I haven't tried their bibimbap yet, I've only stuck to the bargain deal for a quick lunch of £3 for korean barbecue take out. I suggest for places like these that have food sitting out, to order during lunch hours and not towards the end of the day at 5-6pm when the food is soggy. I'm not crazy about this place but it will do for the time being: convenient, fast, and inexpensive when on the go. Side note: one of the lady-workers was eating from the ingredients bar with a pair of chopsticks right in front of me as I was ordering. One word: shameless. read more

For 9 pounds GBP I got miso soup, spicy pork Bibimbap and rice. 20 minutes from getting seated to paying at the counter. No frills. Quick service. AND no tipping expected!! Legit. This isn't the best Korean food in London, but it is pretty good for takeaway when you fancy some bibimbap at lunch time! Why I like it: - The bibimbap is fresh, pretty spicy (if you ask for hot sauce) and yummy - They are sooo speedy! I manage to pick up lunch in just a couple of minutes! - You get loooads of yummy veggies, meat and rice for £5.50 - £6.50. Bargainous. Last time I was really craving bibimbap, I popped in but the lady didn't listen to my order and started serving me a portion of tteokbokki rather than the bimimbap I'd asked for. I had no idea what it was (and I was curious) so I let her give me that instead. It is like a super spicy stew, with veggies, fish cakes and cylindrical mochi. The flavour was gorgeous (oh, so spicy) and I really liked the mochi - but it was a little *too* spicy for me by the end of the bowl! **Just avoid the pajeon here. Yay! Came here with my friend while we were on holiday. Our hostel was right near the British Museum so we'd pass this place often. We're both Korean and one night we were craving Korean food so we headed here since it was conveniently located. The food wasn't gourmet by any standards, but it definitely got the job done. It was odd that they charge extra for banchan (side dishes like kimchee and tofu) but maybe Korean restaurant custom is just different in Europe. We each ordered a bibimbap which was loaded with stuff (maybe they favored us after realizing we were Korean) and shared a miso soup. I've also done takeaway here when I came to the UK on holiday with my sister. They give you all the utensils and napkins you need, which is nice. The seating is pretty limited and the decor isn't great, but it doesn't claim to be a 4-star place so can't be snooty about it. read more

I LOVE Korean food! I grew up with many Korean friends around me, moms cooking and all, and I know what good Korean food tastes like! This hearty little place is not only tasty, but deliciously affordable! (I know from being in Korea, that food doesn't need to set you back a fortune!) We got there a bit late (19:45, 15mins before closing) and they only gave us take away, but it saved us a few pounds, the portions were generous and it was scrumptious! I happened to stop by here in early July 2014 before spending an afternoon at the British Museum, having noticed it a few times before. Although I have visited the UK several times over the years, this was the first time that I ever went to a Korean eatery in the UK. And I have pretty high standards on Korean food, since I live in Los Angeles and have also spent a lot of time in Seoul. The basic dish here is a bowl of bibimbap (bowl of rice mixed with vegetables), the namesake dish of the eatery. Although it's less authentic compared to what I get in Los Angeles or Seoul (the carrot, for example, tasted a bit off), I still liked it. I only wish it was served in a more authentic fashion, in a stone pot. The price is, by London standards, very good too. £6 for a bowl of bibimbap, and if I go for a combo which includes Coke and a side of kimchi, £8.50. It's higher than what I'd pay in Los Angeles or Seoul, but not by much, and paying £1 extra for a side of kimchi is standard practice in the UK anyway. Loved the attention from the staff. The male assistant seemed to be of South Asian ethnic origin, but he spoke fluent Korean. I got to brush up on a bit of Korean myself with him; his Korean, though accented, was much better than what I sometimes hear from Korean-Americans back in Los Angeles. I come here for my healthy bibimbab fix and it is simply delicious! Their version is low on garlic and skillfully seasoned. At £5 for the meat one, it is great value. Without the meat (beef), this is a vegan compliant dish. Service is fast as only simple assembly is needed. Yum yum yum read more

I had Spicy tofu broth, there was no egg in it(which is essential ingredient for this dish) and the taste itself was totally different from what I used to have in Korea. I could feel that they just put some instant paste and frozen seafood all together. The rice was cold and not moisture at all. The waitress was not kind at all, without letting us know the description of foods. Also, you need to pay £1 for fried egg for bibimbap. The egg is definitely essential part of bibimbap, not an optional one. Please find somewhere else. read more

After studying at the library, I would stop by Bibimbap Cafe for a quick lunch. I've had their bibimbap a dozen times and it's always very good. Also ordered kimbap once, that was good too. It's more of an in-and-out type of place than a sit down restaurant where you can relax and linger. If you know you're looking for a good bowl of bibimbap, this is a good place. If you want a wide selection of Korean food, this is not the place for you. My fiance and I are in London for a week after spending three weeks in Colombia and two weeks in Ecuador, so the variety of food here has been spectacular. We have especially been missing our Asian food after having lived in Hawaii for ten years and Seattle for three years! We visited the British Museum on a bank holiday (Memorial Day in U.S.) so we were tired from walking around. The restaurant was not very busy as we visited around 14:30. The service was very friendly and the food was super quick. We ordered two bibimbabs which comes with a small portion of miso soup. We also ordered a green onion pancake. For our three dishes the total was 17 pounds (approximately $22 USD) and the portions are quite generous. I highly recommend this place! read more

I must be spoiled or something from Korean food/culture in New York (Queens) because Bibimbab Cafe just didn't do it for me. It was definitely better than I expected, but very bare minimum in terms of service (no banchan, hot tea, etc). I ordered the japchae. Maybe that was my mistake, given the cafe's name? But that's what I was craving! Anyway, it is conveniently located near the British Museum, so for a quick bite, I guess it works well. I really like this place! They have vegan bimbimbab at £5 for takeaway, it's filling and yummy. A very bare-bones place but it does the job. I love that it's right in front of the British Museum without being crowded (at least from what I've seen of it). I even used it as a study spot once when it was quiet as a tomb inside. read more

I am a big fan of Korean food and enjoyed a great deal of Korean food in the US. After moving to London I was very excited to come to This place but quickly got disappointed. There are no side dishes that usually come free with the dishes, the taste is bland and too westernized. Pancakes are rather oily and too small for the price (£4.5).
