They have everything you want and need. My only issue is they will sell you expired beer without a care. I went in looking for Two Hearted IPA bought a couple. Drank one and it was skunked. Went back and told the girl the beers on the shelf were was expired. She told me t he way would pull them. Stopped by for a gift bottle for a friend. I originally was going to pick up a nice box set of something but was told this location didn't have any. No big deal, I will find a nice bottle instead. This location has a great selection of everything like other BevMo locations. Ok, so why the 3 stars. I made my selection, the bottle was regularly priced a $61 but as a club number it was priced at $40. I took it up to the register and paid, not paying to much attention at the time (my fault) but the cashier was talking and super cool. Then I noticed my receipt said $64. I asked about the price and walked over to the shelf with the cashier. He then explained that the corporate office had not updated the prices so everything rings up at the regular price. Wait what? Yup, he explained that they have to manually enter the SKU number in order for the sales price to ring up. So, had I not caught this I would have walked out paying an extra $25. Not sure I like that and I couldn't help but think of how many people did just walk out. If we know there is an issue why are we not telling the customer or asking if this was the price as marked on the shelf?? Ok, so not the end of the world, but I would feel better if they were a little more upfront and not leave it up to the customer to find, although it is kinda my responsibility. I had a very nice visit at this BevMo. From the availability of the products, the helpfulness of the employees, and to the she sheer open size of the place was a huge plus for me. I picked up a couple of Spanish wines that came highly recommended by one of the floor attendants for secretaries appreciation week. They were a huge hit by the way. Regarding the attendant, I was impressed by his knowledge of the wine history, flavor profile, and pairings. These things are always good to know when planning to invest in some quality wine. The young lady at the register was awesome. She was very welcoming from the moment when I walked in and from when she rung me up at the register. I loved the size and openness of the store, not just because of size and availability of product, but because it was easy to get around and items were not crammed around each other like my neighborhood BevMo. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS! I would!!! This review is for my mother and the experience she had today at this Bevmo location. She does not have a Yelp account, but I know it's my duty as her daughter to give her a voice and shed light on the treatment she received today. She went to Bevmo near her job today to grab some wine during their holiday sale and had one of the worst experiences with the clerk working. She was at the check out and the second person in line. (& just to give some context. The clerk appeared to be Caucasian and the women ahead of her was also Caucasian.) The clerk proceeded to go above and beyond for the woman in front of her and did the exact opposite when it came to my mom. He greeted the woman with a smile, told the woman to put her basket on the belt and unloaded it for her, offered her a box for 3 bottles of wine, and even asked my mother to wait while he escorted her outside to load her order into the car. However, when it came to my mother. He did not greet her with a smile, he told her that she needed to unload her cart, didn't offer her a box for 13 bottles of wine, and followed her outside to ensure she put her cart away because he was concerned that she would let it roll and hit someone's car. This is appalling. I myself have encountered acts of discrimination and racism because of my darker skin tone, but it is a workplaces responsibility to ensure their employees treat everyone fairly and equally. She isn't sure what his name is, but this happened between 3-4pm 12/1/22. I will update this when I have a name. read more

At 2:00 I placed an online, and it was for pickup between 3 and 4 pm. I got there at 3:20, and not only was my order not pulled, but they sold the entire inventory of that product to someone else at 3:15. Normally this wouldn't have been a big deal, just an inconvenience, but this product is no more, the brewery is shutting down and they made the announcement today, and there has been a run on the product everywhere. So that's why I went online, ordered it, and drove 30 minutes out of my way to get it. The manager didn't even apologize, just dismissed my frustration, which was even more upsetting. Was having a party and decided to try BevMo, have never been there before. I can't say it is my favorite place, and rather than saving a few bucks, I like to easily find the selections I want. At least they have wines organized by country of origin. But I still couldn't find all the labels I was looking for. A caveat: I don't really like warehouse type places in general, so this isn't the first place I would try. Like little deli markets better. The one employee who makes shopping here the very best experience, is Michael. We call him Mike and are on a first name basis. Mike knows every wine and beer choice and their history. He's a true professional and his customer service is second to none. The employees at this BevMo knows their stuff. Everytime I go here I always find an employee who is knowlegable and helpful. I like the wine selection as they carry my favorite wine (Rosenblum). They often have little tasting events for a minimal charge or sometimes even free. I'm removing one star for not carrying San Simeon Pinot Noir. I was there on Friday 7/17/2021 after dinner at 6:40pm (writing that so hopefully they can figure out the two employees who were working) my friend is pregnant and was feeling left out. I went in there hoping to find a non alcoholic drink for her. The woman and man working were both SO HELPFUL!! And just nice as can be. It's not my first time in there and everytime I leave I always tell people how great they are in there. I don't know how they found such great staff but they did! Came to pick up an order from the back of store, the lady with green hair who refused to later identify herself yelled from 100 ft, "CAN I HELP YOU", then she finally came closer with two attitude, however this wasn't the first time I experienced bad customer service there, this time I just decided to post. I called in later and some with someone named Jon Martinez who identified himself as the manager, at which time shoved like he didn't care and rushed me off the phone. Decided to stop here on my way home since I needed a new bottle of wine to pop open. Plus the .05 cent wine sale is coming to an end, so wanted to see what selection was avail. Although the store is pretty big, I didn't think they had as much variety as the Oceanside or Escondido store. Moreover, I didn't feel the employees are as friendly as the other Bevmos I frequent. I say this because there were a couple of employees who were too involved in their set-ups to even acknowledge my existence or even stop to ask if I needed any assistance. In fact, not one person acknowledged me until check-out. I didn't find the wines I was looking for, but walked out with a Robert Mondavi. I will def stick to my usual wine stops. read more

I went in on probably the busiest day of the year, New Years Eve, and was able to find a person to help me with a wine question, the line wasn't overly long. Bottom Line: Wine, Beer, Booze, Set-Ups and Snacks served in a large and well organized store but customer service is hit or miss. Overall, I really like BevMo. They have a large selection of wine, beer and booze. I can't speak to the wine section, but I do like the organization of the beer and booze as it makes sense and is easy to navigate. And although I am not a huge wine drinker, I always want to stock up on wine here during the five-cents wine sale. (Buy one bottle of wine and the second is five-cents.) If you are provisioning your bar or hosting a party, BevMo is a great place to look for setups including fun cocktail napkins, disposable wine glasses, frilly toothpicks and other things you didn't think you need. They also have some good drinking snacks. I personally love the wide array of plastic "airplane bottles" of booze because they are great for stuffing inside of my adult pinatas. (You never know what is going to fall out of one my pinatas when you give it a whack but it always good stuff!) The store is large and I like the organization. Although being big, it doesn't seem too overwhelming and if you are lucky, someone will even help you although service here is hit-or-miss. Also, using an out of state ID here requires a manager's approval so I'm not surprised that another Yelper noted an issue with using his United Stated Government issued ID here. If its not a California license that they can scan, the cashier seems thrown for a loop and it holds up the line. read more

I read a few of the other reviews and either these people don't understand the deal with BevMo or they simply need to just be given a tissue for anytime a stiff breeze blows. It is a liquor warehouse. They have a massive selection and nobody is going to know where everything is at all times. Furthermore I go here probably two days a week minimum and the staff is nothing but the best. You leave a low review for a one off experience, that shows the type of consumer/yelper you are. Lackluster customer service- a fairly daft female, who will remain unnamed, works the register. Selection of craft beer is good. Their shelves are well stocked and they also have some of those beers refrigerated. Hours of operation are important to keep in mind, especially during the summer the Sunday hours seem to end very early. This store offers alcohol at fairly competitive prices. Not as cheap as the bottles at Costco, but BevMo is much closer than the nearest Costco in North County. read more

They have the most recent beers that your typical liquor or grocery store dont usually carry. The staff is friendly, realist and know there brews. Only reason why i took one star off is because they dont carry my favorite dark beer: Harpoon Super dark but otherwise i recommend this place if you like a variety of good quality brews. read more

For being a corporate chain, this place feels more like a local mom and pop shop. I think the guy that usually helps us is Mike C (I'll make sure and update review later if I'm wrong). This guy really knows his stuff and actually cares about the customer which we all know is just super rare these days. My wife and I are huge wineo's and I feel like we always walk out of bevmo with something new that we are excited to try. I hope Mike C gets some credit. If I owned Bevmo I would want someone like him at every store. He really makes the Bevmo experience stand out above the competition. Also the selection at Bevmo is amazing. I think everyone knows that though. Prices are good too. I think the 5 cent sale stuff is generally marked up, but if you divide the price by 2 and compare, most bottles are about 20% below average price for that particular bottle. This particular location is no different and it even stands above a lot of the others as they have a wonderful selection of local brews. Perks of being in SD county I suppose... A few days ago I went to Bev and more with my husband to purchase 6 bottles of Pinot for a customer of mine. Well I encounter Mr.Tommy that was so rude and not helpful at all! I say to Tommy " i'm not sure where anything is in here and i really don't drink can you help me fine some names of bottles? I've been coming here for years to pick up a couple sick packs here and there or a few bottles of wine, but I've found this place even more helpful for the customer service and ability to get unique alcohol. Over the past year I needed a bottle of sake for a party and had no idea where to begin and was thrilled with the recommendation. Most recently I randomly tried a pumpkin beer (atomic pumpkin made by new Belgium) and loved it. Problem was they get a limited quantity and ran out. However, Tommy went out of his way to try and get me more. He worked with the Chula Vista BevMo location to get a case shipped up to this store. He totally went above and beyond for customer service. I had to update my review to give them a much deserved 5th star! We purchased way too much alcohol for a party that we had over the weekend and they let us return some without any issue. We still went through over $100 of beer alone but people drank more mixed drinks than they did beer. We had over $50 left in beer and it was great that we didn't get stuck with it. It would've taken us forever to finish it (we're wine-o's). Note that the returned beer were unopened cases of beer and full 6-packs that had not been chilled yet. Given the fact that we spent $300 on liquor alone, it was much appreciated that we could get a little of that back. Despite what some may think - money doesn't grow on trees! = ) Thanks BevMo for supplying all our liquor for our holiday party and allowing us to return what wasn't touched. Bevmo has everything! Well, they don't sell Rombauer Chardonnay, but maybe they do and it sells as soon as it comes in. Otherwise, they have everything. Walking the aisles of Bevmo is like a date for us. We get nostalgic about the Viogniers, remember fun times with the Pinot Noirs, imagine new possibilities with the Pinot Grigios. Eventually we realize we have 12 bottles and we better leave (that and, oh yeah, they're closing). But we leave with a warm feeling in our hearts and anticipation of memories made possible by Bevmo. I came here with some friends and we were looking for some beers, but then got lost in a wonderland of beer tasting and mix drink lessons. there's a little animated tv inside where you can just hit whatever buttons you want and then up pops how to make the perfect drink. Also, the staff here is so friendly and they are always willing to help you out if you can't find a certain type of drink. I like BevMo store in Encinitas. It remains me of the Bottle King store from the east coast - same great selection of wines, liquors and beers. Actually BevMo got much better selection of craft beers. So if you want a six pack - stop by BevMo, also Costco got a better price (for a box of 24 bottles which you have to buy) but not a great variety of beers at Costco (still it's a good idea to buy at Costco if you need it for a happy occasion like a bridal or a baby shower). Joining the BevMo club and using the card will help your savings but not a lot. I also wish that I will be able to get a six packs of Iron Fist or Port Brewing Brews instead of only 22oz bottle currently available - but this is not up to BevMo. read more
