Walking through its doors feels like stepping into another world--one filled with anticipation and excitement. My partner and I were lucky to obtain tickets via an online market reseller (the Tickets Center) at Left Orchestra, row P, for last night's performance of Riverdance 30. Upon entering this warm and inviting venue as first-timers with an orchestra and the balcony section, we were greeted by the staff and waited for the doors to open 30 minutes before the start of the show. The bar on the main floor had alcohol, soda, chips, and other light snacks. Our cushiony seats were comfortable, providing a clear view of the stage and a great sound system. The show was a fusion of traditional and contemporary Irish as well as international dance. The music is choreographed with stunning costumes and cutting-edge visuals, bringing its magic to audiences. Prices were comparable to the area and artist. Parking was offered via the online market reseller, and I purchased it. The location was a 15 min walk, and we were okay with that. It was so easy to enter and exit without the congestion. However, the QR scan ticket provided by them was not able to be scanned at the destined location machine. As a result, I had to pay twice. When communicating with this reseller, they refused to refund, as it was a final sale. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out by contacting directly the Mayo PAC and not Tickets-Center.

We attend NJSO concerts, but this was our first time seeing the New Jersey Ballet. The entire experience at Mayo was wonderful. We drove into Morristown and parked at one of the nearby municipal lots. Going through security went alright and ticket scanning went without a hitch. It was a packed house and very crowded. Ushers helped us find our seats in row J, where we had a good view of the stage. Seats were comfortable, too. The show was about two hours with a 20 minute intermission. There are concessions on both the first and second floor. It was a cold night, so we bought hot drinks to warm up before the show - a $3 hot tea for him and my $6 "snow queen special" hot cocoa (it was worth the $). People working at concessions on the 1st floor were nice and kept it moving. With this kind of performance, the orchestra was in the pit and the dancers were on the stage. MPAC's space has good acoustics. The stage sets and lighting design exceeded any expectations I may have had. Photography and video recording is prohibited during performances, and it appeared from my seat that audience members complied. The Nutcracker was fantastic! It won over two grinches like us last night; we both said how we should go again if it runs at MPAC next year. MPAC surpassed any expectations we had last evening and we hope to see other acts/shows during the 25/26 season (and recommend you do also).

The door itself was cleverly hidden, blending in as a regular washing machine, and if you weren't in the know, you'd probably miss it entirely. Once inside, we descended into a spacious area with two bar stations and a stage set up for live music, which gave the place an exciting, eclectic vibe. Since it was our first time, we asked for the cocktail menu and were fortunate to have Dan as our bartender, easily one of the best bartenders I've ever encountered. His drink-making skills were on another level, and we immediately struck up a great conversation. Dan started us off with some unique choices from the menu. I tried the Smoked Apple Fashion, which was incredibly smooth with a crisp apple flavor and a subtle smoky finish. It was so easy to drink almost too easy! My girlfriend ordered the Gangnam Style, which was visually stunning with boba pearls, though not very strong if you're after a more potent drink. Next, I had the Cider House Mule, and it was hands-down the best mule I've ever tasted. They swapped out the typical vodka for spiced rum, and it was a game changer bursting with flavor and perfectly spiced. This is when things started to get really fun. Dan, seeing that we were enjoying ourselves, began crafting custom drinks for us, starting with Dan's Malibu Special for my girlfriend. She loves Malibu, and this drink was fruity, smooth, and delicious. It was so good, I had to order one for myself. Dan recommended adding a shot of tequila to give it a bit more kick, and he wasn't wrong this was next-level good. Honestly, Dan's Malibu Special needs to be a permanent item on their menu. It's that good and would definitely be a hit. Dan then served up a Peanut Noir Old Fashioned. I know I know, peanut in a cocktail sounds odd, but it was incredible! I was blown away by how well the peanut flavor worked in an Old Fashioned. It was one of those drinks that make you question why you haven't had something like it before. Dan mentioned that unlike many places that use store bought ingredients, they make a lot of their mixers and components from scratch. For instance, their ginger root is muddled fresh for mules rather than relying on ginger beer, which really makes a difference in flavor and freshness. Following that, I tried a Chocolate Old Fashioned, which, while still very smooth, was probably the weakest of the Old Fashioneds I had that night, but it still went down easy. By this point, I was starting to feel the effects of all these fantastic cocktails, especially since I hadn't eaten all day! I ended my night with a Summer Old Fashioned, garnished with either rosemary or thyme (I can never tell the difference). It had that signature smoothness Dan brought to all his Old Fashioneds and was a perfect end to the night. The ambiance of The Laundromat was fantastic. It had a lively yet relaxed feel, with a mixed crowd of both older and younger patrons. Sports were playing on the TVs, and you could tell the energy would pick up even more when the live music kicked off around 7:30. Unfortunately, we had to leave before that to grab some food (after all that drinking, I needed something in my stomach!). Thankfully, I had the foresight to take a Lyft to The Laundromat, easily the best decision of the night. Overall, The Laundromat is an absolute gem. The drinks were some of the best I've ever had, the conversation with Dan was great, and the atmosphere was perfect for a fun, laid-back night out. I thought we were going to maybe be tracing the image onto the canvas (as I have done that in previous paint studios) and we did not. We did everything free hand and he was an excellent teacher and was very helpful. There were several times where I thought I had ruined my painting and he helped me fix little mistakes which just added character and made it unique. There was an awesome playlist going the whole time that kept us excited and signing along (I wish I had a copy of it). I encourage everyone to try this place out and support this new business!
