Great service. Great small plates. The staff is very friendly and of course Lydia the owner is very knowledgeable about wine.

We got the cold noodles from the Asian food truck and gluten free fried pickles from another one. The cold noodles were excellent and the fried pickles were a bit salty but also very good. It had a chill casual vibe with music playing. The service was very friendly. Prices were moderate. Great spot to stop if you're looking for some grub in Redmond and like variety.

I wrong, that first visit was Strike One! At our second visit we found what we thought was a nice table and ordered some drinks at the bar. My drink did not taste right. I took it back and told the bartender what I had ordered. She quickly prepared the correct drink. It was good. Not long after that the wind came up. We were all getting cold and agreed that we were not enjoying the experience. We left. Strike Two! The third time we came prepared for the cold and found a table that we thought was protected from the wind. We ordered drinks and food, from the food trucks, and settled in for a pleasant evening with friends. Soon the wind started blowing dust and dirt around us. We tossed nearly half of the food in the trash because it was too dirty to eat. Strike Three! Sorry Food Truck People, what we were able to eat was good; but, we will not be returning to Blacksmith Public House.

Update review. We keep getting a male server who is stressed out and impatient. Makes us feel…read morerushed. Acts like he's a great waiter and like we're unworthy customers. He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.

The vibe was peaceful and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Service was attentive, though a bit on the slower side, we waited almost an hour for the main course. They do have a kitchen break between 3:30-4:30 PM, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit during peak hours. The food was fresh, flavorful, and creatively presented--it's clear the chef enjoys experimenting with unique flavor combinations. My husband tried the seafood lasagna, which was a tasty and satisfying treat. The scallops dish was also delicious, though slightly too salty for my taste and quite light--it came with a small amount of polenta and a vegetable purée, so I found myself a bit hungry afterward. Many people around us were ordering pasta, and it looked fantastic--definitely something I'd love to try next time. Overall, a beautiful place with great food and a memorable atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We started with the calamari, which was lightly fried and perfectly prepared--crispy without being heavy or greasy like you often find elsewhere. For our entrées, I ordered the Sole à la Meunière, and it was absolutely outstanding. It was cooked beautifully, and I enjoyed every last bite. My husband chose the Cassoulet and loved it just as much; his plate was completely clean by the end of the meal. The service was excellent as well. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout the evening without ever being intrusive. To finish, we shared the Lemon Tartlet, which was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. Great food, excellent service, a warm atmosphere, and an overall fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

The sausage wasn't spicy and the goat cheese and fig jam were so good together. My only suggestion is cooking it a little less time because the outer edge was quite hard and eating it gave me jaw pain. Another thing I thought was odd was how everyone's food came out at different times. It was an 8 person book club and some people were not eating at all while others were nearly done. Super nice service though and the place was really pretty. I liked the cute salt and pepper shakers that were different on each table!
