This place is great, if you're into the outdoors as far as hunting and fishing, this is your jam…read more They've got it all, tons of apparel, footwear, guns & ammo, anything archery, any kind of fishing gear and tackle, even got fishing kyaks up in here, they've got camping gear, outdoor cooking gear, BBQ smokers and supplies, just a great store for the outdoorsman. Staff was very helpful, today was the first day they were open, so everywhere I went someone was asking if they could help me with anything. The guy at the front door gave me a 10 minute tutorial on the store and the big animal display at the front entrance. I learned that all the animals have names, but I have no clue what they were, I think the bear was named Bubba. The new Field & Stream store is beside Home Depot in the spot where Sports Authority used to be on Bridford Pkwy.

From the outside it's a beautiful store and very large . When we walked in there was plenty to see and we perused the aisles . I made my way to the guns counter which is what I wanted to see . Service ? Hah ok . No one said a word . No " can I help you ? How are you folks doing ? Nothing . I said to myself they're probably distracted or whatnot but no . More less chumming it up with one another . As far as the selection goes I saw what I originally had seen on line and at a decent price . If I was to order elsewhere I'd have to deal with shipping etc so the cost wasn't the best but it evened out . We stood there for a few and watched this fellow walk right on by and nope not a word . By then the wide am was fed up and loudly said Hi how are you ? And the. He spoke up . By then we were done so no you cannot help me and I will take my business elsewhere.

I took my compound bow in for a peep sight issue ending up getting the string replaced, single pin sight and retuned, let's say the deer are if for some problems this year!

Anyone who has visited several gun shops knows that they are often anything but friendly. As a new…read moreshooter, I have often felt very unwelcome in gun stores. My first visit to an archery store in Georgia was much the same. So I went to Drop Tine Archery with some trepidation. (I am such a newbie to archery that I don't even know what "drop tine" means!) But my friend has really been encouraging me to get into archery, so I thought I would give it a try. I walked in to find a very clean and well-organized story. Lots of compound bows and cross bows, as well as accessories, and a very nice archery range in the back. We looked around for a while then a young man asked us if he could help. I saw only 3 recurve bows and told him I was interested in recurve. I said I guess you don't sell many recurves, and he said actually they don't have many in stock because they sell so many. He immediately went and grabbed catalogs for two companies and laid them out on the counter. I told him I was left handed and he said that two of the three in stock were left handed. One was used and being held on consignment and he said happily, let me string it up so you can shoot it. He did that and then took us to the range in the back, showed me how to shoot it, and let me have a try. As I was shooting he was giving me a free lesson, correcting my mistakes and encouraging me along. He also did the same for my wife. I told him I would for sure take the bow, and as we were walking back to the front he pointed out some other accessories I might need. Very low pressure. I picked out a couple of other things (I didn't need arrows) and ended up spending a couple hundred dollars, quite happily. I noted that the used bow I bought was on consignment from one of their other customers, and was supposed to be cash only. But they let me charge it and had to collect tax on it, so someone ate the tax on that, which I thought was generous. In the end, I have to say that this was one of my best experiences ever in a gun/archery store. I'm going to buy bows and arrows for my wife and son, too, now and even though it is easy to shop on-line, I will definitely pay a little more and have them order for me. I am happy to pay a bit more for the advice, lessons, and great customer service I got at Drop Tine Archery.
