, "well maybe if you didn't have an attitude we could do something about it." After that I left. These people have a lot of nerve. We bought a used car here a couple of months ago and were happy with the service from Michael and Brian. Michael was helpful and had the car all warmed up and ready for us to get into before we arrived. The warranty was also helpful as we were able to get assistance post purchase. It does not provide extensive coverage though, and only covers minor issues. I would recommend going through the warranty details based on your needs. One small downside is that we only got one set of car keys, but they gave us a contact to duplicate a set, which we had to cover on our own. Overall it was a pleasant buying experience and we managed to get the car we wanted here after visiting a few dealers. I called to inquire about an 89 dodge dakota that was for sale at 1288, in hopes to get a cheap ride to beat up on the hills and was extremely dissatisfied with everything bickmore had to offer me in the short 10 minutes i was there. When bickmore called me about the dodge they FAILED to mention that the truck wasnt ever running, and had nothing posted about the truck not running on their website or the craigslist ad. So i drove all the way out there just to be told it was not running and they had no idea why. It makes you wonder, if a company is hiding things about their vehicles from you, then should you trust them and purchase from them? I stopped by here a couple weeks ago to look at an automobile, and worked with Cesar, one of the salesmen. The automobile in question was about double what I had seen ones in similar conditions selling for. When I asked if they were flexible on price, I was told that he "couldn't help me until I was serious and ready to buy." I drove all the way out to Gresham--if that's not serious then I don't know what is. I went around in circles with him for about ten minutes trying to figure out what the price of the car would actually be and finally gave up after being told that unless I was going to buy TODAY he couldn't tell me. What drove me to actually write a review of this place, though, was the fact that Cesar kept telling me "I am here to help you, but I cannot unless you put money down." The blatant attempt to weasel a customer into buying without putting any real thought into is representative of the sort of cronyism that I would expect out of a used car dealership, but the 'I'm trying to help you,' act is what really turned my stomach. Would give negative stars if I could. 1st of all we were offered $2500 on our trade in after asking for $4k and when it came time to sign papers we see they only gave us $1500, then 2 days later they had our Tahoe listed for $6998 on their website!!! 2nd we went on a roadtrip 3 days after getting our truck and a couple hundred miles in the Check Engine light came on. Took it a local joint who wasn't much help but said it was nothing to worry about most likely a sensor. A few months later and the light came back on so we took it to the dealership and it needs an entire NEW ENGINE to the tune of $6900!!!! Oh boy, I should have looked at the reviews for Bickmore Auto sales in Gresham before purchasing from them. My husband and I went in looking for a reliable SUV. We looked at 2 different Chevy Tahoe's and walked away with one. The guy who helped us must of been new, and he was nice. His name was Kent, and not the boss Kent. My first problem with Bickmore Auto was when we purchased my vehicle it had not been cleaned and was told to set up an appointment and they would clean the interior. When I called to set up the appointment I was told by the person on the phone that I could bring in my vehicle at anytime to get it cleaned. So I did just that, walked in and no one knew why I was there even though I had called the day before to make sure it was OK to bring it in. I then found out that in order to have them clean my vehicle they would need it the whole day, not possible! So I was given a coupon to a local auto detailer for a deep clean. I took the coupon and drove on down to the auto detailer, turns out they didn't give me a coupon for a deep clean and the cleaning I received was terrible. I could have done a better job my self. The second problem: It's January, Its cold out, and I can't get the rear heater to work in the vehicle. I didn't call and complain as this was an easy fix. I purchase a 150 dollar module for the rear heating and put it in myself so my kids could stay warm. Third Problem: I Maybe had the car for 3 months when the engine light starts coming on. Then as I am driving down the road my engine quits working and I have to pull to the side of the road, park, and restart the engine. I immediately took it down to O'reillys to run the OBD reader. The reader came back with 21 codes. Mostly electrical. Needless to say I was not a happy person and immediately called Bickmore Auto to hopefully resolve the issue. The manager Brian is who I spoke with. I kindly told him my concerns and was hoping that the company would be willing to help with the problem as they sold me the vehicle. I was rudely told that We purchased the vehicle as is and that it looks like we sold you the warranty, you'll need to go through them. We don't have a shop here to fix vehicles. I then asked if he was going to make this right, he again referred me to the warranty that I so luckily purchased so I wouldn't get screwed over. I was starting to get very upset, and I asked again. So you are not willing to right this wrong? I shouldn't have a vehicle break down on my this shortly after purchase. His reply, Well it passed DEQ so there is nothing he can do. When i told him I was going to leave a bad review and report the company to the BBB, I was told go ahead and was hung up on. Fourth Problem: I started getting a check coolant light message on my dashboard 2 weeks ago. I have finally had a chance to take my vehicle in to the shop this week. Now i have had this vehicle for 5 months and the water pump went out. Guess what! That wonderful warranty you sold us, It's CRAP! It only pays for half and doesn't even include diagnostics. Here is a list of what the mechanic found wrong with my vehicle on top of the charge of the diagnostics and the water pump replacement that will cost me over $750 to fix, including the diagnostics($248.00) which the warranty does not cover. The warranty only covers half the cost of the repair, no diagnostics. So they will only pay about $250. Critical: 1) Reprogram PCM. 2) Replace mass air flow sensor or clean. 3) Evaluate EVAP system for purge restriction and or contamination. 4) Air inlet resonator clamps (or modify current clamps). 5) Evaluate engine performance and TAC operation (and EVAP operation) after repairs. Recommended: Induction clean. 2) Test for cause of C0300 3) Test for cause of B2425. Total quote to fix the electrical issues is well over $1000. BUYERS BEWARE!!! DO NOT BUY FROM BICKMORE AUTO!!! Allen the Sales rep was a good guy. Didn't really know anything about the truck he was selling. By my experience I know the truck wasn't checked out by a diesel mechanic. Not getting into more detail I pointed out the issue with the truck prior to buying it. Got it back home and spent $1500.00 in repairs. I recently bought a vehicle from them, had to negotiate with them to fix the alternater and let me keep the 3 month warranty that came with the vehicle. No more than 4 days later the clutch went out on it. They said they would look at it, but I can't drive it out there because it's not driveable, they said I could tow it but towing a vehicle 20 plus miles isn't cheap so they recommend some mechanical shops that work with this so called warranty closer to my place. They have destroyed that feeling of trust for us. When we did let them know 3 days after buying it they just said sorry. They should have taken it back or offered to fix it or been honest in the beginning and either told the truth that they never looked at it or never sold it under the impression that it was a unicorn of a car. AND i saw other people talk about their warranty and our sales man said it covered everything so they are selling false hopes to other people whom are buying that warranty, so beware. UPDATE TO THIS , we have had nothing but issues with the Vehicle we bought form them of course the warranty the pressured us int buying does not cover it and we found out they did not even give us all of the warranty paperwork so we never of know there were restrictions or what the exclusions were for said warranty. RED FLAG WARNING!!!!!! Do not so business with this car lot. We dealt with a gentleman named Lux and Brian (the manager). I have the advantage that I work in the auto service industry and have some knowledge about automotive. We looked at a CRV that they had on their lot and test drove it and it had a slight vibration in the front end. I requested a car fax and the vehicle had been an east coast vehicle. The salesman Lux was giving ne a song and dance about how they did not purchase vehicles from auctions and how high quality their vehicles were. As I was attempting to look at the car fax he kept drawing my attention away from it. We were going to leave and the Manager (Brian) came and said he would give us a deal we could not refuse. He made us a reasonable offer and we told him we would think about it. We went back later that day and said we would like to take him up on the offer and all of a sudden he could not give us the vehicle for that price. We negotiated a higher price that my husband was happy with but I was uncomfortable with. He then tried to sell us extended warranty (which being in the industry I know is worthless and from some of the other comments on here I am right). He kept saying there would be titling and other fees and I told him I would not pay any additional fees only the titling and licensing. I also told him I would not purchase the car until I could see it on a lift and see the underneath due to the damage that is caused by salt on the roads on the east coast. Once it was on the lift and I looked under it the car was completely eaten up with rust underneath. When I told my husband I did not want to buy the car the manager (Brian) got really rude and stated we had shook hands on the deal and we needed to purchase it. I wish I had read reviews before we even went there. I would NEVER purchase a vehicle from these shady people. Stick with the dealerships that stand behind what they say. I was passing the lot on Burnside in Gresham and saw a Jeep that I liked. I met Chris Hume and he worked with me to look at several vehicles on the lot. The Jeep immediately showed signs of trouble and Chris was quick to steer me away from that choice. He recommended a couple of more on the lot but they did not meet my expectations for what I was willing to spend. He then went above the norm and investigated the entire Bickmore inventory. Chris took the time to learn who I was, what I wanted, and what I wanted to spend. This was after allowing me to spend plenty of time on the lot perusing the choices. There was zero pressure selling. I was highly impressed with how Chris handled the sale. Chris took me over to the Powell lot and showed me a vehicle that was exactly what I was looking for in a car. As a diligent used car buyer, I took the extra mile and had the vehicle checked out by the local Buick dealership as a pre-sales inspection. Again Chris and Brian went above the norm and took the vehicle over to the dealership for me because I had to go to work that day in downtown Portland. I was astounded to see this type of customer service actually existed in the used car sales environment. The inspection showed a few driveability problems and once again Chris and Brian worked with me to resolve them satisfactorily including a cosmetic issue of the windshield wiper reservoir. Was in the Market for a 7.3 powerstroke ford f350. I had been looking there yards for a year or more. I found a dually that fit my needs low miles Price was high but for the miles it was with in reason. get down there to look at it, crawl under the truck low and behold its covered in rust. not a little rust, we talking cancer rust, completly saturated in rust as if it had been a 50 year old salt mine truck. completly unsafe to drive and not worth half of what they are asking. I pointed out the obviouse as was about to take a test drive, the sales person said he could come down in price for cash and a trade in, I made a generous offer 75% of the laughable price they are asking. he pulled the keys out of the ignition hopped out of the truck and pretty much shunned me. These people have no interest in selling to people who know fair market value, or people with money to pay for the vehicle in cash. these Crooks sell to the lowest denominated people who will go into debt for an overpriced unsafe pile of Crapola who might not have the experience to know better. I entertained the salesman stalker like phone calls for a month as he begged me to come back for this vehicle witch is still on there lot for sale at the same ridiculous price. I waited almost a year to write this, so that I could make a good decision on this. My salesmen who sold me the car, and kind of twisted my arm about getting the warranty, has done a terrible job at customer service. I know salesmen don't care about customer service but I am someone who has been in sales his whole life, I know that how you can gain more customers by referrals. I would refer Bickmore as I had a good time being helped by the GM and some of the other front office people, But my sales men whose name is only 4 letters long is terrible. I asked where to take vehicle in for the warranty, he said : oh I think this is the place we send them? Me: Can you give me address? Salesmen: We just send them to rick's? Me: where is ricks? Salesmen: I don't know somewhere off powell.. Now, I still haven't found "Ricks" mechanic shop and I am still paying for this damn warranty.. Bought a used Ford Focus for $2200 out the door. I simply wanted a daily driver to take me to and from work. The car didn't start when I arrived on the lot to Brian's surprise. However, he assured me the car ran fine and it was because the lights were left on prior to my coming to check the car out. I should have ran then, shame on me for not doing so. The car came with a warranty which I figured would cover any major repairs needed (the warranty company is great to deal with by the way, it's a shame they do business with Bickmore because it's costing them money). Sure enough, the very next day the car didn't start at all. I drove the car back up to the lot less than 24 hours after signing on the dotted line. They did replace the battery at no charge (as they should have, since they sold me a non-functional vehicle that crapped out less than a day after buying it). I asked if they would take the car back since I had it for less than 24 hours and Brian flat out refused. Fast forward two weeks later and the car starts stalling on the highway. I take it to a mechanic in Salem which replaces the transmission THREE TIMES before realizing the people who sold Bickmore the car had SUPER GLUED parts of the engine together causing the transmission to slip and eventually fail every time. At this point the $1,500 warranty cap had long been used up and I ended up paying an additional $800 to get the car working again. The mechanic warned me the car was a time bomb and would leave me stranded at any time. I couldn't in good conscience sell this vehicle to someone else so the dealership I ended up buying a functional car from gave me $200 for it. Ugh. I'm writing this review to help you the reader since, like you, I scoured the reviews on this place thinking they knew what they were doing after seeing some of the great reviews. Bickmore doesn't check the vehicles they sell thoroughly at all (Brian said the car had a power steering issue... I knew immediately from the sound and later confirmed it was a wheel bearing issue, had nothing to do with the power steering). They had no clue about the super glued engine and it cost me dearly. They are liars! They don't stand by their sale!! They take advantage of you when you when you trade in a vehicle and when you buy one. I bought one with cash. A Diesel Mercedes. They don't warranty diesels! That is what they said when I brought it back. They said it got 26 mpg, but it only got 17mpg. They told me that they sold it to me for cheap, that there was a line of customers wanting it that day. I live outside the Portland area and there isn't anyone that will service it within an 80 miles range. I had it for two months. I had it serviced, drove it a bit, and I wasn't happy with how it drove or the gas mileage. I took it back to see if they could help me. I wasn't a satisfied customer. They offered me less than half the purchase price to trade it in. Then they came back with 2/3 of the purchase. Basically, in 2 months the vehicle depreciated 30% - 50%. After a few days the motor started making a knocking sound when started, so I had a mechanic look it over.He pointed out the engine had been replaced as well as other issues. So I ran a Edmonds report on it since I had a 30 day subscription, Edmonds is like carfax, but on the edmonds report is says 2 owners. As it turns out if look at the carfax or edmonds closely it looks like there are several owners.The edmonds shows it selling at an auto auction.The carfax report does not show that event and they have no way to know how many owners there have been because DMV will not release that info. the only thing the DMV can tell anybody is if there as been a title event but since title event does not for sure mean a change of ownership.Carfax just list it as 1 owner Bottom line is Bickmore uses carfax to deceive people into to believing the vehicle they are buying is a 1 owner, when the have know way to know or the will just leave out info that would say otherwise. When I asked Brian the manager at Bickmore if they looked at the carfax report before listing vehicles he said they did. So I then asked him if he still was still expected me to believe it was a 1 owner. H e replied "no I am not going to say that. They wouldn't budge on the price more than $500 even though it was already way over priced (our fault I guess for still purchasing), then we got hassled into purchasing a warranty (probably because they knew they were selling a lemon), within 6 months the engine blew up. They wouldn't help us out at all. The warranty fails to mention that they have a cap on what they pay out, and also only gave us a $50 towing credit, so we were out $470 just for the tow. (awesome right). So we get it to the mechanic just to find out we need a whole new engine, and the warranty only covered $3000. So now we are out $2300 out of pocket for the engine, $470 for the tow, plus the warranty said they'd authorize a rental car so we went ahead and got the cheapest vehicle we could, and when it came time to pay for the rental car, the warranty wouldn't cover the rental so we are out another $108. Asked Bickmore if they could help us out for anything and they said no. Would have bought another car from them for myself, but after this, forget it. I found Bickmore because they had a Jeep that I found in a search engine. I called to see if it was still there and connected with Allan Henry. He's very good at his job! He had the Jeep pulled up for me so I could test drive as soon as I got there. He then went above and beyond. I have credit issues and was approved for a loan with a moderate interest rate. After I left with the car, he called me back because a lower rate loan approval came through the next day. He saved me quite a bit of money. But the service didn't stop there. I noticed problems with the AC/Heater, and the alternator went out about a month after my purchase. I had purchased an extended warranty which excluded the AC/Heater and only covered 1/2 the cost of the alternator. I was sent to Rob's Auto Repair and received a phone call stating that Bickmore Auto Sales was going to cover for me what the warranty did not. Talk about doing the right thing when it really counts! So impressed with my entire experience. I am very grateful for the commitement that Brian, Allan and the entire staff have to excellent customer service. Thank you for making me feel like a valued customer. The next time my family (or a friend) needs a car, Bickmore will be first on my list! Thank you so much!! read more
