When I was looking for a special bottle of wine, the manager (Marlon) was able to order an interstate transfer for me so that I didn't have to drive up to La Mesa for it. Have been to this location a handful of times even though yelp only shows one checkin. During the holiday season this place was super packed and the line long. Unfortunately the line is around the same area you are trying to comfortably look for items to purchase. In any event this place is located right of the highway and in a busy shopping center complex. The pricing is a bit higher even though they have discounts, especially if you are a BevMo member. They have partnered with. Delivery service as well. In any event, I came looking for flavored cigars but the case was quite empty and nobody manning the station as in other locations. In any event, with the long lines and no service we ended up walking out empty handed this time. Other times I've done order online and pickup in store which has gone smooth. Ahhh Bevmo--where the classy alcoholics stock up on exotic libations. It's like a museum of bottled goods everywhere you turn. I get giddy as I make my way over to all that is hiding behind locked up glass. Look at all those expensive spirits! And don't get me started on the artsy catharsis that transcends me when I catch glimpses of wine bottle labels and glass art. It's like looking at weed bongs. I don't even smoke weed but I can appreciate the various ways glass can be blown. In fact, the way a bottle at Bevmo looks is largely the reason why I shell out the big bucks. This Otay location is on the smaller side and in my experience, if you've seen one Bevmo, you've seen them all. 6/3/23: Visiting from Dallas, TX. The store was very clean, and the employees are pretty friendly. It wasn't very busy around 3pm. I walked down the aisles, and most items were reasonably priced. I provided my phone number for their membership program, and the cashier explained the benefits in a friendly manner. I didn't feel rushed, and no one was hovering. My kegerator has been empty for awhile so I didn't really know what beer keg to buy. The knowledgeable BevMo associate recommended Stone Brewing Pale Ale. I just tapped the keg, and am very pleased. Seems appropriate to write a review on BevMo as we are about to ring in the new year with libations. Tip...don't go to BevMo on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve! The line was outrageous wrapping 180 degrees around the perimeter of the store. In fairness, they did open up all 3 registers and they were trying to check people out as quick as possible. What I think is kind of bad about BevMo is that when you sign up with your phone number for your rewards card, they send you emails for $15 off $75. Well, if you check your weekly circular ads in the mail, the coupon is $10 off $50. So that's the one to use, but it seems to me they should be rewarding the person who signs up for the reward card. Their 5 cent with 2nd bottle wine purchase seems like a deal and I'm not a wine snob but these wines are not great. I did try a couple of Spanish sparkling that weren't bad at around 8 bucks each after the 5 cent 2nd bottle. Also, the grocery store prices are much more competitive. However, if you are strategic and you bring your $10 off you can score a bottle of Rombauer and a KJ for a decent deal....ok Rombauer is the only thing snobby on my wine tastes! On another note, they have all the liquors you could want and I doubt the grocery store sells Elderflower liquor. read more

I walked into the BEVMO store located in Eastlake Ca. I was Christmas shopping and excited to shop for my entire family .... I noticed the moonshine drinks were advertised with a sale tag of $2.99 with the description on each item that read correctly , except the ounces. When I called upon an associate to confirm the price was correct . The associate was shocked to see that the labels were misplaced by the ad associate . She walked away . When I walked up to the register I noticed a sign posted that read specifically that the price advertised is the price that the customer should be given . When I asked the associate "Steven" if that applied to the moonshine he did not answer my questioned and remained a bit bothered and refused to answer my question .... I explained that Rite Aid corporation stood by they're word and why did BEVMO refuse to acknowledge what they advertise on the disclaimer posted on register ? Again no answer . When I spoke to the manager Erin she was a bit bothered of my request for what was advertised ... "Erin" said at first "no I can't grant you that price" and when I further explained about Rite aid standing by what they advertised, she then said "okay, I'll allow you to get only one. I further explained that I wanted to buy more than one and she said the "rule was only one!" I asked where that rule of one was advertised and she had no answer. I further explained if technically the rule was "one" then did it mean I can get one of each flavor and she hesitated but at the end said okay I will allow you to get one of each flavor . When I went back to the isle to get one of each flavor, still not taking advantage of what I was entitled to as a customer , I got five .... When I went to the register to get rung up by Steven , Erin the manager returned and said I will only allow you to take four and explained the flavors that I would be able to take . Leaving one behind I just let it be . Technically , they did not honor what they advertised and did not follow thru with the disclaimer posted on their registers. A great company should follow thru with their errors and false advertisement! What allows the cashier "Steven" and the manager "Erin" give any misleading lies to save the company a few bucks! I am very disappointed in BevMo for this incident . I will continue to shop at Rite Aid corporation where they're price and customer service and advertised sale price is given . BevMo in Eastlake opened its doors this morning at 9am. Yes, the line was long, but well worth the wait. And yes, they were handing out free samples while we waited in line! Since we were part of the first 500 people to enter the store, we got our free "swag bag" with BevMo goodies such as a martini mix, coasters, a bottle opener, etc. Thank you BevMo! Once we got in, there were plenty of employees helping the flow of traffic inside the store. The line to pay at the cashier was not bad either. They had all lanes open, and more employees helping to manage the line. There is a coupon in the mail right now that is $10 off your purchase of $50. Make sure to bring this coupon with you. The Otay Lakes Bevmo has been in place for about four years. It is a very clean, well-lighted store specializing in adult beverages. It is extremely well located in the midst of a massive shopping complex which covers both sides of Otay Lakes Road. BevMo is on the north side. It must be quite convenient for those who live in the Eastlake area. There is a dedicated parking area along the front and side of the BevMo store, and a massive general parking area to the north of the BevMo site. Although this is a very busy center, in the many years I have been shopping here (mainly at Lowe's and Target) I have never seen this parking lot filled up, unlike say, the Fashion Valley or Mission Valley lots. This store is very well organized, as are other BevMo's. I noticed that while shopping for beer, the beers are organized and grouped by geography. Makes sense. This BevMo has very helpful staff. I wanted to buy a couple bottles of wine on their "Buy 1, get the second for $.05), but the wine was sold out. I mentioned this to an employee, and she immediately set up a step stool and pulled down a case to restock the shelf, minus two for me. My wife found the German beer she was looking for, as well as the Polish vodka. In other words, it was a very successful shopping trip for us. However it is true that just about any other store or drugstore can beat BevMo's prices for beer by the case. But it's not that kind of store, it's more of a specialty store. Glad they got one of these south of the 805. Closest ones I can think of before this store are in Liberty Station and Mission Valley. New store, still had the new store smell and everything was nice and organized. I wouldn't recommend buying extras (soda or juice) here as you can get this stuff a buck or two cheaper at Walmart or Target. The alcohol here though is vast and plenty. I went to this location on 6/14, I went to buy an old friend a bottle of whiskey as a congratulations on a new job, I walked in and was asked if I needed help finding something by the gentleman at the register, he showed me where the whiskey was located, I found the bottle I wanted so I went to locate an employee with a key to the glass cabinet, i located a girl who was helping an older woman at the tequila case, so I waited, she pulled the woman's bottle from the case and handed it to her and showed her where the gift bags were.. I asked her to open the case for me, she opens it grabs my bottle as I went to accept it, she cradles it like a football and says it'll be up front.. my mind instantly wonders why I wasn't given the same treatment as the older white Woman, why didn't she hand me my bottle with a smile, or why didn't she take the woman's bottle to the front? I was profiled as someone who would steal, was it my tattoos, was it my ethnicity? Finally a BevMo in South San Diego, I am so happy for our new addition to Chula Vista. I was able to attend the Grand Opening event and I was pretty awesome. I was able to get the goodie bags that had a few cups, drink book, martini mixer, and other goodies. They had drinks samples and coffee for all the early morning drunkies. I was even able to snap the cover picture for their yelp page. *Makes me feel so cool* Overall a pretty darn good event for 9am on a weekday. The actual store is fairly smaller than other BevMo's I've been to but Im not disappointed. They have all your favorite wines, liquors, liqueurs, and beers and if they dont have it they will get it for you. As usual they have a cigars and drinking utilities and always have something on special. I am just happy I dont have to hunt down the Delirium the beer with the pink elephant I love that stuff. When you are thirsty for something special be sure to drop by with $40 - $50 or so to buy something different for a change.
