We love Betsy Ross! I know the location isn't really new anymore but it's so nice. We never sat outside last year so I'm looking forward to doing that soon. I love all of the breakfast items of course but they have other great things. My boyfriend loves the chicken cheesesteak. I love the salads and wraps. This was ordered through a third party with no issues. The menu featured traditional diner options ranging from breakfast choices all day to burgers to steak dinners. I went with the spicy Philly cheesesteak ($13.95). I also opted for a side of waffle fries, which was an added charge. The cheesesteak came with grilled jalapeno peppers, onions, mushrooms, and fresh mozzarella cheese. This was okay. The cheese was not really melted all the way and the steak could have used a little more seasoning. The jalapeno peppers were a nice touch, and the bread was soft. The waffle fries were decent as fries do not travel the best so that was understandable. I also tried the char-grilled chicken cordon bleu. It was a little dry, so honey mustard was needed, but the chicken was seasoned and cooked nicely. Will I go back? Diner rules apply, so yes. read more

I gave two stars because I ate here again and should have known better. The place is very clean which is the reason for returning at all. On my last visit I asked "are your burgers hand made of frozen patties?" Oh! They're hand made... "I'll have a bacon cheeseburger med well, crispy on the bacon". Guess what? I got an order of frozen french toast that had a meat fat, back end. Meaning after the chew and swallow it tasted like a horrible meat fat flavor. This place has absolutely no idea how to cook. The waffles are pretty good, but you have to try really hard to ruin waffles. Very nice new building but the food is lackluster, especially breakfast. I've had breakfast lunch and dinner here since the opening and gotta say I'm pretty disappointed. Really wanted it to be a good place to add to the list especially after waiting 2.5 years to be built. Although the staff and service is good, they need to step up their food game. Breakfast was pretty bad. Pancakes dry and tasteless. Home fries no seasoning and blah. Just some paprika. Cheap flavorless bacon. Eggs were too undercooked and runny/slimy. Lunch is was a steak sandwich. Not terrible but not great. Bread was just ok and the steak wasn't bad. Mashed potatoes were half box half real. Fake tasting lemonade made for a disappointing Arnold Palmer. Plastic cups are a sign of a cheap restaurant too. Dinner was actually pretty good though. I had the shredded chicken tacos. Definitely worth it that visit. All in all like I said it's disappointing to have a bad breakfast at an NJ diner.
