They do a great job at cutting hair. My daughter got a curly hair cut no wash no styling just cut for $80. I was a little shocked at the price, but they do know what they're doing so it's not the biggest deal. My issue is with their brush, the first time I bought it, it was melted off into the bag, to the point where I couldn't even open it, I was able to return for a new one. Not much improvement though. It's only been a few months and it's broken multiple times and I've tried to repair it since it was also pricey $30. I wouldn't buy it again. For the price I would expect it to be made with a durable material. read more

I had my second appointment today with Beverly after seeing strictly Capri for over a decade. It was AHHMAZING from start to finish. I was offered fresh coffee at arrival, before treatment started Beverly consulted with me regarding my hair and clarified if I wanted to make any changes; which was deeply appreciated. Throughout the color application, she was very detailed and it felt like a massage. I could've fallen into a deep slumber while she was washing my hair. My blow dry is phenomenal and she really listened to how I like my hair styled... I loathe volume. I went to get my hair cut/shaped by Capri and I am so glad I took the leap and did so. I usually go to an Ulta or cut my hair myself so I've never had anyone cater to my hair pattern. My curls have become ultra flat and my scalp WAY oily over the years and I finally decided to put some money into figuring out my hair. Capri was a godsend and helped explain why my hair was no longer working with me. The only thing that sways me from returning is the price of the initial haircut. I'm used to spending maybe $90 for a haircut so this was a huge leap for me. Even though I don't know if I'll continue going to Beyond Veneer regularly due to me not having the funds to do so I highly recommend Capri. My biggest fear (due to past salons I've been to) was that my hair pattern wouldn't be accepted or treated like everyone else's I'm mixed but my hair leans towards the wavy side so there's some trauma that comes from going to curly hair salons. My other fear was that this place would give off nose in the hair vibes and that I would feel very out of place. Capri and her apprentice were nothing but warm and welcoming. I have never had a hair stylist get to know me and my hair in this way along with getting a lesson in how to make my hair the best it can be. I finally took my 5 year old for her first haircut. I had been looking online for a long time to find someone who could cut her curly hair. I found a post on a moms group so I looked up the salon. Madelyn happened to have an availability and I took a chance and booked the appointment. Our experience was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable and her passion for what she does is so apparent. She brought new life into my daughters curls and educated the both of us on the do's and don't of curls. ( my daughter is the only one in the family with curly hair) She was so honest and did not try to upsell me on their products like most places do, but after I saw what they did to my daughters hair I purchased them anyways. The Ranan shampoo and conditioners are heavenly and have a fresh aromatic scent that is not overpowering. The haircut was good but really I wish they offered shorter and cheaper appointments. Not everyone needs the very detailed explanation of how they are cutting each strand by curl pattern. I can't spare two hours for a haircut. The product used definitely had artificial fragrance - which I told them I'm allergic to. I still have a lingering fake smell the next day and sneezing... Need to wash it again asap. Didn't over chop my hair as requested. I will be looking for a cheaper and quicker salon to go to for my infrequent haircuts. The hairdressing chairs do not recline and can be super uncomfortable to sit in for two hours especially for someone with neck or back issues. read more

I was referred to Capri by my sister. They used to work together at a salon in Palo Alto. I've gotten highlights and color from another stylist and it turned out to be a lot lighter and chunkier than I wanted. I asked for subtle highlights but instead got chunky blonde highlights. It was also a little too yellow for my liking. The color didn't look bad, but it wasn't what I wanted. I asked Capri if she could make it look more subtle since I wanted something low maintenance. Capri took the time to explain to me what she was going to do to my hair to make the color more subtle. I liked that she was educating me about the science but not getting too technical and spoke in terms that I understood. I'm so glad to have found her. Where do I start!!!! I have been going to Capri for over 6 months now and my hair is the healthiest and prettiest it has even been. My first visit was for full highlights and extensions. I return about every 8 weeks for extension upkeep, conditioning treatment and glaze, sometimes I need a trim.
