Made the trip out with a couple of my no good grown kids. Looks like they just added on a new dining room area. Later on a weekend night, not busy, we were seated right away...and then I felt like the waitresses must have been fighting about who would wait on us because more than five minutes later, was just about at the point where I was thinking about hitting the road, when someone finally came up and waited on our table. Not like the waitresses weren't waiting on other people, it's just no one was waiting on us. Anyway after that, the service was pretty good except at the end where it took awhile to get the check. Food was good. I got the chicken fried steak and it was pretty good. Breading didn't crack away from the steak, the sides were good, and the gravy was really good. Salad was simple but also really good. Others got the pub steak, and I think one of the burritos. All said the food was good. We all got some bread pudding to go which was really good later on. Other than the service blip, it was all good. Another place I would return to.

There was only one woman taking orders and serving the seating area but she was FAST and constantly on the go. I felt bad for her, but she kept up without blinking...all with a very, very wide smile. There's also outside seating but it was too hot of a day for us to sit out there this visit. Nice place in a nice area.

I ordered the Popper Burger, which comes with two jalapeño poppers right inside the burger. It definitely has a little kick if you like spicy food, and the burger itself was incredibly juicy and delicious. Honestly, it was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and that's coming from someone from Los Angeles, where there are no shortage of amazing burger places. I also tried the banana cream pie shake, and wow... it was one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. It was so good that every time we went back, I ordered the exact same meal. No regrets! I also have to give a huge shoutout to the staff. There were around 20 of us from the fire crew ordering at the same time, and they got all of our food out quickly without missing a beat. Great food, excellent service, and a place I'd absolutely recommend if you're anywhere near the area.

It comes with the typical side spread of refried beans, rice, sour cream, lettuce, and Pico de Gallo. I wasn't impressed with this side plate. Lettuce seemed old. The refried beans and rice seemed canned. The chips and salsa were good (not great). I liked the fajitas stir fry. That was above average. Service was average as well. There is plenty of seating in the dining area. The dining area is clean as well. The ambiance was okay. Nothing that really stood out to have a lasting impression on me. When returning to Westcliffe, I would consider dining here. However, I would try to plan the trip where I would dine in Canon City. They have a better selection of restaurants. Overall, I had an average experience here. Nothing special. If you're visiting Westcliffe, I would check them out. Manage your expectations though.
