It didn't take long for dance moms from other schools in the area to hear about Andrea's amazing pointe technique immediately after she landed here in Chester, NJ. Dancers improve so quickly with Andrea's teaching methods, you have to see it to believe it. Starting at a young age with proper technique is so much easier than having to relearn it properly. To share a personal story: one of my daughter's, who started dancing in diapers at age two, decided to stop dancing at the end of eighth grade. Instead, she cheered for both scholastic and competition teams in HS, but deep down I knew that she was not happy without dance in her life. We brought a dancer friend to meet Andrea during the summer before her senior year, and Andrea announced that she will be offering two dance tracks this year; contemporary and classical, and that my daughter should come and check it out. it was as if someone pinched her and said "go for it," and she said "I think I"ll try it." She has not stopped dancing since, and I am so grateful to Andrea for welcoming her back to her studio as a senior and helping to get her ready for college auditions. My daughter is proof that good solid technique is not forgotten, it's just put on a back burner for a little while until you are willing to go for it. My daughter is now a freshman at a wonderful conservatory, which would not be possible without the personal guidance and top-notch dance instruction from Andrea Kramer at Ballet Forte!

Thanks to the individualized attention that is given to each dancer by owner/teacher Andrea Kramer. The level of instruction in Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz is the best in the area and the dancers are given real "performance" opportunities in NYC and NJ as well as opportunities to "compete" individually or as a group at YAGP and NYCDA. Her faculty, guest teachers and choreographers have tremendous professional dance experience and training that you will not find at any of the other local studios. Many of her dancers go onto the best ballet and contemporary dance programs including Julliard, NYU Tisch, Fordham Ailey while others not pursuing a BFA receive dance merit scholarships at well known universities! What ever your dancers goals are with dance, this is the place to be!

Updated 7/18/2016 It…read moreis hard to fathom that I post a negative review and all of a sudden people post good reviews. It's comical at best and clearly shows guilt. There has not been a review of this place in years. I am not spewing lies I am simply stating my experience. Lynn, the owner, has put too many things in writing to dispute the facts. She can clearly use her mouth to spread lies but my attorney and I have all the written words from her. She wrote to me she knew I was leaving the studio for weeks so she treated my daughter poorly in class for that duration and not only did she throw my child out of dance she now refuses to return the monies which are mine and she has so stated in writing they are mine. She wants a settlement agreement. A settlement agreement? What has she given me? Nothing - not even the money she owes me. It's criminal. She is a common thief who wishes for me not to speak ill of what she has done. Her actions are heinous. How can I not warn others? She decided to toss my child two weeks before recital because I said the truth that the studio is filthy and smells of sewage. The reality is she knew we were leaving and wanted to make my child's experience sour. Her actions were retaliatory for me making a decision not return the following year. Shame shame on you Ms Lynn. I had decided many months ago to leave the studio next year. I, as a customer, fulfilled my obligation and would have never reneged on a commitment for the year. What kind of integrity would it show not to fulfill a commitment? Clearly not the role model I want my child to grow up with. She did not like what I had to say .... She never approached me..... She never asked why...... She simply does not meet her contractual obligations. She made a huge error to put it in writing that she knew we were leaving and she made a list of all the monies she owed to me. First she robbed my daughter of a good dance experience than she robbed me of my money. I have watched Lynn discipline children and punish children as she fits without consulting the parent. She threw another child out of the studio just a few short days after my child. She is a wild card. Teachers are leaving....students are leaving and a lot of kids are dancing elsewhere. You are the company you keep. Word of mouth is a powerful tool. Original review I found this dance studio to be down trodden, filthy and antiquated. I have heard that the health department made a recent visit. I do not feel this studio promotes a professional atmosphere. We decided to leave and I wish we did it sooner.

This is a very good dance school if you want your child to be part of a competition dance troupe…read more My daughter has taken dance classes at other dance schools and we always expected the recital to be around 2-2.5 hours long. This dance school was the exception as their recital lasted over 3.5 hours and was followed by 20 minute speeches from various adults thanking everybody, then followed up by handing out individual awards to students on stage. We arrived at the recital at 3:30pm (show started at 4pm) and finally got in our car at 8pm. There was a 15 min intermission in order to stretch our legs and get the circulation moving again. The recital consisted of 52 dance performances. Out of the 52 performances about 30 if not more of them were performed by their competition dance troupe. The dance troupe did a beautiful job, and they all are very talented dancers. It was a joy to watch them dance from large groups, small groups and individual dances. Not sure why they needed to perform over 30 different dances as they should have performed a lot less in order to give us a preview of what they are all about. I also found out during the show, my daughter did not get to see any of the performances as she was sitting in a room and watching a movie with her group.

When my daughter wanted to start tap lessons, she was a little older than most kids and she didn't want to be in a beginner class with all 6 year olds.  BPA had a beginner adult/teen class that was perfect.  She learned so much with Mark in one year she skipped a level the next year. My daughter loved it here so much she would get up early on Saturdays to help out as an assistant in a dance class for the little kids before her own ballet class. Elisa and Mark are professionals from Broadway, TV and film so they are very talented and are excellent teachers but also have a warm and fun environment.   My daughter is in college now training to be an actor and I know Elisa and Mark's teaching and encouragement helped her make it to college

As a long time recreational tap dancer, I was originally drawn to BPA to experience another teacher's tap style, but soon after working with Mark, he discovered what I really needed to grow - other dance styles and full body movement. Thanks to Mark, I am learning how to work with my body, which has significantly enhanced the performance quality of my tap routines. It is my pleasure to recommend Broadway Performing Arts!
