They have been able to accommodate my part-time schedule, which I really appreciate. I do wish they allowed parents to choose any days they wanted, but I currently have her enrolled on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday schedule. One thing I really love is that every teacher seems to know my daughter by name. Even teachers who aren't in her classroom know who she is, and that brings me so much joy and comfort as a parent. It makes me feel like the staff genuinely pays attention to the children and cares about them. The first two weeks were definitely tough. Separation anxiety was hard on both of us, but thankfully, it got much better. Now, when I drop her off, she smiles and doesn't cry anymore, which makes me feel so much better! Another thing I really like about the school is that they have cameras that parents can access. The cameras aren't available 24 hours a day, but parents are allowed six 5-minute viewing sessions, which still gives me the opportunity to check in on her throughout the day. Overall, our experience has been very positive so far. I would definitely recommend this nursery to friends and family. Two months in, and so far, so good!

My son was enrolled here for 8 months. I enrolled him when he was 18 months. The location was…read moreconvenient and they had openings for his age group. Also my 13 year old niece attended this center when she was a toddler so I felt comfortable. Boy oh boy was I in for a huge disappointment! I don't even know where to begin. After the third month of enrollment, I started looking for a new facility to place my son. It took another 3 months to find somewhere I felt was suitable and we had to wait 2 more months until the fall semester before he could start there. Hence the 8 months stay at gateway. So this place has an incredible staff turn over. In the 8 months my son was there, literally 8 staff members left or quit or were fired. It was unbelievable! Every few weeks we would get an email informing us that miss so and so is no longer with the center and miss xyz will be starting soon. Sure enough as soon as miss xyz started the cycle would repeat. There was one teacher who was there in the mornings when I dropped my son off and she smelled like marijuana. It blew my mind! How the heck do you come to work at 7am with the stench of weed? The facility opens at 6:30 but is never staffed. I usually dropped my son off at 7am and there was only one teacher there. All the kids from all age groups had to stay with her until the other teachers wandered in between 8:30 and 9am. I'm pretty sure thats a state violation. I came to drop my son off one morning and the teacher was sitting in the classroom moisturizing her feet and taking great care to concentrate on her heels. I was grossed out and pissed. She did wash her hands afterwards but I don't feel that this should have been done at the table where the kids eat their meals. When you have a question for one of the teachers the only response you get is 'I don't know mom. I wasn't there this morning. I just came into the class 30 minutes ago.' At one point I just stopped asking. I brought bug spray to be used on my son. Of course it was NEVER applied. He came home every day with huge bumps from insect bites. The next day I would remind the teacher hey there is bug spray and a permission slip for my son, and l would pick him up again with you guessed it.....bug bites. So I started to drop him off with long pants only. If I did put shorts on him I would douse him with spray when I dropped him off. So they boast water play every Friday in the summer. The first official day, I dropped my son off with his swim clothes, and a change of clothes and his shoes in a bag. I come to pick him up early (thank god) because he has an appointment and he's in the class barefoot. Ok so I'm livid. The teacher said to me 'you didn't send a change of clothes or shoes for him.' I said yes. I gave it to the teacher this morning when I dropped him off. And she said " Well I don't start till 9 so I don't know." Ok that's besides the point. If you think I didn't bring a change of clothes and shoes why on earth didn't you call me and say hey mom we need shoes for your baby? Are you that dense? All the while the bag with my son's clothes and shoes were sitting on his cubby! So my sons last day was on Fri August 24th. I go back to gateway on Monday the 27th to pick up the rest of his belongings and the expensive SSS bug spray that they never bothered using on him. The spray is no where to be found. Only the permission slip and bag that held the spray are in the bin. One teacher asks another if she's seen the spray and she replies "its in my bag." I'm thinking it's in a bag with other odds and ends with class room stuff. Well just when I thought this place and the staff couldn't get lower the teacher comes and retrieves the spray from her purse. She said to me she had to put it up or they would throw it out. I take the bottle and it's pretty much empty. I'm wondering why because the spray was never used on my son. I was so pissed and disgusted. When does this place hit bottom? I could go on and on about this place with all the stories I heard from other parents but I guess it wouldn't make a difference. I'm so glad my son is out of there. Today was his fourth day at his new daycare and he's doing so well. If I could give any advice or would be to stay away from gateway.

The curriculum is equally impressive--engaging, thoughtful, and developmentally appropriate. My daughters are not only learning but thriving. I see them growing academically, socially, and emotionally every single day, and I know that's because of the intentional care and quality teaching they receive. This preschool truly sets the standard. If you're looking for a place where your child will be nurtured, challenged, and celebrated, this is it. It's more than just a school--it's a family.

Pros: - The classrooms here are bigger than other daycares in the area - Flexible drop off and pick up times - Offers breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the kids included in tuition - Some of the staff like the assistant director and teachers are great Cons: - Staff shortages especially in the infant room. There are times when the ratio goes beyond the state mandated 1 to 5 - Tuition increases, multiple times in a year - Teachers are supposed to send 2 pictures per day per student. On average we would get 2-3 pictures per week. - Incident reports (reports to parents when child gets hurt) were no longer sent home to us. Our child came home with a quarter sized raw scape on her knee without any report. - Outdated security measures and check in - Director is not properly trained and does not do her job well. She did not treat parents fairly and would not respond to emails sent multiple times For the price you pay $1400 a month, you will find newer facilities that just opened in the area with updated security measures, cameras, much better student to teacher ratios, and quality management.

I confronted the director miss Nicole about all the conflicting information, and she finally told me that my son has been banned from Gateway Academy because their records show he attended another location and I broke the "Parent Code of Conduct" because I said some things that were not nice. Basically my son attended the Gateway on Mallard when he was 1 and I gave that location 1 star and left a detailed review. I was shocked! During the 7 months my son was enrolled in the Mallard location he had 7 different teachers! That location was awful. The only reason he was there that long was because I had to wait for a spot to open at kids r kids. But I was still willing to give this chain a chance based on all the 5 star reviews the Whitehall location recieved on google. However, since this chain penalizes parents and children for leaving honest reviews on bad experiences, I have to question whether all the positive feedback on this location are authentic. I am thankful they exposed their true colors before my son could be enrolled. Thank goodness for freedom of speech!

The class ratios are among the highest I have experienced in early childhood education, with…read morefour-year-old classrooms at 20:1 and three-year-old classrooms at 15:1. These ratios make it extremely difficult for teachers to effectively manage their classrooms, particularly when dealing with challenging behaviors and children who need additional support. I have witnessed children running from teachers, hitting and spitting at teachers, and jumping from furniture. I have also heard teachers express how stressed and burned out they feel. Many have shared that they are frustrated and saddened that they are unable to enjoy their jobs and the children the way they once did. High ratios, challenging behaviors, and a lack of support and communication from leadership have made it difficult for teachers to provide the quality care they want to provide. It is unfortunate because The Nest has the potential to be a really nice school. The school promotes the core values of Wellness, Kindness, and Fun, but in my experience, those values are not consistently reflected in the day-to-day environment. The best aspects of the school are the playground and the spacious classrooms. Unfortunately, both would benefit from better upkeep and maintenance. Most of the teachers I have interacted with are friendly, caring, and genuinely good with the children. It is clear, however, how much the current environment has contributed to their stress. Considering the high tuition, high classroom ratios, and concerns regarding communication and support from management, I would not currently recommend this school. I believe significant improvements in staffing, classroom support, communication, and overall leadership would be needed before I could recommend it to families or prospective employees.

We've been in 5 different (age range) classrooms and have had an amazing experience in each one. (Young infants, older infants, young tots, older tots, and Early preschool) My son loves his teachers and his friends. They've always done hands on lesson plans, even in the young infant room. He's learned so much from being here and I have to praise the staff for that! I'm also grateful that they're willing to do the "messy" activities with the kids, ie paint, water, markers, etc that I would personally have a conniption with, at home, at his age. I've noticed, the older he's gotten, the more difficult it is to get him to "want" to go home in the evenings at pick up, solely because he enjoys his school so much. And that's a huge testament to the environment at Primrose. And while tuition can be a tough pill to swallow, I do believe the cost does go towards ensuring a high quality staff, safety standards, and learning environment. I would (and do) recommend Primrose LW to anyone in the area!
