Better U has changed my life! I may sound like a tree hugging hippie (---which I am!!), but I feel like psychedelics used therapeutically is the future of mental health. For those of us with PTSD especially, but also depression or anxiety, and have hit a plateau or block through conventional talk therapy and anti-depressant/anxiety medications. This was me and starting their ketamine program has really changed the game.
My PTSD is a pretty rough one, night terrors my entire life which were eradicated thru talk therapy and medicine. A series of events, re-triggered trauma and the nightmares resurfaced. Meditation, yoga, following my usual self-care including therapy was not helping fully. It was a band-aid but the night terrors wouldn't stop among many other symptoms of the PTSD. Working through treatments now, NO MORE NIGHT TERRORS! But also a myriad of positive effects have occurred assisting not just my PTSD, but my depression. My professional and personal life has sky rocketed the past few months and I completely owe that to the ketamine treatments allowing my brain to explore new paths. I could preach all day about the benefits of psychadelics in therapy, but let me give you info now specific to Better U.
The Better U Program is so well organized, thought out, tested and laid out in every possible aspect. They've thought of everything. You meet with a therapist & psych to begin for evaluations then if a candidate, your package comes about a week later. They've thought of everything down to the most perfectly designed eye mask for the sessions. Each session is clearly mapped with work to do prior & post, plus you can request their actual therapists for a talk session as needed. It's so well laid out in a 6-8 week program that if you follow what they've put together, you are really setting yourself up for success. Even their attention to what a huge role musical therapy plays into the experience was impressive. I don't want to ruin all the spoils for your journey, but AMA! As an organized person, I've been so pleased with the thoughtfulness of the program.
It's not cheap but when you consider the long term effects of improved mental health, the cost seems so minimal for a lifetime of happy. :) I've also tried a couple other similar programs over the years, and Better U is by far the best. read more
