And I'm done with Bevmo. Was in here today, August 14, 2025. Looking at some beers. Hoping there would be a possibility I might find something fresh. Nope. Every beer I looked at had old brew dates - the freshest being January 2025. Again, we're in August of 2025. I took a picture of one Fort Point beer - March of 2024 (see my screenshot). This is not remotely acceptable. And that does it for me and Bevmo. There are lots of options out there to get good beer - you'd think Bevmo would stop selling this super old stuff - but they won't. It appears all Bevmos sell old beer. Count me out. That's the last time I ever step foot in a Bevmo. Also note - people do not need to be greeted when they walk in. For the life of me I do not understand why Bevmo thinks people like this. The person stops what they're doing a the register to yell "Welcome, hello!" to everyone who walks in. This isn't Blockbuster. It's a liquor store. Let people walk in and mind their own business without being accosted when they walk in (and walk out - "Bye, have a great day!"). And bye to you, Bevmo. (and note, the "Customer service" bot will respond with the stock response "we're sorry to hear about your service, please email us at blah blah blah..." And what happens when you email them? Literally hate going here. I only go because it's literally next to my house and sometimes I have to buy birthday/Christmas booze gifts. The staff is almost always jaw droppingly rude or condescending. It's between eye rolling, straight up rude, being called darling or sweetheart by a woman 1/2 my age. Clearly, this is a management/corporate problem. They don't ensure staff acts in an appropriate manner. Ever. read more

Can't believe I went to this store. Yes there was a minor issue, but again very minor and therefore made me really think why I was here instead of at the brand new shiny Total Wines and more a quarter mile away! With lower prices!! Anyway, as usual, a young clerk that instead of apologizing for their error, puts me through the runaround and doesn't even acknowledge my time and inconvenience. I actually had to mention it to her yet she still stood firm and refused to acknowledge my inconvenience on behalf of BevMo. Thanks a lot, Nicole... Anyway, now that we've gotten past that, make sure when you park your car that you have nothing in sight as when you get back to the car, no window no items and much frustration. This place is shady as all get out. I came here for one thing and when I went to pay my card didn't work. I had just purchased from another store. And I put my card through twice and it was declined. I think the guy who was so helpful wanted to help himself to my account. No thank you. I started to try a third time and then realized that something was up, so I left without my purchase. Don't come here! Something shady is in the mix and I'd rather get mine at another store. read more

BevMo Emeryville is my go to place to stock up on my favorite beverages and more - the staff are incredibly inviting and helpful every time I visit, the store is clean, organized, and well stocked on the best items, and the value on pricing is about as good as it gets. She tried to explain other items used to be there for that price. She calls the manager who was also rude and said "you don't see Kin on the price do you?" I explained I couldn't really read the tiny print, (I'm a senior citizen) but I can see there are 2 prices. Manager said "well that was for something else not what's in there now" Horrible customer service!!! They never admitted they should have taken those labels off when they changed the merchandise. Not my usual Bevmo but stopped by since it was convenient. The ONLY reason I'm giving them 5 stars is because they brought back my favoritest beer in the world, they did! Plus the staff is friendly and the place is really clean! They also happen to have their buy one bottle of select wine, get one $0.05 sale, so SCORE! The new customer pick up process is flawed. After spending almost 150 on alcohol and showing up to the store to pick it up, I was sent to the back door behind the store to knock on the door (call the employee inside to get my prepaid order). It's 7p and dark outside and now I am in, what amounts to the alley, picking up an order that I have already paid for. What a shit experience. If this is how BevMo intends to treat their regular customers that order online to mitigate having to walk through the store (and pick up each product individually). I think I will find another retailer to take my business to. This is not customer service - it's customer dis-service. Think about your processes and fix them. This may be convenient for the store person gathering the order but it's a skull and crossbones experience for the loyal customer that has the clarity and planning chops to order ahead. read more

Wedged into the corner of a strip mall near Ikea - I found myself here in need of a decent bottle of wine. Bevmo is always a pleasant shopping experience - its like an adults version of a kid in a candy store. So much to try and your eyes will want it all. Five cent wine sales seem to always be present - a good way to try some bottle and have another to share once you approve of it yourself. I went down the aisle and saw a familiar brand - wasn't wanting to experiment for this occasion - so I went with Sterling Vineyards Merlot. That label never has disappointed me and I find it to be a good value. I also grabbed a super budget bottle for fun that was recommended by a friend as a go to: BV Coastal Estates. We will see. Hope it doesn't yield a headache. From store to store the look of Bevmo is uniform and very good. Selection varies a bit from store to store - especially the trendy micro brews and sour beers (likely the wines as well but I'm not as familiar). Parking is so so as it is shared with lots of popular stores. Short term parking is offered in front of the door which is a nice touch - but always seems to be filled. read more

I randomly started thinking ab my experience here from a few months back -- the first time I went! I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and the woman helped me out immediately by greeting me & getting my item from the back. While waiting, Eric (store manager??) came up to talk to me ab all the promotions and how I should walk around to check out more products -- great in sales; super knowledgeable about the endless supply of alcohol haha. Eric also helped me set up a membership in about 1 minute and assisted me during checkout. Overall, I think this place deserves 5 stars because the employees really care about the company & their customer service! Also, shoutout Eric; I'll be back! read more

Been here off an on for years, never had a bad experience. Today however had an amazing on. 7 days in my shift on my 10th hour I did not have the brain power to do what I needed to, but came out with what I needed. I was greeted warmly, asked if I need help by multiple people. And when I told one I needed help with wine, they asked if I wanted help from their wine buyer Maxine. And yes I did. Maxine was my Christmas elf, knowledgeable, quick and efficient. Asked the right questions to pin point what I needed. Went the extra mile quickly searching for her top recs. Finding a partial case of what fit my criteria in the back, pulling the rest from the rack. Seriously could not be happier. Fast, efficient, and friendly when I did not have the brain power to do what I needed to. She helped me with liquor as well and opened a cash register to even check me out. I walked out on budget with everything I needed and a smile on my tired face. Thank you! read more

It has been 48 hours since I made my online order for 2 bottles of wine. I can literally see the bottles from the door! When I ordered my bottles online I was informed that the money wouldnt be withdrawn from my account until I picked up my order but im still waiting its been 2 days, my bank account says the money is gone and yet I still have no alcohol. Placed an order at 2:00pm on Saturday before Easter. Pickup slot was 5:15-6:15. After not receiving a email it was ready, I decided to go to store at 6:30. The extremely rude lady greeting was yelling "PICK UP ONLY!!" Then looks at me and barks "YOU GOT A ORDER NUMBER?" I tell her my number and then goes "NOT READY" I was like but it's just a case of beer. She turns around and walks away saying "YOU CAN CANCEL OR YOU CAN PICK UP MONDAY" Ok I get it it's a crisis and you have a lot of stuff to process but there's no need to be rude about the situation. BevMo you need to train your staff for more empathy and get your dispatch system to work more efficiently instead of misleading customers. Btw it's Monday and I still haven't received pickup email. Nice selection of wines and decent selection of sake! Most of their items were well priced. The staff were helpful in helping us find what we needed and getting the best deals. Melvin at the cashier helped us save $10 on our sake purchase. He helped us sign up for a BevoMo membership, which I was hesitant at first. I was in a hurry and didn't want to enter my email and answer a bunch of questions. To my surprise, the process was quick and only took 3 seconds. After seeing my review, BevMo reached out and the district manager called me to apologize for the experience. He explained that GoPuff had purchased BevMo and they were still integrating their systems together which led to the mixup. I'm still not sure that I think BevMo is any more reliable, but the apology was a nice gesture at least. read more

This BevMo sucks. The coolers have no single cans of cold beer. The only single cold beers they have are kombucha. A lot of the room temperature beers have labels on them that indicate there are cold beers of that same beer in the coolers but they aren't actually there. I asked an employee why it's labeled as that and he said they just forgot to remove the labels. The cashier lady also kinda has a bad attitude. The selection of beer is also not that great. This BevMo at the Powell Street Plaza in Emeryville is just 1 more I find myself at sometimes. The Holidays hadn't yet passed & I had 1 more White Elephant to attend. Know that if I'm bringing a gift to a White Elephant, that gift will be liquor. This BevMo had a good selection of liquor gift sets at reasonably low prices & I got just what I needed. Staff here was helpful & the store itself was nice, clean & well organized, but parking anywhere in the Powell Street Plaza is often a serious pain in the butt, neck & all points in between. The Parking Gods graced me with their fortune this time & I immediately found a spot not far from the store. Oh BevMo, I do love thee. Even the locations where parking can be an ordeal. read more
