I had a fantastic experience thanks to Mark. I came in knowing I wanted to start making cocktails at home, but I had no idea where to begin. Mark took the time to walk me through everything, answer my questions, and explain what supplies and ingredients I would need. He was patient, knowledgeable, and never made me feel rushed. He offered great recommendations, shared helpful insights, and personally showed me where all the products were located throughout the store. Customer service like this is hard to find these days. I have only been to BevMo maybe like 4 times. Not necessarily for me, but for other people. I don't drink alcohol... (every now & then). I will buy few bottles of whatever other people's taste/palate requires. I was there 5 days ago and wanted to buy a housewarming gift for a friend of mine that just moved in to a new apartment building. I know she drinks and likes wine of practically any and every kind. I bought Josh red wine-Cabernet Sauvignon $13.99, and Riunite red wine more of a dessert wine by Lambrusco. Also $13.99. Great customer service by Christin & Kai. Store is filled with so many selections of wine, beer, seltzer, sodas, water, lemon juice, hard liquor & more...They even have variety of cheese in their refrigerated isle. Crackers, chips, cookies of different kinds with affordable prices. It is a good store, with helpful, knowledgeable employees with nice smiles. Eager to help you. Some hard liquor has chocolate truffle inside; fill in with Irish Whiskey and or/ Irish Cream. Store is clean, nicely stocked/organized, and is located conveniently inside the Vons shopping center that is shared with multiple businesses. With that being said, has plenty of parking spaces. I have to admit, I usually don't shop at BevMo! But we were walking on Ventura Blvd. running errands and while passing in front of it, my husband thought we should pop in. I was looking for Schweppes, it's my favorite tonic water and harder to find lately. He asked a gentleman working there who took us right to the area where they have it. We also got some small bottles of lemon juice and while waiting in line for register which didn't take long to get helped, my husband also grabbed a few drinks that looked like fun. Nice customers service, helpful folks here, chatty, great selection of merchandise, prices are decent. A good surprise! read more

Such a horrible location. Staff are super unprofessional and unfriendly. I went in with one of my friends as they didn't want to wait in the car since it was above 90° that day. Keep in mind we are both above the age of 25 with beards and all. I was the only one purchasing alcohol. As soon as we walked into the store, the male employee with long blonde hair followed us all around the store looking at what i was grabbing and listening to our convos. Fine, i don't care we weren't stealing anyways and i am used to this but at least make it less obvious that you suspect of us stealing. I go pay and then he asks for my friend's ID as well which was odd because i was making the purchase not him. Point is they told us we couldn't buy and we had to leave since my friend didn't have his ID. I had my ID i was paying so why would he need his ID?! So stupid, i shop at BevMo all the time since they're the only store that carries what i actually enjoy to drink and i have never had this issue even when going with my younger siblings. This store is full of racists. As a black man every time I come inside my experience is the sales people have seen a ghost. They speak, but still look at me with uncertainty and it's as if they saw a ghost. The implication of these types of interactions is that I'm there up to no good or that I'm a threat. So I will have to try a different location going forward. This type of experience has happened before over three times. Went in needing just simple syrup for a friendsgiving we were running late for and came out with Finest Call Premium Old Fashion mix, Triple Sec mix and 2 mini bottles that appealed to be for being so cute looking. Went in for Casamigos tequila and one of the employees (who's name I didn't get) saw me looking, asked me what I wanted and told me she'd unlock the glass and take it up to a cashier. Meanwhile I decided to look to see if they had any Vernors or Faygo and they had a 6-pack of Vernors for only $4.99, which is a good price compared to 6-packs of almost any pop at grocery store. When at the register Isabella and I had a conversation about 'pop' and I explained that's what they call 'soda' in the midwest. She was very nice and we had a fun conversation while ringing up my sale, which included a $12 discount on my tequila. So, while sometimes its frustrating at this store, this time it was just a nice in-and-out with helpful service and I found what I wanted! read more

Last night my husband and I went out of our way to this location to purchase some alcohol because they didn't have it in stock at our local BevMo in Sherman oaks. I was absolutely shocked and upset when they wouldn't sell my husband the alcohol who had his id just because I didn't have my id. I have been to the Sherman oaks BevMo many many times with my friends who never got their ID checked because I was the one purchasing the alcohol. I have even gone in to what my children! The staff at this location is so unfriendly and unprofessional. I will now be going out of my way to total wine to purchase the alcohol I was going to get here. read more

This BevMo is... Okay, I guess? I remember when I was a young guy living in L.A. and I was like, "Man! BEVMO is AWESOME!!! They've got great prices and great deals! They have a great selection! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!' Well now, all I think I'm left with is their... Selection? Everytime I go to BevMo now I think, "Didn't this used to be less expensive?" Especially wine. I feel as though I could go to BevMo and get a better than grocery store bottle of wine for a GOOD price. Now, it feels like I'm making an extra trip for not that much savings. As for this location, it's a pretty good little spot. It isn't as big as some other BevMo stores so the selection may be a bit limited, but not bad. They do share a parking lot behind the store from Ventura, but BE WARNED!!! It is the SECOND worst shared parking lot in Studio City (the Trader Joe's shared lot takes the top prize). It's difficult to get in and out of, and difficult to find a spot, ESPECIALLY a spot that's close to the BevMo. I probably would have rated them 4 stars but their COVID policies brought them down a star in my book. I get it, COVID sucks for everyone, but I feel that business owners need to also understand COVID SUCKS FOR EVERYONE!!! For a while they were doing online ordering only (and the BevMo website is ATROCIOUS) or APPOINTMENTS to go into the store. Yes, appoinments. I remember walking up to BevMo and the store employee asked if I had an appointment and I just walked away. I don't know if they've relaxed at all, but I have stopped trying to go. And I'm certainly not using their terrible website because I am a diva!!! So now, I just get the things I need at Vons while I'm grocery shopping. Stopped by BevMo this evening on my walk. I wanted to pick up a few supplies to make margies at home tomorrow and I don't typically keep any alcohol in my home other than wine. This week that has become very apparent, it's the second time in the last few days that I've needed something (the other night I had to come out for a couple tablespoons of vodka) and tonight for Cinco de Mayo supplies. I checked online before walking over and didn't care for their patron silver price in comparison to other local stores so I passed on this bottle and picked up elsewhere. The gal sitting outback monitoring the entrance was very helpful. She let me know right away that I could place an order online (already knew this) but she added the helpful tip - if you are here this way of ordering takes a bit longer since it goes through corporate before hitting the local store. Calling in the order directly was very simple. They answered and I ordered my triple sec and grand marinier. I was allowed in to pay and my order was all bagged up at the counter within literally, a minute or so. I was carded and if you see my review on this store from seven years ago, some things don't change. Again, during this trying covid time I'm happy that I was! Unless of course they have a policy of having to card on every order. Whatever the case may be, my friend had his ID so that worked out fine. I was out on a walk and only brought my debit card but not my ID. Very satisfied with the service and ease of purchasing from this location during what continues to be a very unusual time. I have always been a fan of BevMo. Not only are the selections extensive, but they always have unique food items which inusually pick up when I am entertaining guests. Yesterday I went in to search for the "unicorn" of beers (Golden Road Spicy Mango Cart) they didn't have any, but I saw some Extra Spicy jerky I wanted to use on a charcuterie board I was making for a party later that evening. So I grabbed a bag of it and a bottled water, NOTHING ALCOHOLIC. At checkout, the cashier asked for my ID. I was a bit shocked and asked why. He said, "our liquor license requires us to ID for everything." I travel extensively around the country developing hotel and restaurant concepts. NEVER in my 25 years of doing so have I heard of such a law that required ID for beef jerky and water. When I went next door to Vons to buy the exact same thing, I wasn't asked for ID. I know staffing is extremely challenging at this time and maybe the gentleman was new and hasn't been trained 100% yet, but I am almost 50 years old and certainly look it, so asking for ID for items that don't even pertain to alcoholic beverage sales is a bit much. I appreciate the cashier at Vons not asking me for ID when I bought the same stuff there. read more

Extremely Rude Staff. I went in to buy almost 100$ in alcohol and Sean the Cashier was extremely rude to me. Literally was shouting down the aisle to tell me that my mask was "slipping." And then proceeded to tell me three more times at the register. The store was empty. The only thing that was slipping at that point was my patience. Also - no one else has ever said this to me, and yes it was covering my face fully. I was not making a scene, getting close to anyone, or coughing or sneezing so it was really uncalled for. I'm not sure if it was just a power trip or that he's scared of other people, but he was wearing an N95 mask so who knows. If he's so scared I'd suggest for him to quit his job and stay home away from everyone else. I have no problem with complying with store rules, but when someone is a dick to me, it takes it to another level. If it happens again at this store I will not be returning to this location. One star for Sean, 5 stars for another Bevmo employee who was very nice and helpful who didn't say anything about my mask. read more

I went to their location in Studio City with my friend that wanted to buy some nice liquor to bring to his home... he asked for assistance since the liquor he was purchasing is pricy... nothing extreme but nice liquor... prices were not the best at all but the convenience of getting all in one place made my friend decide to shop there. He request several bottles, my friend being polite offered to help the employee with the heavy bottles. He didn't understand why but she answered that he couldn't touch the bottles until they were paid "it's store policy" so I told my friend that they do it because they are afraid that people run out with the bottles. We were surprise that they were that way but but we understood since things happen in those stores. Next, she brought some of the bottles to the back of her cashier, again afraid that we would grab them and run. By then we felt a bit uncomfortable that they were almost seeing us as criminals... just trying to find the opportunity to steal the liquor... but whatever... so then she said, before she went to the back for other bottles my friend wanted, she said: "I'm going to need both of your ID's. So we explained that I was not buying anything, I was just with him, so my ID was not needed, he was going to pay for everything. She said: No both of you need an ID to get the liquor, everybody in a group needs to present their ID. My friend asked her if the same policy applies if he was shopping in their liquor store accompanied by his 5 years old son... She said, No, only if they are are adults... no kids. So my friend snapped and ask to talk with the manager... but by then my friend was very upset with the customer service we were getting. The manager showed up but by then both of us were done, done, done with the sh....y store. BTW I'm an evidently grown up.... I would never recommend to go to BevMo store with F-up attitude and policies... where is the common sense these days??? BevMo!'s a solid destination for beer, wine, spirits and more. I was counting on the more, specifically Mason jars with their metal screw tops tooled for a straw but not just any straw. Make that stainless steel straws, please. Fingers crossed. I was cheerfully greeted by two sales associates merchandising the front of the store. Right away it was no-go on the straws but it just might a "go" on adult sippy cups. Escorted to a wall of well-priced barware for either festive or everyday celebration, I traveled with hope. Yes, BevMo! carries 'em. Too bad for me though. But they would be perfect for a Tiki party! Regardless, I'm glad I stopped. Location is huge. Savings abound. And in the know staff couldn't be nicer. Not the biggest location... in fact one of the smallest... but what they lack in space, they make up in that neighborhood vibe and customer service. Tatiana is one of the most personable employees I've encountered both her, the awesome beer specialist (blanking on his name... really cool guy) and cashier gave me a full service experience. I was stocking up to go out of town and got a good recommendation on a sour ale and scored two bottle of Gina Prosecco on their 5cent sale (buy one bottle... get the second for a nickel... not a penny) funny how I heard people say that... "jokingly" or "that means it's like free right"... everyones in showbiz here... Considering this is one of the smaller locations I'm impressed with the organization and upkeep... will be back again soon. They can get things in that aren't in-stock or carried yet... and will hold items for you... it's definitely a great place to go to try, stock or experience all your adult beverage needs. My only quarrel is that certain items are a buck to a few bucks more than competitors... at the same time BevMo offers quality exclusive win and deals on a small number high ticket items. read more

Bevmo is a 3-3.5 in my book. While they do have a lot of options in terms of alcoholic beverages, with a large selection of beer, wine, and hard alc, the prices here never seem to impress me. If you don't have a Bevmo card, you'll need one, because the prices are sky-high if you don't, and you will get ripped off. The club membership price is maybe a dollar or so above average sale price at a CVS or grocery store for beer. I do believe Bevmo is a great place to find drinking gifts for friends, and their choices are fairly comprehensive. The beers of the world kit is my go-to for a friend's birthday. They have many other fun ideas, as well, ranging from bottle openers to fancy glasses and cups. One knock I have on this place is that the refrigerated section is quite small. Many of the beers here are going to come room temperature, and aren't ready for immediate consumption. They also don't have 40's, like Mickey's or Olde English, making this NOT a go-to when wanting to drink cheap like a bum and/or 40-hand. All in all, Bevmo is a pretty cool store. The prices are a definite turn-off, however. If anyone's been to a total wine before, they know what I'm talking about. Bevmo doesn't even begin to compare in terms of pricing and variety/selection. After all YOU ARE the customer and how a place treats you and makes you feel is what makes you become a member of that place and continue to shop there. Long story short, I've been a member of Bevmo for a short period of time. Having been referred to there by my bartending instructor, decided to pick up a few items, non-beverage, for a bartending event. I specifically asked the cashier who confirmed with the manager that if I were to buy these items and not have use for them, may I return them? And what their specific return policy was on these particular items. I was affirmed that returns are allowed on these unused items. I said okay and thank you. Did not end up using the items. As they were backups to wether I would need them or not (Shaker, cocktail muddler and strainer). Simple items right? The next day I brought original bag, receipt, items and packaging back to this store location right here. Came across a "Katie Beach" who was not wearing a name tag and I believe gave me a false name. Unprofessional. Upon returning the items, she gave me every reason as to why she was not going to accept these items. None of which matched up with any policy. Again, none of the items were used. Absolutely use free. As I was told. I felt very disrespected, lied to, and absolutely zero customer care or service. As a potential customer of this place, Bevmo, I immediately felt that customers are apparently NOT an essential part of their business model. If customer care and membership were considered honorary and important to this company, BevMo, "Katie Beach" would have been more properly informed and trained. Improper training I can understand and forgive. But to make matters worst Ms. Beach told me that she was the MANAGER ... I don't see improper training within management excusable. Summary: BevMo does not provide good customer service. Be very careful with this place upon buying. Ask very specific question, get names for reference, time/date and even possibly recorded statements before you buy!! Sounds like too much?? Well then do like I will do for now on. Skip this place!! And shop at customer satisfactory stores like Target, Home Goods, Walmart, etc. AVOID BEVMO!! If you can. Either they don't make enough revenue to properly screen and train their employees. Or they don't make enough revenue to offer better in-store policies that are beneficiary to you as a customer. read more

Lots of inventory, tons of great specials, cool recommendations by very helpful and friendly staff. Sure, lots of wine here...but also microbrews and hard stuff too. Other locations may have a larger selection of cheeses and accompaniments. But there is some, and I don't think this is to be confused as CheeseMo! or SalamiMo! anyway! read more

Great place to get your booze! This BevMo is in the mall at the corner of Laurel Canyon and Ventura... Which means it is BUSY!! There is a pretty large parking lot in the back, but it is ALWAYS packed!!! You are competing w/ a ton of other places! There is a great selection here for great prices. They have amazing sales from time to time, so it is always good to check in! They also sell snacks, wine and drink glasses, decanters, etc. It's a perfect one-stop-shop for all of your boozing needs. The staff are friendly, but not all of them know their stuff. Anyhow, I'd rather drive the extra few miles here than go to one of those dive alcohol places. read more

I just got back from my first trip to this Bevmo! since the quarantine started. I wasn't sure of the protocol, and was asked to place an order online for pickup. This created a problem because I did not yet have an online account, but needed my products quickly. Thank goodness Lauren was managing the crowd control, and was super helpful. She simply relayed my request to the helpers inside, and then told me to go inside to pay and pickup. 5 minutes, and done. Fantastic!
