I am greeted by Mr.Eddie (the owner) himself every time I go and have had nothing but friendly conversations/interactions with most if not all of the staff. Mr.Eddie runs a tight ship! The food is fresh and hot every time, and on the one occasion where it wasn't, Mr.Eddie personally brought me a fresh piece of fried chicken! 10/10 each visit and would give it more stars if i could. It is a bit on the pricy side but i would much rather support a local business and friendly face, than corporate restaurant/fast food that comes from who knows where and doesn't care about your food or experience. In the area for errands and came across Bevelle. A cafeteria style line that you go through and pick out what you want. All the staff was incredibly friendly. They said everything is made fresh daily and the food tastes that way! We got turkey and dressing with fried okra and green beans. We were a fan of the dressing and the fried okra. The fried okra wasn't heavily breaded, made them that much better. Everything else we got was pretty tasty too. It's price is about 35% higher than the meat and two place we typically go to that's closer to pur home, but I would come back here next time we are in the area again. read more

Hard to believe this was my first visit. I have heard about Bevelle's for years. They used to be in a section of a gas station, but in 2019 they moved to a store-front that allows better parking and an eat-in area. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take advantage of the dining room, but we picked up lunch for three, taking advantage of both their curbside service and a cash-only special that was offered the week leading up to Easter. Their menu changes daily, but is traditional meat-and-two fare and is currently being shared as it changes on their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/BEVELLES/ Regretfully, I was also so hungry and otherwise preoccupied to take pictures. (Sorry about that.) Our plates were meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans, meatloaf with mac-n-cheese and mashed potatoes (yes, this is the teenager's plate), and baked BBQ chicken with mac-n-cheese and green beans. We all chose the roll instead of the cornbread. Meatloaf is a pretty personal dish for Southerners, and we each have our own favorite way; Bevelle's is a pretty "traditional" meatloaf with a tomato-based sauce on top. Green beans are what I would call Italian green beans (aka Romano beans) that are wide and flat. Mashed potatoes can be with or without gravy, and they were a nice consistency. Mac-n-cheese was baked, and pretty flavorful. You can also choose between white and dark meat for their chicken; our white meat included a chicken breast and a wing. Nice BBQ sauce; sweet, not spicy at all, so like the "Kraft Original" of BBQ sauces. Nice portion, and filling enough for lunch. We ended up having a late dinner because this was so satisfying. Will look forward to returning and trying their well-known Hot Banana Pudding. Fair warning: They are open ONLY during the week, and ONLY for lunch hours. read more

I am so glad to have found this new meat and three lunch spot in Pelham. I've visited twice in the past two weeks and it's already a favorite. The food is very tasty, always hot and seasoned just right. I absolutely love the turkey and dressing. Great southern cooking. The service is quick and friendly. Couldn't believe how good the food was the first time my wife and I went here for lunch so we returned today. My wife got a vegetable plate of fried okra, new potatoes, stewed squash and corn bread. I got fried chicken , (dark meat) mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra with a yeast roll. I offered my wife a taste of the drum stick and I didn't get it back. The seasoning on the chicken is fantastic. Everything else was delicious as before but I do have two complaints, don't offer any bites to anybody and the chicken needs to be bigger. read more

Yeah they are in a gas station but you can't beat the prices and the taste as well as the service and the selection. Each day is something different and they hit the mark all the time. The food is always fresh, the selection always includes a good staple of meat and vegetables, and a banana pudding or peach cobbler are both top notch delicious. The owners are fully engaged in the operation, their great character and personalities are clearly rooted in being good stewards of God's gifts. My husband and I were on our way home from a short vacation in Pensacola. We began searching iexit.com for a place to have lunch. Most of the results were fast food chain restaurants, but one name popped up--Bevelle Family Cafe--at Exit 242 of I-65. We love to find hidden gems like this! The food was out of this world and the owner is the nicest lady! Next time we head to the coast, we will definitely make a stop here, and I'd recommend that others should do the same. If your looking for a nice sit down restraunt, this is not it. It is in a gas station. But don't let looks fool you! The food is Ah-mazing.
