Bill hired a sub-contractor (without consulting me first) to install a luxury vinyl flooring. The floor had many gaps and not leveled properly. Both are like two bulls in a china shop, lie and not willing to take responsibility. Instead of replacing the planks where there were issues (I had extra planks) I had to buy putty, It eventually cracked and gaps re-opened. Bill applied putty again, and pinned some areas preventing the gaps to re-open. Looks sloppy and I'm extremely dissatisfied. Bill is constantly on the phone, disappears while he is supposed to oversee the work, and talks politics and is pre-occupied by his personal problems.

There were three counter people, dark haired woman about 40 yrs old, grey haired woman 60+ and a young man about 30yrs old. Each one of them essentially told me to go away. They could not give me the name or phone number or e mail of a person to speak to. ( Of course i have full construction plans in pdf). That afternoon i went to the RBS web site and sent a message to "estimating" asking where i could send my plans for a quote. Two days later and no response. I only build one house every two years or so and I'm sure my 500-600 thousand order is small potatoes to RSB but you would think they would make an effort. The counter people sit in a beautiful showroom and can sell you a shovel or wheelbarrow but they are otherwise incompetent. They really could not be bothered. My assistant who was with me was appalled. But you know what, I would bet that the Goodale owners would not be happy to know how things work below them. No sense going back.

Got quote of $4800 for standard grade vinyl plank installed based on 225 sq ft. When I questioned the sq ft they said the laser and computer was right. My kitchen floor is only 160sq ft. Didn't accept the quote and the deposit was put against the countertop. Counter top cut installed to my satisfaction. Got another quote from another company. Their quote was $1800 for commercial grade vinyl plank installed with a lifetime warranty based on the actual footage of 165 sq ft. Went back today to question again the inflated quote for the flooring. I spoke to the owner and his answer to me "it was my problem because I got my money back and to get out of his store." At that point he escorted me out of the store. You determine what is going on here. The only reason for the one star is Agnes and the countertop crew on an excellent job. Will not recommend Peconic for anything. All trust is gone. Joe V
