But unfortunately I never got the estimate this owner claims. I did actually call and I was told "we're working on it and will have the estimate to you within the next week" - this was 2 weeks after the estimate was supposed to be emailed to me. Fortunately I did find wonderful contractors who did actually come to my house twice, once for the initial consultation and once more to double check the ascetics before finalizing the estimate- this other company I ended up hiring and was very happy. The job was $47,000 and this other company did a beautiful job.

We hired them to open up the first floor of our Cape Cod, and they completely helped me re-imagine the space taking down several walls to create a true open-concept layout. Along the way they installed new hardwood floors across the entire first floor, redid our shower, replaced both toilets, moved our washer and dryer, and prepped all the groundwork for our kitchen renovation. The craftsmanship throughout was outstanding. The part that really earned our trust is they delivered on what they promised AND THEN SOME! Both are like two bulls in a china shop, lie and not willing to take responsibility. Instead of replacing the planks where there were issues (I had extra planks) I had to buy putty, It eventually cracked and gaps re-opened. Bill applied putty again, and pinned some areas preventing the gaps to re-open. Looks sloppy and I'm extremely dissatisfied. Bill is constantly on the phone, disappears while he is supposed to oversee the work, and talks politics and is pre-occupied by his personal problems.
