Perception draws reality. My perception through experience: these guys don't care about the customer. Just look at all the 1 and 2 star ratings. Be wary. Left hand doesn't talk to the right hand in this company. Poor communications; lackluster professionalism. Did not do what promised; called on Friday, 245p for quote (because they didn't do what they said they'd do by calling me). All had left for the day. "Open M-F 730-4". Right. Not this Friday. Further, when techs showed up for inspection, my cleaning lady let them in. I called and told them I was 10 minutes out; upon my arrival (they saw me pull up!), they practically hid from me like 10 year olds and ducked out from around the corner. No convo. Totally incompetent and unresponsive. We needed a leak repaired and they had us pay a handyman $1900 to remove the tub for repair and then replace it. During the repair my husband asked them to replace not only the jets but all the possible leaking parts. The tech dismissed this saying "you might as well replace the tub." This would have been a better option as it turned out because he only replaced the jets and it leaked again. When we called them back he told us to replace the tub. Can I post no stars? Can I call consumer protection? Trusted this company- only to find out they are either incompetent or total scam artists that the public needs to be protected from. Earlier this month I called Betz Enterprises to repair a leak in my hot tub. Having used them before an appointment was set to service the tub without anyone home at the time. I assumed this was a courtesy to previous customers and scheduled the appointment. Someone - and I'll explain the someone comment in a moment - someone can out to look at the tub and left the invoice attached to this review. The invoice, for $140 - states 'tub will need to be tipped up on one side, bottom cut out'.... to be repaired. After reading this - it did not seem to make sense. Why would a manufacturer make a tub that required such major action to fix. Not being a tub expert - I decided to look myself- and removed the 2 side panels to the tub ... an action clearly stated on the invoice that was performed by ... someone- an employee of Betz Enterprises. What I found was so obvious it easily contradicted the invoice. A very obvious pipe had cracked and you could easily see the repair needed. So - confused I called the company and left a message for an explanation. I mean ....either they really didn't evaluate the tub as they said - or .... fill in my the blank here - Either way they were recommending a very costly repair!!! This morning I received a call from Mr. Betz - I explained my confusion about what I found. I was amazed. Rather than say sorry - say I'll check it out - say we'll be out to fix it immediately- he was upset about my reference to Dan .... himself the owner - rather than Dave who apparently wrote the ticket. Over a minute or so I explained Dave or Dan .... someone came out and wrote the 'questionable' ticket - and I really didn't care who it was ... the company name is Betz Enterprises and he should be accountable. Do you know what he said - the owner of this company - with his name at stake .... Quote- ' I don't have time for this now - find someone else ..... goodbye' Believe me it's not about the money - it's not any animus to anyone in particular- it's just if a company operates this way you look to the leadership- in this case the owner ..... and for his response to this situation- I advise all consumers to be wary of utilizing their services. I read all the bad reviews but since Jacuzzi showed them as the only support near me I called them and set up an appointment. I was told they will charge 140 to come out. They came out and saw my tub and tell me they don't break tiles to get access to the motor/controller. When I offered to break the tiles right there I was told the guy had another appointment. But they have no problem charging me $140 to tell me they don't break tiles anyways. Called the owner but got no where. Read the reviews and stay away from them if you can. read more

Do not use these guys. They came out to look at our whirlpool bathtub, said they'd be back with a couple of guys to get to the pump and fix it. There for all of 10 minutes. Called them a few days later when I hadn't heard anything from them, and then they told me i have to make it accessible for them to do repairs, which was not stated when they were here nor when they came to look at it. Now i get a bill for 155 dollars with a late fee tacked on, no original submitted back when i had them come initally, twlling me to pay them for nothing at all. read more

Our hot tub has a leak, and we are fortunate to have a home warranty that covers it. The warranty company, Cinch assigned Betz Enterprises. This was a few weeks ago. I had to call Cinch today to request a new technician as all they keep saying is "it will be next week til we can schedule"-- so I keep getting pushed back. I understand it's the time of COVID, but this is a totally outdoor job, which I clarified with them weeks ago. I contacted Betz Enterprise to give me a quote on what it would cost to repair my hot tub. When the Technician(Yohan) arrived he glanced at my hot tub and said all you need is to have a dedicated line ran and you won't even need me. I assured him this was not the case due to the type of hot tub that I purchased. He insisted that he has been doing this a long time and told me to have a good day and drove away. So listening to his expertise I had a dedicated line ran to my hot tub. It cost me $400.00 to have this done and it still did NOT fix my problem. I have been in contact with the company for 2 weeks now trying to have the owner contact me so they can help resolve this issue and I have yet to hear from him. I just installed a brand new Kohler fiberglass tub. While working on the enclosure, I dropped a hammer on the corner of the tub and took a 1 1/2" chip out of it. I called the distributor and they recommended Betz. i called and had an appointment scheduled very quickly. Otto came out and repaired the damage perfectly! Saved me over $700 and tearing out the newly installed tub. Otto and the receptionist were very professionally and cordial. Great work from good people. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Avoid this company at all costs. We have a unworking hot tub that does not heat making it unusable. Betz came out several times and claimed to have completed the work. We still have an unusable hot tub. The water STILL has ice cold water. We understand a fee to come out but we are being charged over $500 for the hot tub that was never fixed. I might as well have just thrown $500 in a toilet and flushed it. We made several attempts to contact them to work it out and they ignored our calls. Once we wrote a letter, we got a response saying we still owe the money with no effort to discuss and negotiate considering they did not fix the problem. I read another review where they found out they were overcharged for parts. Gee, I wonder if that is why my bill is so high! Guess what....your parts don't work! We hired Betz to repair a 3" hairline crack in our acrylic soaking tub. Paid him $452, after which the tub was not used for two years while we were living out of town. Now we're selling the house and when the Home Inspector checked the tub, the repaired area was leaking. I called Betz, asking him to check it out, and he replied that their warranty period is only ONE YEAR. He then emailed again to say he had no record of the transaction - obviously not great at record keeping either - so I sent him a copy of my receipt. Haven't heard a word. A lazy tech by the name of Johan Lise came to my house and instantly said you have to remove the tub because I can't see the leak. Didn't use a camera to look under the tub. Just watched as the tub filled up and as soon a it gets above the jets it starts to leak. Sure it is not an easy fix because we can't see any water leaking from the outside of the jets. A little effort would be nice but instead I get attitude and lip. I would say to hire a different company that wants to solve problems and don't waste your time with Betz Enterprises. This is my 1st review on Yelp of a business, but it seems that Yelp doesn't always link reviews to each business. If so, what a waste of my time, and I won't be using Yelp in the future. Here again is my review of Betz where I had a terrible result. I hope this one stays connected to the business so other users can actually get this info: "Terrible as far as repairing bubbles, dimples, or leaks in your hot tub's interior plastic shell. They redid the same repair to my hot tub's dimples/bubbles THREE times, in 2008, 2007, and 2006, and to this day in 2012, I still get leaking "ooze" from their defective repair spots. Also, their repair spots discolored the hot tub and made dark, ugly spots where the repairs are. Horrible. On the last repair, they used superglue (egad) to try to fill the pinhole leaks and told me to put Vitamin C in the water. What a joke. Apparently, this is the only company in DC area who does these repairs and they don't even offer a decent warranty on their repairs. Bad company. Best to pick a brand of hot tub with a LONG warranty on the interior shell. They ruined my hot tub. Do not let them try to fix yours. Ask manufacturer to replace the whole hot tub instead!" read more

I am a licensed contractor in the state of Maryland and we remodel/build bathrooms. Sometimes we will have a small accident where someone drops something in the new tub or shower pan where we are working and it either chips the surface or creates a dent. I have had this situation about 5 times in the past and each time I call Dan Betz. These guys bailed me out every time. I have received professional, prompt, affordable service each time. On my last job he fixed our shower pan hiccup for $240. It would have cost me a least $1,000 to rip everything out and start over. We experienced a couple minor dings on the bottom of our tub and shower and were told by our tub and shower supplier that Betz Enterprises was authorized to repair most makes of tubs and showers. We left a voice message requesting service, and much later got a callback saying they would have a repairman in our area on a certain date. On that basis we scheduled service. On day of service the technician arrived and repaired small holes on bottom of our tub and shower, taking about 30 minutes in total. When we asked for the invoice, he said Mr. Betz would have to determine that, since his truck was having issues, and he had to cancel his other work in our area on that day. When the bill arrived for $520, my wife called to inquire why so high, and was told that since the tech had to cancel his other work here, we had to basically pay both for our repairs as well as for the tech's full days wages. An exchange of letters finally garnered what Betz charges for small repairs such as ours (a lot), but basically did not address the business practice of having his clients foot the bill for any lost wages from his tech's vehicle breakdowns. The repair work wasn't perfect, but much better than hiring a handyman or trying to make the repairs myself. The business practices of not stating one's customary charges upfront, and sticking the client with lost wages due to vehicle breakdowns leave much to be desired. Buyer beware. read more
