I called ahead to ask if there was any space for a haircut and they said yes and to come on by. The woman that washed my hair and helped blow dry it was very nice. They asked if I wanted a drink right away. Everything smelled nice and was very clean. Orlando is the hair stylist that did my consultation and did exactly what I asked for. You know how most places don't know how to style hair? You look at it and you're like I can do better. Well Orlando and his assistant (sorry if she wasn't his assistant) blow dried my hair amazingly. I am new here to this area, and my husband and I are both in the Army. With that being said the regulations can be very strict for someone like me who prefers the platinum blonde hair. When we first moved to this area, I was using a different salon and the dye was burning my scalp...an issue I have NEVER had in the past! I went in to get partial highlights with Orlando after recommendations from my three of my family members. I was skeptical at first because I thought, who can do great highlights in 1hr? Sooo surprised and so pleased! He gave me great highlights (caramel) - that flow well with my hair without obnoxious chunks - with ease and within the time frame I needed. I came around Christmas time. Thought I'd treat myself out for a change. I had Orlando, based on reviews. Not only did he act annoyed the whole entire time, he was rushing me. I wanted balayage with color and I couldn't because of how dark my hair was. So I did the caramel. And it looked like a half ass job, and he colored the roots purple and said its fade, but didn't for months. And then he asked if i still wanted to do the purple after telling me it wouldn't work and completely convinced me. Thats asking me to spend an extra 80-100. I spent almost 400 on some bullshit. I'm a good tipper and felt bad because he stayed an extra hour to do this for me. I tipped him 30% when I should've have tipped him anywhere close to it. I walked around looking stupid and had to immediately get it changed. I work hard for my money and this was the saddest hair color appointment I've ever had. One good thing was the haircut. Extremely pleased!!! I walked in there not knowing anything except I wanted to cut my hair short and dye it for the first time ever. Orlando was super patient and spent almost half an hour explaining the style and color options he thought were best and which ones he thought didn't really suit me. Lorena has been cutting my hair for a little over 6 months now, and she's fabulous! Always asks what I want, how my hair is 'behaving' and works with me to ensure that I get the cut I want, but also need. I'm having cataract surgery very soon, so I won't be back to see her for about 6 weeks. She cut my hair so that my bangs won't flop in my eyes and that my hair will look great until I can get back to see her. I can dry/style it, or wash and let it go curly. Lorena is amazing! This was my first visit and I am completely happy and impressed with the results. I highly recommend this salon. Orlando gave me great color, peek-a-boo highlights, a deep conditioning treatment and a short bob that works perfectly with my naturally curly hair. My hair tends to be dry, but with the treatment and hydrating color, my hair is currently silky soft. I plan to go back every 3-4 weeks for base color and a deep conditioning treatment and then do whatever else is needed to keep my awesome cut and color looking fresh. Let me first say I have never written a yelp review before. Second, I have been bouncing back and forth between doing my own hair and going to only one salon, and seeing the same person. While I loved that salon and had many a great colors and cuts, sometimes I didn't feel well listened too and sometimes I didn't leave completely satisfied. I booked a super last minute appointment here the day before Thanksgiving. I was so fortunate that they took me. I wish I had a picture of my results because they were incredible. I came to this salon with bleach blonde (and I mean almost white) hair. I wasn't totally happy with it, I thought it was just too much for me. I basically gave Orlando the wheel with my hair but he was totally cautious and made sure I was ready and aware of the process of going dark. I couldn't have been happier leaving with my new hair. He didn't pressure me to get my hair cut either, which was a complete plus. I have just booked another appointment to see him again. When shit happens I usually let go and move on. I never want to put a bad review but this is not something I can let go. I was told they do amazing on this Solon. I even looked at the reviews and my friend goes here too. I had my high hopes and confident on this salon but I was really dissapointed when I realize my balayadge didn't came out right. I left the salon not knowing after waiting for 4 days to wash it, I could see the harsh line. It look like it was dip dyed. When it came to cutting my hair, i ask a simple haircut which is a V shape on the back. Boy that hair cut was the worst hair cut I've ever had in my entire life. I was crying and upset cuz I barely do something to my hair and when I do, this shit happens. I paid 250 on the whole thing including the conditioner he offered when I ask him if I can buy it from any store and he said i can, he later on said they have the same price which is not. It only cost 8 bucks at Walmart and he charge 18 bucks. Now I'm not trying to be cheap. I would understand if he wants to make a profit there a dollar or 2 extra , I wouldn't mind paying for that but for 18 bucks? come on. So I spent 250 for a shit balayadge which I didn't get the right color I wanted, a shit hair cut and an expensive conditioner. I when back there to get it fix, I can no longer let him fix the balayage cuz I no longer trust so I went back to my original color. He tried to fix my hair cut. He did tried and it was a U shape so I'm like meh close enough and I just wanted to get out there. It's funny how he explain the reason why it was like that is because he didn't put any color on the top of my hair so it came out like that and said it will cost me more if he put some on the top hair and he thought I don't want to pay more. He even mention if I go to bubbles salon they will charge alot. In my thought i woundn't mind paying alot if they can get it done and done it right. When I came in there I showed the picture how I wanted that color and he just told me the price which I thought it was 150 but he said 220 so still I went ahead. He got the right color on the back of my hair but it's not even an inch the rest was yellow. I just wish he told from the beginning that he can't get that color for me. I wanted to get my money back cuz I wasted my time, money, and ruined my hair which he didn't even offer but then again what's done is done. My daughter and I have been in many stylist chairs and we have finally found a professional stylist and no longer have to wait 3-4 hrs for a style that takes less than an hr. We are Afro American and Dina takes very good care of our hair. She is fast professional and is really into hair care. Their prices are extremely reasonable. The atmosphere is elegant. And you never have to wait. She never overbook. We have been going to Dina for almost 5yrs. She is not only our stylist we like to call her a FRIEND.
