I have a long haired Jack Russell Terrier puppy who desperately needed grooming and Beth did an awesome job using her experience and knowledge to give him just the cut I was looking for. She was also so patient with him since he spent a good bit of time wiggling :-) I've known Beth as a groomer and a performance dog trainer and handler for over 30 years. There isn't a more skilled, conscientious and professional groomer in the Triangle. If you're looking for someone you can trust with your dog, you can't do better than Beth. So contacted Beth's for a quote for a cut for my 8 lbs dog and a nail grind for my senior dog. The process of getting an apt and sending shot records was a little abrupt. But I moved forward to the apt. Day of the apt I forgot the shot records in my card. The lady checking is in was definitely annoyed. They took my small dog and put her in the kennel after a brief conversation about her cut. They didn't have sample lengths to make sure we were on the same page. It was just an eyeball. They then took my senior dog to a platform to do his nails. He settles down if i leave so I stepped out for a few minutes while they ground his nails. I returned to my dog in a muzzle and them applying quick clot to one of his nails. First let me say Charlie has never required a muzzle and never bled with grinding. They tried to blame the muzzle and supposed "snapping" on a new location for him, but we travel for work. He has been groomed in dozens of groomers over the past 8 years. There was no excuse for the bleeding with grinding. That's one of the reasons I grind. Charlie then started to attempt to remove the muzzle and became very upset. She stepped away from the platform multiple times and it didn't look like a breakaway holder on the platform. Due to everything I decided not to have my other dog groomed there. They still charged me $20 for the nail grinding. Charlie is a laid back dog, use to different experiences and situations. I wouldn't let Beth's near any dog at this point. In response to your comments. My old man doesn't have behavioral issues. He has had his nail ground down every month and since we travel for work it's always a different groomer. Not one issue. I set out cause he doesn't get fidgety during the grind. His medical problem is a bad knee. I told you so you didn't injure it in your grinding. And as for "add ones" I asked to have Angels nails painted. Never had anyone request that I ask for that ahead of time. We've painted here nails at probably 10 different shops. My dogs are well behaved, well socialized, and laid back. That has always been their MO. At all the different groomers, vets, and sitters. So I can only assume it's you. Adding my name online, which I clearly didn't want online shows how vindictive and unprofessional you are. Please do not take your pets here. read more

There is nothing she omits and brings things to your attention immediately concerning your dog's health or well-being. My Springer always looks beautiful after each visit. Really disappointed by my dog's cut today. He is a large, energetic puppy and this comes with challenges including behavior. I understand the need to use tactics like muzzles and some restraint, but if this is done then I expect the cut to be worth the effort. I also expect to be informed of muzzle use before it is initiated. This was not the case. Technician called my husband to ask if it was ok to shave close in some areas to get rid of fur matting--we brush him weekly, so I personally doubt the matts were bad enough to warrant this decision. No mention of any behavior issues over the phone. I pick up my pup and while the overall length of fur is ok, there are visible errors in beard and eyebrow shaping. Nails were left jagged and had no evidence of being filed after being cut. I had to file them myself at home. More concerning is the fact that his private parts have been shaved bald and have razor burn, and his tail has a chunk of fur missing as well as irritated and nicked skin. I was also informed, only at pickup, that a muzzle was used on my dog who has no history of aggression towards people, other dogs, or the vet (even while procedures are being done). Large puppies are difficult. I get it. What I don't get is why a technician could ethically proceed in cutting a dog who is clearly not willing to participate and then charge $130 for a cut that anyone can see is not done properly. Would rather they had completely stopped and called me to pick up. TLDR; if you have a dog with an easy cut and no "behavioral issues", it's fine. Otherwise steer clear. read more

Short story: these folks are a bit hard to deal with and I would not recommend. Long story: appointment drop off is an exact time, no window. When I came to pick up, discovered that pick up time is also inflexible. We had a minor emergency that required me to pick up rather than my partner, so I was later than their set pickup time by about an hour. They did call to tell my partner we wouldn't be able to get the dog, but I was already there, so I went on in. I apologized for being late, but they would not allow me to get my dog. I had to wait and watch while they finished the dogs on the table. Not sure why they couldn't take 30 seconds and allow me to pay and get my dog instead of holding him hostage. I waited 30 minutes. They did not speak to me during this time or apologize for making me wait, even though I apologized for being late. Not nice. There were two groomers working, and one then the other finished the dogs they were working on, and carefully put away their towels and vacuumed the floors while I continued to wait. I'm surprised they didn't make me watch them eat their lunch as well. :-P They do a fine job grooming, but the customer service is poor, in my opinion. Oh, did I mention they are about $15 more expensive than most places we go? Ironically, they have a sign reading "To Err is Human, To Forgive Canine." Sorry for the long review, but I had 30 minutes to kill. Making all my future appointments way in advance, elsewhere, to avoid any more hostage situations. read more

The business was convenient location wise (their hours aren't but we made it work) and we wanted to support a local family business. We even made sure to continue to support the business during COVID closures. In March, Beth asked us to get our dog medicine for when he's groomed because he was snapping a lot. We went ahead and asked the vet to prescribe him some meds. We then made an appointment to get him groomed, but had to cancel last minute because of a family emergency. They have a two strike policy. This was our first time cancelling. When we tried to reschedule, we were told that they could no longer take dogs that were sedated because of insurance. However, I recently spoke to a neighbor who had JUST taken her poodle to Beth's... sedated. I'm extremely disappointed in the way we were treated after being loyal customers for over a year. I wish I had read reviews on here earlier. This business does not prioritize their customer satisfaction. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

Nori had an awesome first visit to the groomer today. After accidentally missing my first appointment yesterday, Beth went above and beyond to accommodate us today. I had sent her an email with requests for how I wanted her groomed as she is a doodle and she nailed it. I was a nervous new puppy mom and Beth made me totally feel at ease. This is the second time I have taken my Labradoodle to Beth's Barks N Bubbles and both times the quality does not reflect the price. The customer service is extremely poor. I definitely suggest that if you decide to take your dog here that you request a break down of what your payment will be at pick up. Since their pricing varies, my experience has been that they add on charges that don't fit the bill (unrequested scissor cutting, early pick up time etc.). If they state that your dog may be done early, you need to make sure that you are not being charged extra for that. Even if you do not specify that you want an early pick up, if you pick up before the designated time (12pm or 1pm), even if it is suggested by them, you will be charged for an Express Cut. This extra price, which varies by groomer and whim, ranges from $10-$20+. When I expressed my concern with these issues, I was immediately told to speak with the owner (who was not there) and that I should not get "bent out of shape." Not sure what line business thinks that is acceptable customer service and business practice, but I certainly find this beyond unacceptable! In the end, I spent $85 on a groom with unjustified add-ons, and received horrendous customer service. For this reason, I will not be returning to Beth's Barks N Bubbles and will never recommend this business. read more

My dog crawled in looking like a hot mess, and emerged a handsome, sweet-smelling stud (complete with an adorable sports' themed bandana). For $75 (tip included), I got the following services: - nails trimmed + filed - hair trimmed (ears, thick coat, tail feathers, and beneath his paws) - glands expressed (don't ask me, research yourself) - bath - blow dry and combing out - 4 hours of pet-free, shopping time for me (woo hoo!) I'm super pleased with the time and attention given to my little pup. When you ask for what services you want, Beth's team asks detailed questions about how and where you want your dog groomed--it was quite refreshing! They tamed his overly poofy behind and trimmed his wild mane (long, crimped strands of hair flared out from both of his large ears--it was embarrassing). Please keep in mind: prices are dependent on hair length/thickness, pet size, and animal disposition. Plus, after you retrieve your beautimous pet, you get a FREE dog biscuit coupon for the neighboring pet bakery (Oliver's Collar) in the same shopping center. With stupendous service and friendly staff, it's no surprise that Beth's Barks N Bubbles has won "Best Place to Get Your Pet Groomed in the Triangle" two years in a row. UPDATE: To any who may have read Beth's response to my review, many of the things she wrote are simply not true. I try to keep my reviews as authentic as possible and would not lie about my experiences. REVIEW: Though this was only my second experience with a professional groomer, I can easily say that my previous experience was markedly better than the one I had at Beth's. The pro here was the flexible options for appointments - they open Saturdays and were able to squeeze my little guy in the weekend before Thanksgiving. This was the primary reason I chose to go to Beth's. However, that was about the only pro I am able to find. Although I did not have a positive experience here, I was able to see a few owners retrieve their pets and a number of them did look pretty cute on the way out. My reason for the lower rating: I found the groomers here to be judgmental and somewhat rude. Context: my dog was pretty darn scruffy when I brought him in, and yes he was matted. However, I brought my dog in to a previous groomer in this exact condition, if not worse, and he came out great, the littlest fluff ball ever! I showed the groomer a picture and she immediately dismissed it, stating that they probably wouldn't be able to achieve it because he was too matted. I did sign a waiver due to the mats in case they nicked or cut my dog in the grooming process. My dog did come out with approx 4 cuts/nicks which they showed me. When the groomer evaluated my dog before we dropped him off, she kept asking if he was unhealthy or had any issues with his eyes, even though I had just stated he was 100% healthy per the vet. She gave off that vibe that makes you feel like you're a bad pet owner. When I came to retrieve my pet, they were behind and were not done with my dog. For this reason my BF and I were able to see them finishing up the grooming on my dog. The groomer was very rough with him and referred to him as "little dog" instead of his name. My dog was visibly upset and whimpering and was not himself for a few days after this grooming experience. The cut was entirely not what I wanted, and they did end up shaving him (cutting everything) "due to the mats". As the groomers returned him to us, they gave us a talk about how to groom him and care for him at home. I don't mind education about dog care at all, but they did so in a very condescending tone. The word "homework" was even thrown in there, as if I'm a child. I was nearly in tears leaving and my dog was miserable. Will most definitely not be returning. read more

I would not bring my pet here, because it is a living breathing thing. But also for the sake of their customer service. I've also read several responses from the owner and haven't seen any sort of apology, remorse or willingness to take responsibility for anything. What does that say about about a business who thinks they have no areas to improve upon? That means they believe there are no areas they believe they are lacking in and do not need to adjust or work on to improve upon. Everything everyone has a complaint about, it's not the fault of the business. It's the fault of the customer. That's what I read in the owner's responses. I also read a very disturbing response to a review in which the owner of this business flat out lied. Besides reading too many negative reviews from random people to bring a living, feeling thing to such a place, I was a witness to a phone call a client had with the owner Beth, where Beth herself immediately took a defensive stand. There was no remorse, only defensive tones. I know the pet owner to be a reasonable, kind and loving woman. I have worked for her cleaning her home for years and was present when this call was placed. It was placed on speaker so she could tend to several butchered nails that were oozing blood during the call. Not one, but 5 nails. Right off the bat, Beth was defensive, didn't want to hear that there could've been any wrong done on her business's end. But I've worked with dogs and know enough to see a horrible job when one is done. Beth didn't even see this poor dogs nails and blamed the medication and moon and the stars, but not that maybe someone had an off day, say something kind...and it could've ended there. I just can't see medication being the cause of 5 mangled looking nails. No, I definitely would not take anything I care about to a place that only seems to care about their image. We take our goldendoodle here for all of her bath and grooming needs. I just can't sing enough praises of this place. Our dog comes home smelling, feeling, and looking incredible. We get so many compliments on her coat and cut, and I am happy to be able to refer people so that they can experience it, too! All of the dogs that I have seen come out look fabulous, but I know that they are extra great at cutting poodle hair. Since our goldendoodle has poodle-ish hair, they know just how to handle her curls and especially her feet and legs to keep them looking maintained and clean. When we told our technician that we were moving to another state, she offered to have our next groomer call them so that she could read our dog's care card and let the new groomer know all of the details about the cut that we like for our dog. I've been taking my older (very furry) Chow mix to Beth's Barks and Bubbles for 4 years now and they do a wonderful job with her despite her thick coat and her underfur. They listen to me and do what I ask each time. Two years ago I adopted a disabled Siberian husky (can't straighten her back legs) and they've taken wonderful care of her. Through her heart worm treatments and other procedures, Beth has personally made sure that she has received excellent care and grooming. I don't worry about my babies when they're at Beth's because I know she and her crew will take care of them as if they were her own. And as far as customer service goes - they're the best! The Triangle is a big place and the girls only get groomed every couple of months, but they remember everything about us as if we were neighbors/clients in a small town. I've taken my two dogs to several other places in the area and this was by far the most enjoyable, welcoming, and effective grooming we've experienced. I have never been "sold" on the effectiveness of the deshedding treatment but my white, heavy-shedder can now lounge on our navy blue pillows without leaving half his coat there. I took my dog there for a bath and nail trim. When I got him home, 5 nails were bleeding profusely - pooling blood on the floor; this was nearly 3 hours after his grooming. His nails were butchered, and he was traumatized. I called Beth, and she was defensive and even projected blame onto me. Utter denial responsibility made the problem worse. There was no sense of remorse for what had happened or concern for the dog's suffering. She let it slip that he had been finished nearly 3 hours before they called me, and I believe they delayed to give the bleeding time to subside, hoping that I would not know. One nail was still oozing blood 24 hours later. He is 3 1/2 years old and has had his nails trimmed about 36 times previously at other places with no problems. I will never take my dog back to this place. read more

My pup Dawson looked adorable after his haircut! I was a little surprised though by the total cost, which included a dematting fee despite his hair having been cut off due to mats. I did appreciate the groomer keeping me in the loop through the entire decision process and getting my consent before cutting off all of his long Havanese hair. I took my Pomeranian in to be groomed looking like a fluffy mess, when I came to pick him up just a few hours later I barley recognized him! He looked INCREDIBLE! Took my dog here for the first time today. My dog has had a chronic skin issue for the past 8 years seeing several vets trying out different products including ointments/skin products/changing of food we have only been able to get the itching under control which makes him happy in return. I explained this to the groomer upon drop off. When picking up my dog there was another staff member there that was EXTREMELY RUDE she even proceeded to tell me that it was time I found another vet. Very disappointed in the customer service here. Will not be returning and spreading the word about my disappointing experience. We were not satisfied and it was pricey, especially for what we got. Our poodle's short poofy tail was reduced to almost nothing, his ears that are supposed to be left long were cut very short, and we can see zigzags in how he was cut on his body. Our other little dog was very uneven and they trimmed her tail when we asked them not to. They didn't listen to our instructions, and seemed very pleased with inadequate work. This place is great! They do their best to work with my schedule and my dog loves his groomer. While my pup has great manners with people, I know he can be challenging in the presence of other dogs. The groomers at Beth's are both stern and friendly with my dog, which keeps him calm and happy. My dog is an 80lb German Shepherd Labrador mix with energy to spare, so I commend anyone who can work with him calmly and confidently. If you want your dog to look great and smell fresh this is the place for you. Colleen is my preferred groomer, but all of the interactions I've had with Beth's staff have been positive. read more

My Westie had been sick and had had all her legs shaved; she had not been groomed for over 7 months. I called and got an express appointment. Wellie trotted in with her tail in the air and trotted happily out again, looking neat and clean and like a Westie, with a skirt.
