He has a fabulous eye and never runs out of suggestions and techniques, yet he remains kind and encouraging. At first I wondered if this training would be a good idea, as I've always enjoyed making art that does not look classical. But what I've found is that my eye is getting better and that what I am learning here is strengthening my more abstract work. I also love that the artists taking the class are focused and dedicated, another source of inspiration. Most of them work full time, so the fact that they are making time for this activity shows a degree of commitment that is energizing to be around. Also being mindful of how long you completed the class and reaching out to the business for pick-up. Initially I was told an e-mail would be sent letting me know my item was ready for pick-up. As 4 weeks went by without hearing anything I decided to reach out myself. All pieces are kept outside the business in a cabinet - so you can come anytime and collect. Inside were so many pieces and several looked similar - honestly, I almost took someone else's but remembered I placed my initials on the bottom! Took a star off my initial rating due to the paint job. It is patchy and inconsistent; slight bummer but would still recommend the experience.

it's on the whole other end of Charlotte and completely opposite from me which is terribly…read moreinconvenient but since this is where the instruction is this is where I am, off and on, a couple times a week. been going on for a while and will continue so for a few whiles more... a year and change ago, at the onset of the plague hysteria, the Governor's office announced that ALL in-person instruction in the state was suspended per direction from the lead duck at the CDC and the information on CPCC's web site reflected the same... except that in-person instruction never really stopped (at least in the tech programs) and now I'm a year behind in school but still slightly ahead of the grading curve. thank you so very little mr governor :-( generally speaking schools have a choice to either spend money on furniture and window dressings OR equipment; this program is one of the top in the field nationally so guess where the money went... yep, the lab furniture is a bit dated but still functional but the classroom tech is current and the tools and apparatuses I've used so far lands on the spectrum between industry-standard to state-of-the art which is pretty impressive all things considered. please be aware that buildings 1 and 2 are part of building 3 and the other building is 4 which contains a well stocked vendo-land, the bookstore and library and metal working shop. parking is easily accessible from Hebron or you can maybe park closer by coming in off Nations Ford? this might involve a bit of driving around but you're in a car so no biggie, right? or would you prefer to remain uneducated?

It is a very different option that will appeal to a select group of students. For starters... 1) NWSA is an arts focused school. That means each student picks an artistic "major" ranging from theater to orchestra... dance to visual arts. All students are required to take a class each semester which hones their ability and connects them with students of similar interests. 2) The school is a magnet school, which means that it draws students from around the entire county. Unlike a traditional high school which pulls students from a neighborhood area with the same students in the same classes, you are more likely to find a wide variety of students from different socio-economic levels and ethnic groups. This helps explain why NWSA is the most evenly integrated school of any of the top 5 academic programs in traditional CMS high schools. (NWSA ranks in the top 4 or 5 schools traditional high school programs academically year after year in CMS) 3) The students who attend have a tolerant and accepting school culture. Fights are a rarity compared to other high schools and although no school is perfect, NWSA has fewer conflicts than any other traditional high school in the district. 4) The culture of the campus is open-minded and voices of all views are represented, even if the left is better represented than the right. The difference is that students tend to be more thoughtful in their reasoning and more polite in their exchanges. Overall, based on its strong academic scores, easygoing culture and friendly atmosphere, I rank NWSA as a 5 star option but for students who are seeking a less judgmental and ultracompetitive environment.

The faculty is a bit polarized, meaning we have some faculty members that are always available, very qualified, reliable, etc and some of them that won't even show up. But even when the teachers don't show up, Northwest makes sure that you get what you need to learn and live. For instance, this year my AP Lit teacher has not shown up all year, but Northwest has set us up with an NCVPS class, an upstanding English teacher that helps facilitate work with us even though it's not really her job, and the principle herself came and talked to us about how this class was gonna get done, addressed our concerns, and told us how they were gonna help. There are definitely faults at Northwest, but I wouldn't regret any of my time spent there.

I am a single mother raising 2 children. One of my kids has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome which has made life even more difficult. Getting this degree I thought would be impossible is now made possible because of Devry and their team of professionals that have worked with me. Truly disappointed that Lisa the owner cares about the business but not about the well being of the kids. We had to unenrolled our son due to back to back incidents with the teachers . Despite the multiple complaints and opportunities that we gave the school they still didn't want to work with us with the unenrolling fee. We were forced to take our son out after many issues and he stating the he didn't want to be in the school anymore. Lisa deleted and added messages in the parents app as she pleased so the rude messages from the teachers will not appear. He was moved to his old class where he felt safe, but this was done after multiple incidents and we lost the trust in the school. One of the teachers in the afternoon class was rude to me and told me to lower my voice , and be quiet when I was telling my son to roll his mat to come outside. As an adult, the tone made me feel uncomfortable, as if I was being reprimanded. I can only imagine how a kid will feel if that teacher is talking to them in the same way she did to me. Lisa decided not to work with us and charge the full upcoming month just because we saw it is not safe for our son anymore. How can we keep our son in that environment? Will definitely raise this with best business bureau. Parents be aware the employee turnover is high and that says a lot!

My toddler was unhappy and stressed there, did not like his main teacher, and would complain about her yelling and another child hitting him. When I brought that up to the teacher she said that she was not aware of him having been hit and that he should tell her if someone hits him. The last time I brought my child in I saw the boy pick on him and the teacher was not paying attention. And I myself have heard the teacher raising her voice on a couple of occasions. When we left, no one seemed to care. There was a conversation about him finishing off his last few weeks in a different classroom which went unanswered. We had previously experienced a preschool with admin and teachers that were warm and personable and took an interest in each student individually, but switched due to scheduling needs. This school was not like that. He learned, but this was not a warm, caring environment towards the students or parents, so we're putting him back in his old preschool. To be fair, I did like Ms. Margo in admin and my child's favorite teacher was Ms. Lana who is the enrichment teacher.
