We were told they would get to us, but it would be a couple of hours as there were a few jobs already ahead of us. They arrived in what we considered a very timely fashion, especially on a Saturday afternoon. They listened to what I explained as the issue, observed the clean out, and knew exactly what to do. They ran the auger approximately 100 feet and you could hear it breaking through the tree roots. Upon retracting the auger, the roots were very evident on the cable and the claw. The service guy was very friendly and explained what he was doing through the whole process. He was extremely willing to answer all my questions. We were expecting to pay $500-$600 for this kind of service on a weekend. I was very pleasantly surprised when he said it was $305. I would definitely recommend Schoonover Sewer Services and I would definitely use their services again if needed!

The roofers got the whole thing done in a day, and Dillon came by afterwards to make sure everything was done to their high standards. He even went around extra times to make sure nails weren't left behind, since we have young kids playing in the yard. Additionally, we are getting solar panels on the roof, and Crown has worked with our solar company to make sure everything was ready for that installation, too. While we were looking at other businesses, we greatly appreciated Colton's knowledge. We also wanted to support a local business, and we were impressed that they did their own work rather than hire contractors. In the end, we decided to go with Crown Exteriors. We asked about the timeline, and we were told that once they measured and placed the window order, we would have windows by mid-May at the latest. We received a text letting us know that the windows showed up May 2nd, and Colton told us that they'd schedule us after their carpenter caught up on a few things. After that, any communication was initiated by me. I reached out on 5/22/24, 1/19/24, and 8/5/24. Colton responded each time, but it was unnerving to have to reach out so often because we weren't given any updates. Finally, at the end of August 2024, I received a call from Colton asking if we wanted the windows installed the next day (8/29). Because we'd waited so long, we agreed. The next day, contractors showed up, which upset us because we had hoped to have someone on staff do the installation. The install went as smoothly as it could go, and it took about three days. However, two days after the windows were installed we noticed some issues. First, they installed our doors the wrong way, flipping the handle from the right to the left side of the door. Thats minor, but we were confused as to why they'd make the change. Next, the sliding glass doors accumulated water at the bottom. Outside water accumulation makes sense, but there shouldn't have been water on the inside. Lastly, a couple windows wouldn't open, and we couldn't figure out why. We contacted Colton, and he said he'd need to circle back to the contractors to look at it. This response was given on September 9th. Since then, we've called Colton (who let us know he didn't work there anymore and gave us the owner's contact information), the owner, and the business number on the website. We've left messages as well. We have yet to be contacted. The install was approximately $20,000, and we are not a super well-off family, so we really counted on this to be done well. And yet, we've been ignored and left with broken windows. I didn't want to leave this review because I'd hoped to work it out with them, but I'm hoping that they might be more willing to talk to us with this review posted.

I chose Kong Crete based on their strong Google reviews and Jonas was friendly and knowledgeable during our initial phone call. The base quote came in at $1,967 for the resurfacing with a standard broom finish. I added a brown water-based dye for an extra $250 to help the concrete blend with the neighborhood rather than look like fresh gray construction, bringing the total to $2,217. The contract required a $750 deposit to get on the calendar, with the remainder split across payments before, during, and the day after the work. Worth noting -- credit card payments carry a 3.4% fee and the contract includes no warranty of any kind. What went well: The driveway does look noticeably better overall. The resurfacing gave it a cleaner, more uniform appearance and the broom finish looks good. Jonas was responsive during the quoting and contract phase, and the work itself was completed on schedule in about a day and a half. He also offered some unsolicited but helpful advice about maintaining my rear patio, which I appreciated. To his credit, when I asked him upfront whether resurfacing was a smart investment or if I should save for a full repour, he was straightforward in recommending the resurfacing -- I appreciated that honesty during the sales process. Where expectations weren't met: My main frustration is that several pre-existing defects I was hoping the resurfacing would address are still visible -- small chips, a persistent crack on the landing, and an untouched garage threshold that I thought was included in the scope. The leveled walkway panel has a noticeably uneven surface texture. There's also a significant color mismatch between the landing and the driveway/walkway, which was surprising since both were resurfaced at the same time. Jonas had warned me the resurfacing wouldn't perfectly match the surrounding sidewalk, which I understood, but I didn't expect the resurfaced surfaces themselves to look so different from each other -- especially after paying extra for the coloring. When I raised these concerns, Jonas explained why each issue was either expected or outside the agreed scope rather than offering to address any of them. I'll take some responsibility -- I should have been more explicit upfront about the garage threshold and the landing crack. But as a homeowner paying over $2,200, I was hoping a professional would proactively address visible eyesores that were clearly within arm's reach of the work being done. Communication: There was about a month between paying my deposit and the work being scheduled, which I understood due to personal circumstances. A quick status update during that time would have been appreciated though. After the work was done and I expressed my concerns, the focus shifted quickly to collecting the final payment -- I received multiple invoice reminders within hours on a Saturday while I was at work. It left me feeling like getting paid was the priority, not customer satisfaction. Bottom line for future customers: If your concrete is in rough shape, this resurfacing will be a solid improvement and you'll probably be thrilled with the result. But if your driveway is in relatively good condition and you're hoping to take it from a B to an A, set your expectations carefully. Have a very detailed conversation upfront about exactly what will and won't be addressed -- don't assume anything will be taken care of proactively. There is no warranty included, so what you see is what you get. The work is decent, but I wouldn't describe the experience as one where the contractor went above and beyond to make sure I was happy.

I had to repeatedly ask about his availability and potential completion dates. He would not respond to simple text messages for hours, sometimes more than a day. Or he would vaguebook by saying he'd be done by the end of the week. If you want high-quality workmanship at a good price in a reasonable time, keep looking.
