The sheets and towels were clean and fresh. The A/C was noisy but it worked very well. They only replace the towels every third day, or if you ask specifically for some. The whole hotel was clean and fresh. The lobby and hallways were well kept. The staff were friendly and cheerful. The breakfast area was spotless. When I ate in there, the staff were obviously taking great pride in the service and the food. The breakfast fare was the usual stuff you find in every hotel. The coffee was decent. Thumbs up to the ladies on the breakfast staff! I haven't stayed at a BW hotel in years, but after this trip I will consider them more often. Weed smoke slid under my door thick as fog, by 12:30 I was basically secondhand high and stuck there because the window doesn't even open. Called the desk. "We'll call the coach," she said. Yeah, because nothing kills a midnight party faster than a bald dude in flip-flops mumbling "boys, bedtime." They kept going: laughing, coughing, probably doing jumping jacks right above my head while I lay there breathing it all in. If you're not into waking up smelling like a dispensary and coughing like a pack-a-day smoker, skip this place. I'd take a Motel 6 with bedbugs over this circus. One star. The place sucks.

We stayed on the third floor and the room was nice, comfy bed, clean bathroom, flat screen TV with a large selection of channels and a great A/C. Late in the evening we were hungry but the restaurant had closed at 10pm. There is a small area near the front desk to purchase snacks. I inquired with the front desk about a particular snack but they were sold out, as a result we were given free bags of cookies. While I've never stayed in this area before, I must say this hotel is a great choice for the area and would recommend it to anyone.

It's right next to the street and you can hear every car that drives by, all night long, and it's a busy street. And then every time someone went out the door to take the stairs, it would slam and we could hear that because there was a big gap under the door. The toilet flushed so loud that it scared me. And the towel bar fell off when I picked up a washcloth, so we couldn't hang the towels back up. Lastly, there was only 1 vending machine and it was broken. Needless to say, we won't be staying at a Red Roof Inn anytime soon.

The staff was extremely helpful with check-in and we were provided a room near the lobby and amenities like the indoor pool and fitness facility. The room was decent sized and well air conditioned, which was our main need for our lodgings. The breakfast provided every morning was quite ample, with a waffle maker, hot foods like eggs, bacon, and sausage, fresh fruits, yogurts, and the other items you'd expect. The title of my review says it all: we were here for a week. The staff were extremely accommodating of our extended stay and each and every encounter with them was pleasant. From a service perspective, they were top notch. Thanks again to the Fairfield Inn in Sulphur for giving us a cool, clean room during a hot season in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Avoid this place. Non-responsive and safety issues…read more Checked in on 9/20/2026 and was placed in Room 115, a handicap-accessible room, in genuinely unsafe condition. The entry door was hung too tight and wouldn't close or latch without force. The window had a crack running its entire length, sharp enough to cut skin. Door peepholes were stuffed with tissue, never cleared by housekeeping. Bed linens had hair and stains on them when I pulled back the covers. Bathroom had hair on the walls, burned-out lights, and a tub stained with rust and mold. Curtains had stains that appeared to be blood. Outside the room: the elevator and ice machine were both out of service, lobby windows had failed seals with algae growing in the glass, and a support post in the driveway had clearly been struck by a vehicle, raising real concern about the entrance overhang it's meant to support. Worst of all was the parking lot lighting. After dusk, the entire perimeter of the property past the driveway was completely dark -- one light pole was down entirely, lying in the front field. Walking to my vehicle, I could not see other cars or potential trip hazards. For any guest, especially anyone with mobility limitations, this is a real safety issue, not just an inconvenience. The one bright spot was a front desk associate named Giovanni Beltran, who was professional, courteous, and moved me to another room once he saw the state of 115. He is clearly an asset this property doesn't deserve. I submitted a detailed complaint with photos, and have been trying to get this addressed for over three weeks (case #937XXX). I was told I'd receive a callback -- never happened. I emailed the property's GM directly -- no response. I called back and sat on hold, was offered 20,000 points to simply close the case, asked for a refund instead since that had been mentioned on an earlier call, and asked for a manager. Still no resolution. A follow-up email I received was a generic "sorry you had a bad stay" with no offer to actually address anything. As of today, I'm on hold again, still waiting for a callback that was promised for Friday 10/10 and never came. It has been claimed that the hotel is either under renovations or just completed renovations - NOTHING CAN BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.
