Recently came here to pickup my marriage certificate and the whole process could not have been any simpler. Due to Covid a lot of people have been stating how hard it is to get a marriage license in LA County. I easily made an appointment in OC and was planning to get one there but decided to check online incase others had been wrong. To my surprise there was plenty of availability at the Beverly Hills Courthouse so I easily made my appointment. Upon arrival we found plenty of street parking out front but they do also have a parking lot. Once inside we needed to go through metal detectors and check in with security. Afterwords we took the elevator to the 4th floor and waited outside door 1. The whole process was so easy and streamlined and I appreciate how sweet all the staff were.

Got my marriage license here. Was in and out in literally 10 minutes - the man who helped us get the license was so kind

Beverly Hills Courthouse is on Burton Way, next to the Beverly Hills library. There is limited metered street park and a private subterranean parking not free. As legal counsel in the private sector, compared to other Los Angeles county courthouses, this facility is by far the best, in terms of cleanliness and efficacious systems. But definitely needs progress as it is understaffed. Staff are generally helpful and nicer than most municipal offices. If you're in a hurry, this place does operate in a rather slow motion. Although all members of staffing are very attentive and accommodating. As a frequent visitor here to conduct legal matters for clients, most of my experience here has been thus far very pleasant. Again, there is always room for improvement to speed up long lines and the website should be updated so that nearly every tasks can be accomplished online for efficiency, which mitigates relying on the understaffed personnel. My five star rating is for the cleanliness of this courthouse, efficiency of processes and the although understaffed helpful employees. Parking is not free underneath this structure. There might be a street parking spot available, but be cautious and read the restricted parking signs, because you will get a ticket, even if you're one second late! Because a parking ticket is difficult to contest in this courthouse.

On several visits I encountered only politeness and helpful attitudes. Parking was easy. Security made me feel welcome.

Since licenses are only valid for 3 months and you can only schedule a ceremony after you have a license, has anyone had issues getting a license and then their day three months out is not available?

Yes, we have had issues securing a date we wanted. Our appointment to pick up our marriage license was 4/22/22. That would mean we have until 7/22/22 to get married and we were hoping to get married mid June. Unfortunately, the clerk told us that we… Read more

Is there a way of knowing if we can be accommodated on the date we want to get married? Our plan was to secure our marriage license on April 14 then get married on April 19. Nobody answers when we call!

Understaffed, it's best to go and coordinate dates in person.

How many guests can fit in the courthouse wedding chapel?

We were a party of about 20 people, there were still plenty of room, the judge officiating the ceremony is the nicest and delivers most beautiful ceremony and if u asked before u go in they let everyone stand and bride walk in as other churches.… Read more

How do I speak to a person?

Due to limited staff, it's best to go to the department that covers your question to speak to a live person. The entry guards are helpful in guiding you to the right department and which floor.

Do i need an appointment to get a marriage license? And what do i need to bring to get it? Thanks

To get a license no, to get married at the "venue" I believe so.

Can I get my license certificate an dget married the same day??

If you are planning on obtaining a Marriage License at one of the Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder County Clerk locations and then getting married in the chapel on the same day, you will not be able to. Marriage ceremonies are by appointment only.

Parking on Redford Drive is free for 1 hour and there are limited metered parking spots. As many times as I've been here, this here is my first review. Most of the posted reviews are from people who were newly married and registered their coupledom commitment at this office and had pleasant experiences...because well, they just got married and are looking to live life happily ever after ...and I say Good Luck that...lol. The high divorce statistics are against you, maybe or maybe not, you'll be back in this courthouse to probably file for Divorce :( This office has nice helpful staff, but never enough pre and post COVID. This office is where you also pay for all the fines, court fees and parking related offenses and penalties. With all the parking and 'alleged' speeding tickets I've gotten, I feel I'm supporting the parking department :(( Out in the hallway of this office are a couple computers for public use to manage your case/file/violation online, and if the computer system is not down and is functioning/operational, I suggest you manage it online and PRINT a receipt for your PROOF. That saves you time, a trip to this recorder's office and shortens the long wait time here. While in line, sometimes a staffer will help and advise you and sometimes will help resolve your issue on the spot. With the ongoing COVID pandemic, most municipal courthouse and offices are closed, but I am glad this office is open even if hours are limited.

I got married last Wednesday and my officiant was funny and sweet! Chapel is classy and chic with Hollywood glam black and white wedding portraits. My husband and I are so happy with everything, this is the best place to get married!

Well, this week's TO DO is DONE :))) I received a "camera"…read moreticket early February, and "gloominated" over it for several months. I wanted to fight it, but I guess every picture tells a story, don't it??? So, after googling best times to go here, I threw all caution to the wind and drove over to Santa Monica. I parked a good half mile away to get my steps in and got into the courthouse around 10:15 AM anyway after going through a safety check I was told to walk down the hall and I could go pay it. There was nobody on line and the lovely fellow behind the counter couldn't have been kinder and easier going. Boom done! I cannot believe how Angelenos drive these days... rolling stops ( they don't) and breaking so many laws and regulations including speeding, cutting one another off, left turns from right side of the road... oh I could go on and on... However, I chose to pay and go to Traffic School so I don't get any points on my license. My tip is: don't go first thing in the morning to pay a ticket...wait until after 10a or go early afternoon. There's plenty of parking on the street. The walk will do everybody good if you park a little further away and get your steps in IMHO!!! ;))) I am glad I went for sure! And the experience was great! PS Mondays and Fridays are always more busy vs mid-week!!!

We had a wonderful conversation for 5 minutes. I walked away from our talk with a grin from ear-to-ear. This guy IS the REAL DEAL - The CONSUMMATE Professional. Michael. Let's now talk about him... There's a Customer Service gent named Michael who works the Traffic Ticket Window. I visited this Office/Window several weeks prior to my (traffic) Court Date. My experience was great. Michael was patient with me and answered all my silly questions. He provided me with pertinent feedback and made some very helpful suggestions. He was thoughtful, patient and fun to talk to. Nice work Michael! Then there was "The Judge". I wish I had her name. She was a stand-in, covering the regular Judge on Tuesday, 12/30. This lady was witty, fun, high-energy, grounded and just down-right sweet. Although she didn't have a Southern drawl, she certainly had the hospitality of a Woman of the South. I Highly Recommend NOT getting a ticket, but if you have to appear in Court.... ...I would HIGHLY Recommend the Santa Monica Courthouse :) Keep up the fantastic work, ya'll Sincerely,

There's a few vendors in the courtyard which I miss walking through the courtyard regularly when I live just up the street from here. So pretty okay restaurants in the area as well especially along Van Nuys Blvd and a few tucked away along Victory. Superior is very close to the Metro G Line (Orange) station for Van Nuys which makes avoiding paid parking either via meter or garage easier - you may even luck into residential street parking (watching those cleaning day restrictions). The garage for parking closes at 7PM and the courthouse itself closes at 4:30 pm everyday.
