The Alcoholics Toys 'R Us!!! I love this place... I feel like a kid in a candy store. Just pick up a cart, never a hand basket, because you WILL walk out with more than you intended to. I always start at the wine section, looking for some good vino tinto to add to my ever growing stash. They have a good, not great selection, but probably some of the best prices outside of Costco. What you want to do is beware of all the ratings you see on the price labels. Sometimes the vintage they have rated isn't the same as the bottle on the shelf, and the vintage makes a very very big difference. Also, I feel like the somelier, Wilfred Wong, might be adding a few extra points to some of the wine ratings on the shelf to help them sell faster. I usually rely on ratings by WE (Wine Enthusiast), WS (Wine Spectator), or Robert Parker. Also look for wines that have won wine competitions. Usually anything that has won gold or even silver is a solid wine. Oh and then there are the champagnes.... mmmm... nothin like a good bubbly. I prefer champagnes over any other type of sparkling wines. I have ventured into California sparkling wines that are solid, but I stay away from the Italian and Spanish varieties, just never cared for them. Also, don't be fooled by the fancy names like Veuve, and think it's the only good one out there. There are a ton of lesser known names that you should try and you'll probably fall in love with. My fave is the Laurent Perrier Rose. If you get a hold of this bottle, you are assured of a very tasty, robust, flavorful champagne, that has hints of strawberry. Mmmmm Tasty! Let's not forget the plethora of vodkas in stock. I prefer Skyy or Kettle One for my mixed drinks, and stick with either Pravda or Goose on the rocks (with a lime of course, not squeezed please). I would say their scotch selection is a bit lacking. You could probably walk into a liquor store and find some nicer single malt scotches, that are perhaps rarer than what you'll find here. All in all it's a great experience. I just wish they would reward us larger consumers more with deeper discounts. I get a measly 5% coupon everytime I spend a certain amount. I'm sure they can do better than that. But I still love this place! read more

Warren (employee) is the reason I drive from Pacific Palisades to the Sherman Oaks Bevmo to buy alcohol. I didn't even have a need to buy anything today, but I did it just to hear Warren sing and laugh at his jokes. beer run! (or wine, or hard alcohol, or snacks, glasses, beer kits, etc...). their array of beer is vast, but they never really change their selection (or get more new ones). they have an array of different products so it's convenient in that sense (you can purchase your snacks, glasses/mugs, drinks, and whatever accessory you need to help make that drink). if i had a choice, i'd go into other mom & pop liquor stores but this will do if it's conveniently close by. their prices are little steep, but that's a corporate liquor store for ya. read more

I like coming to this BevMo. Its conveniently by the 405 freeway if you are headed into the valley. They have a good selection of imports both cold and room temp. When you are trying to experiment with a new brew try one of the many Paulaner's they offer. Plus the great craft beers. They also offer kegs here, so many choices. read more

Ah Beverages and More, or to the locals, Bevmo! This store rocks my after work world! I happen to even work at a place that sells wine, but in my haste to flee my place of business I forget "Hey! You're gonna need wine tonight" But I don't fret, I don't turn myself around, I head right on over to Bevmo! Great selection of all kinds of alcohol, from Raspberry beer (that's right Raspberry!) to $5 Muscato wine. They also offer snacks and not nasty 7-11 snacks these are the real deal like Kettle chips and chocolate mints! I haven't been to the other locations, but the Bevmo I go to is always very clean and spacious! read more

A plethora of goodies. This is usually the place to come to find that hard to find item or to try something new. The staff is always friendly, and if there is a large line starting, they open a new one for convenience. Most of the staff are really knowledgeable about their merchandise and aren't afraid of making suggestions if they can't find the items you are looking for. read more

This particular Bevmo has a poor Scotch/Whisky selection. I would say it has about 1/4 of the selection of the Northridge store. Since it's Bevmo I can't rate it less than three stars because, well they sell booze. If you are looking for Scotch/Whisky go to the Northridge location. read more

did you know you can do a $2.00 wine tasting here on saturdays from 2 - 5? 6 wines and 1 beer and 2 ciders, plus crackers and cheese (and carrot cake flavored candy corn...), all for $2.00, and that $2.00 gets deducted from the cost if you purchase a wine or brew. pours are definitely on the tasting side of things, which was fine with me as i was just getting back onto the horse yesterday after too much of a good thing courtesy of oaks tavern. plus, we totally scored and got to sample 7 more wines as a young man was sampling wines in order to choose what to order for his brother's wedding. since the wines he was trying would have been emptied after his tasting, all of us in the tasting area go to tag along on his connubial planning. definitely something to do again, and next time i will bring along my own glass. :) read more

I like this BevMo. The people are always helpful and polite. The place is clean and well organized. I can usually find what I am looking for. The 5 cent sales have increase to more that twice a year. The trick is to identify the really good wines from the Wayne Wang (?) recommendations. Who is this guy that claims an 84 wine rates 92 points??? I take my Cellar Tracker App Cork.ez with me whereever I go - that way I can scan the wines to see what other wine lovers think of them. Having said that I have found some great bargains at BevMo. I went to this Bev Mo. I wasn't happy I had to get someone a bottle of Tuaca. Bev Mo always has everything under the sun. They also have a double rude security guard. She asked if I wanted a bag I said yes please a small one. She said you certainly weren't getting a big one. Well ok. Then I left and put my receipt in the hand basket on my way out. She came outside and said don't ever do that again . She crumpled up my receipt threw it in my direction in the parking lot. Then she said thank you. As a longtime BevMo customer who just moved to this area, I have been very pleased to shop at this BevMo. They have quite a varied selection of wines, beers, liquors, etc., as I expected, and the prices are reasonable, not great, but reasonable. I have had numerous positive experiences with the very knowledgeable Jeff (unfairly denigrated below IMHO), who has suggested a number of heretofore unknown products to us, and enjoy the upbeat, singing African-American cashier (also disliked below)...management and employees have been helpful in general as well (looking in the back, holding orders, finding me cases, boxes, etc.)... read more

They do not price match - their prices are nowhere near best. Go to Mission Liquor for liquor/spirits. As an example Don Julio is $35 at Mission, $43 at BevMo. Saw other sites where it says BevMo price matches - that is not the case at this location! If you're trying to rip yourself off, come here. read more

The customer service here is awful. The corporate customer service says one thing and the store manager does another. Used to like this location because of the friendly staff, but I will never shop here again and make sure none of my family and friends do either. Don't try to exchange something that has never been opened (has the plastic seal on it) because they will tell you they won't take it even though the original receipt is present. The reasoning you ask? "If they can't put it back on the shelf" they won't take it. The store manager went so far as to say they would take a wine bottle back if he seal was on if they could push the cork back in (if it had been out in the sun) but my sealed bottle of tequilla was a no!? My issue with Bevmo is that they consistently overprice relative to Total Wine which is also a local option. Then I found out BM will price match up to 2 items from TW... EUREKA! I thought I had found the perfect balance between convenience and cost. Unfortunately something recently changed and today BM refused to price match my purchase because "the price was too low" lol. Kinda defeats the idea of a price match. So, I am on my way to TW now to spend my $250-$300 and stock up from a much larger selection. Hopefully others who are aware of this will choose to take their business elsewhere as well until the conditions on a price match are eliminated. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! I have never had an issue with any other location, in fact the location in Encino is great and I will drive the extra distance for better customer service.
