They are always running on time, and everyone is friendly and pleasant. Its a very clean, bright office; its small but its very well planned. The office is only 2 blocks from the train station, or if you drive they have 2 spots in their lot , or are only 1 block from the municipal parking lot. On his website, it says Dr Rubin is all about giving you a beautiful smile - well I don't know how he is at restorative, because he's so good at preventative. I've been going to him at least annually, usually bi-annually for 24 years (I'm in my 30's) and honestly, I have a great smile, and I believe Dr Rubin is a big part of that. Having a dentist that I not only trust, but that is pleasant, with a great staff means I don't mind going to the dentist, which means I end up getting great dental care. I've had 4 cavities in my life - each were caught very early, and therefore it really wasn't a terrible process to get them filled. I ending up cracking one (my own fault), getting an infection and needed a root canal. Again, it wasn't a terrible process because I had a great dentist, who took care of it quickly. For big jobs he refers me out - he sent me to a surgeon to have my wisdom teeth out. And when I had to have the root canal tooth redone after a decade, and decided to just get an implant, he referred me to a specialist (who was also really great!) Dr Rubin did pull my tooth himself, and he fit and had the new "tooth" made for me. Seriously - the worst part of the whole process - having the tooth pulled, the implant placed, the fittings, etc - was not being able to drink hot coffee for 3 days. That's how painless the procedures were: that's a good dentist! Cleanings and x-rays are like that too, quick, painless and easy.

But Dr. G's incredible patience and thoughtfulness, and the respectful manner in which he explains everything - treating you as a partner rather than simply a patient - made me choose him over two other doctors I had been considering. And I am so happy I did! Today, after many months or our collaboration I am in a very different place: medically, aesthetically, and emotionally. What's also very important to me is that Dr. Gerskowitz looks at the patient and his/her health in a integral way, which so rare at our time of infinite specialization. He is a real master. His approach is careful and intelligent, and what they call "bedside manner" is superb: once you are in his office, you immediately feel at ease. Dr. Gerskowitz is simply the best dentist I've seen in my life and one of the very best doctors of any specialization I've encountered. I just wish I found him earlier. The staff is equally great - I use this office now for my general dental maintenance and checkups. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly. The young lady dentist assigned to me was very inexperienced. She extracted the molar by chipping and hacking away where she eventually removed the molar in pieces. I ended swallowing bits of the molar. In that visit, since I had insurance , this place did anything and everything to max out as much as they could from my insurance. I was told that 25% of the bill had to be paid upfront, which was $588. That night I bled quite a bit and had tremendous discomfort. The next day my face was swollen and I had a slight fever and realized something wasn't right. I When to another Dentist to get to the bottom of why I was bleeding so much and had this puffiness and why I had all this discomfort. Was told that the reason I bled so much was because the stitching done at this Avant garde place was because it was done on one side of the gum and that the stitching should've have been done in a cross road method as opposed to one side of the gum and the grafting to cover the hole in the gum area was not there. Was also told that I also had an infection as well and was given a prescription. I ended Spending an additional $750 to correct this mess done at Avant garde. To add insult to injury, no pun intended, Avant garde wanted another$1,590. I left skid marks at Avant garde. As mentioned, it was a horrible experience. Stay away...

I had never been to his office, but my own dentist never returned my call. (That's twice, Dr. Lyu!!) Dr. Bassin moves quietly and confidently. He told me I would feel a pinch but I never felt a thing. I honestly could have fallen asleep while he was working on me because none of his movements were jarring or rough. I am appreciative that he got me in, thankful to interact with his lovely office manager, amazed at how painless it was, and grateful his prices are fair because I didn't have my insurance card. I found a wonderful new dentist who has earned my business.

But I got disappointed after the 1st appointment with Dr. S. Isaacs that they are ont anymore part of UH network and, allegedly, Tyna had made a mistake confirming their participation. I did the cleaning, some x-rays, a filling and a quadrat of periodontal scaling (which was only 2 teeth), and in addition to what UH Dental paid, i ended up paying $350 out of my pocket. The filling came out again and this is where I had to look for a different dentist and found Dr. Feder! First off, staff was great! Friendly and welcoming and made me feel at home. Andrea was very attentive to me preparing me with Xrays and getting me ready for the Dr. Feder. Dr. Feder was attentive, engaging and very informative. He took care of not one bad filling but two on two different teeth. He explained every step as he was working on my teeth and gave me enough breaks were I wasn't uncomfortable. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Feder and his staff. Night and Day from my previous dental experiences and I can honestly say I found my new dentist. Highly recommend.
