Through no fault of Raley's there was a mix-up in my grocery delivery. The customer service lady…read morewas so nice and helpful and straightened the whole matter up.

Unfortunately this was one of my worst experiences at this store. I went in and talked to James…read morewho is always very nice and professional. I let him know I had a return and asked if I return it first? He said if I was doing shopping just hold it until I go through the line. I asked if that was the same if I went through self checkout. He said yes. So I went shopping and was very disappointed that they were out of items of the 3 day sale and no rain checks were being given since it's a three day sale. To be out early on the second day on two items was very disappointing that the company would not make sure they gave stock to support their customers needs. Than to top it off when I went up front to pay for my groceries the young lady up front who was doing self checkout gave me a disgusted look when I told her I had a return. I told her the manager James had instructed me to do it this way. I asked her if she needed my receipt and she ignored me so that I spoke loudly and asked her again. She asked me why I was yelling. I told her I wasn't yelling I was just speaking louder so she could hear me and answer the question. I asked if she wanted to call James and ask him if the directions he gave me were wrong. She gave me a refund but never apologized or smiled or did anything to resemble good customer service. She was a young brown haired young lady and this happened at 545pm at terminal 8 if you want to research store #309. 5/16/26

I was trying to get $20 cash back, so the cashier (big guy with a turban) agreed to let me do it…read morefor $2. I gave him the card, and as he began working with it, I asked if the dog at the front door was friendly (intending to pet it). He completely ignored me, giving me a sense of what was to come. I noticed that there was a sticker on the card swiper that read "ATM Fee: $0.75", so I brought this up (since he was charging me over double instead) and his demeanor immediately changed (from neutral guy ignoring me to offended guy defending his ethics). He began loudly fast talking, saying something like "ATM card means debit card, that's if you do a debit card transaction." I responded that my card is debit (otherwise cash backs don't work). He then changed it to "that's if you buy something, not for cash back" (stores get charged the same exact fee whether cash backs are involved or not). So I nicely offered to buy something instead, but then he loudly replied "no no no that would count as a separate transaction. If you want to buy something I charge you two times." (Why would you need to run a separate transaction and incur double the fees?) At this point I clammed up and stopped talking to him. Since my demeanor had been so gentle before, he noticed this contrast and realized that I myself had realized I was being screwed, so he responded with "hey, it's business". In my mind I agreed; it is indeed (bad) business to nickel and dime a local resident into never returning. Had he let me buy something (in a single transaction) instead, I would've spent at LEAST $10 (and who knows how much more in the future). Since I didn't look local to him as not many Asians live in Merced, this never even crossed his mind. Instead, I won't be returning and get to play with the beautiful dog either, so in the end everyone lost because he wanted to earn an extra $1.25 off me :(

I only came here to buy a mega millions ticket when the Jackpot was at $670 million and from what I…read moresaw this place had everything and anything the average liquor store should have. There are a few knocks I have to give this place though. First off, the smell just blew me away.......in a bad way....it was terrible. Also, she had a German Shepard inside walking around the store which I am assuming is there for protection. Also, the woman who I am assuming is the owner didn't acknowledge me for a good 5-7 minutes while I was at the counter and she was watching her international TV show. My biggest gripe though would have to be that I cashed in a lotto ticket for $5 and she immediately purchased another one for me without giving me my cash back.....I didn't give her permission nor did she ask me. I thought that was extremely rude, and I wanted to do something about it but since the smell was so rancid I decided to just take the ticket and run since I couldn't tolerate it anymore.
